Hotel Aakenus

Perfect travellers hotel. Good breakfast with vegetarian options. Comfortable bed,spacious room. Very near to city center and to Arktikum and Korindum museums. Friendly staff. I noticed there was regular bus service to one of the nearby outdoor skiing centers and many skiiers seemed to be happily staying at the hotel. Probably a 10 minute ride to the skiing center.

The Christmas stars in the windows were kept illuminated all the time so even with the blinded curtains closed there was a bit of yellow light bleeding into the room at night. Also the bathroom drain was partly blocked so the shower water didnt drain so well. Small problem really.

The room was spacious, and our room faced the car park which was probably the better sight to have. Thick walls, could only hear people when they walked past the door Breakfast included or 18 per person makes a saving Everything kept clean, diligent staff upstairs and the kitchen staff Exceptional price per night compared to other hotels

Heating didn't appear to have an obvious way to turn down, definitely 30 plus walking in there. Breakfast buffet, we were only there two days, but was repetitive items One of the few hotels away from the centre of town

Location excellent - <10min walk into main part of town. Staff very helpful & friendly. Breakfast was included & many options & food & beverages plentiful. Room satisfactory, bed a little soft for my likely but still comfortable. Shower space a little small but excellent hot water - immediate & water pressure great. I would choose this hotel again.

The location was perfect to explore Rovaniemi and its sorroudings and the hotel was nice, clean and the food fine - we especially liked the breakfast served. We also appreciated that the hotel had a sauna.

The double room was a little bit to the small side with limited space and storage for our suit cases and our Winther clothes, boots etc - Also the bathrrom was rather small - but it was ok, clean etc

Excellent location to all amenities , restaurants, fast foods and within walking distance to railway and bus station. Good quality breakfast which is included in the room rates. Dinner was good price. Liana at reception was very helpful to change our room from 1st floor to ground floor as there is no lift facilities in this hotel. We have quite a bit of luggages. Sauna was clean with separate times allocated for male and female. Nice clean room and cosy!

Rooms should be ventilated. I initially considereed taking rhe roons in hostel at back but it had unpleasant scent so I took hotel room. On ground floor you could hear people talking in parking lot but that wasn't often.

hotel check in staff were lovely - very friendly and had perfect English. we had a room on the ground floor with a lovely lit Christmas tree outside the window. very little noise from the street traffic outside. lots of choice for breakfast - hot and cold selection with self service in place.

overall I had no complaints, location was good, only a few minutes walk to the town centre.

Breakfast, room & location are the best rates I will give. Very convenient to walk around where the hotel is near the shopping mall, and the bus stop is just right in front of the Hotel. As well as 10 to 15 mins driving time from the Airport. Breakfast is so delicious, and you can have a buffet dinner in the hotel if you want with 16 EURO for each person. Staffs are helpful and friendly.

The stuff was really kind and helpfull, the room was cozy, its close to the city center, well Rovaniemi is small, the shuttle airbus from the airport stops to this hotel!, clean hotel, good wifi,

Breakfast was a bit poor, the hotel looks kinda old especially the bathroom needs some renovation, a bit expensive for what its worth

The hotel is excellent, it really was the friendly and accommodating staff that made my stay this wonderful. The sauna is very modern and surely hot! Breakfast and dinner were very good. I can recommend this hotel for solo travellers on a student budget. The hotel is very close to the city centre, the (public) bus to Santa's Village, as well as to some Cross-Country-Ski tracks. Will def. recommend this hotel to my friends. Kiitos paljon!
