Hôtel Vacances Bleues Royal Westminster

Location is excellent! Front door opens to shopping and old town area, back door opens to restaurant and beach. Everything is within walking distance. We paid the extra forty euros for a room with a balcony (had one small table and two chairs) overlooking the beach, it was the best forty euros we spent on the trip!! We loved this hotel and town so much we ended up booking an extra night and cutting out an other area of our trip. The beach directly in front of hotel is rocky and just ok, but if you turn left and walk about 500 yards you’ll find the sweetest little beach of small, smooth pebbles and crystal clear water. This beach is in a cove and has no waves, perfect for families with littles. There’s a shop right by the beach where you can purchase any beach item you could possibly need.

Room and bathroom were small…but honestly we did not care, we were hardly ever in the room. Majority of the staff was great, but the woman who worked the front desk was always grumpy (maybe apathetic is the better word?). My husband started referring to her as Broom Hilda, (Bruinhilde) and if we needed anything we’d wait until her shift was over so we could talk to someone else.

Everything!!! From the very late check-in, the 2 gentlemen at reception that night were awesome! The 6th floor room view was exceptional. The shutters kept the noise and lights out. The bed and pillows were comfy. The bathroom was spacious and hot water was hot! Safety deposit box and shelves plus hanging space and extra pillows if you needed them. Right on the beach! Close to restaurants, shops and a little walk to Menton train station. Loved our stay😍

Minor disappointment was the sloppy scrambled eggs at breakfast. Otherwise selection of everything and a few others I haven't seen before was great. Room had a slight odour of wet dog but you get used to it. Wasn't a big issue.

The location is perfect, a few metres from the beach and a few minutes from the Old Town. Our bedroom and bathroom were very clean, quiet and well designed. The safe was easy to use. We slept very well. The selection of food for breakfast is excellent. We enjoyed eating it in the garden which is a delightful place to have drinks at other times. (Don’t leave your plate of food unattended outside as pigeons will benefit ) The staff were very pleasant and efficient. Our luggage was stored in a locked room prior to our departure from the hotel.

The location is perfect, we did both the breakfast and dinner option, both were very good and very convenient. If the selection for dinner was not of your taste there was usually a second choice they may offer. Having both breakfast and dinner taken care of it was easy to just enjoy the day. We stayed on the 6th floor no balcony but a beautiful seaview with large windows that open wide. We look forward to our next stay in Menton and I first choice will be at this hotel.

The hotel is right on the water. View is delightful. Be sure to book an ocean view room. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area. Underground parking was close. Breakfast was delicious- eggs, bacon, croissants, ham, cheese.

Our room was on the street side. It was a bit noisy. Trucks were picking up garbage, I think at 5:30AM. Be sure to book the ocean view. The restaurant was open at night but there was not full menu- just one menu-no choice. This was not a problem as there were many other restaurants within walking distance. But it would be nice if the restaurant had a full menu for those who don't want to walk.

Excellent location between town and the beach and pretty close to the train station. Nice garden area away from the traffic where you can sit with a drink and see the sea. Interesting collection of trees in the garden.

Room was pretty small but we probably got it at reduced rate. One minor thing. We went to visit Hanbury Botanical Gardens one day. Turns out you can get a bus there from Ventimiglia, or walk from the border quite easily, but the receptionist seemed to never have heard of the place and said we should pay for a taxi.

Very comfortable beds, perfect location, great bar. Great shower/bathroom.

Breakfast options were a bit limited, we weren't impressed with the bacon/scrambled eggs/sausages. All rooms are of different sizes but are priced the same (we had 3 different rooms booked with friends of ours, all different sizes)

The room was very nice, a bit old fashioned, clean and quiet. The view from the 6th floor was amazing. The included breakfast was okay, the staff friendly. We could bring our little dog. There are however hotels that are more dog friendly

Breakfast was delicious and abundant. Directly on the sea. The beautiful, shaded garden on the sea-side of the hotel sets it apart from any other with respite in the quite shade with option of a drink when it’s time for a break from the hot beach sun. Set at the opening of a shopping street. Very convenient. Caters to an older clientele, but I found it relaxing and rejuvenating. Not a youthful party place if that’s what you want.

No vegatables on breakfast and the quality and selection wasn't that good. They used a sound device to keep the birds away from the hotel. We could hear it, and the sound ia very annoying. And still there was a lot of birds. No water boiler in the room!
