Nice Excelsior Centre ville

The hotel is intimate and decorative. The location to the main train station in Nice is excellent (avoid the staircase by crossing the road to the right of rue Durante for the footpath). There are some lovely rooms at the front of the hotel with access to a terrace. At the rear, there is a lovely garden space with proper seating. In the rooms, the little extra touches are special- gifts on the bed, gorgeous furnishings and a separate toilet. Good lighting, high ceilings, and quiet air conditioning and bar fridge put this hotel into the 9 range. It’s hard to go past.

The shower takes time to navigate. Excellent pressure but a little crazy splashing is going on with the shower head. Perhaps the size could be reduced?

1. Location. It is great because its near the train station, (walking distance) and easy to maneuver to the hotel with big luggage. 2. Service. I find the service is excellent. Front desk personnel named 'Dragon' really assisted us all the way. Me and my wife had to miss saying good bye to him because he is working in another shift. We want to really thank him for being such a great host and gave us a lot of advice. 3. Cleanliness. The room provided is cleaned thoroughly. Even the bathroom and toilet (separate bathroom and toilet) too. Everyday the smell of freshly baked croissants woke us up.

Only 1 thing we dislike is the size of the toilet. Oversize people would really have a hard time.

A few minutes walk to main Avenue Jean Medrcin and to tram to airport. We chose a deluxe double with balcony and it was beautiful. We were on a 4 night winter break and spent 3 nights in Menton and the last night here before flight home. It is very close to Nice Ville train station. Check in was early 1pm for us at no extra cost and check in lady was great at english and smilingly tolerant at my persistent attempts at a little french. Room was perfect, comfy bed, fabulous shower and quaint balcony which, being stubborn Brits, we used anyway even though it was only 10 degrees C (warm for us). The breakfast and room was perfect. A variety of about 10 cheeses and cold meats at breakfast, various croissants, several breads, many coffees and teas and lovely tasting sausages, bacon and scrambled egg. Wonderful stay.

The Excelsior was an overall wonderful experience! The room was very comfortable and decorated with a beautiful “Nice vibe” (contrary to typically bland hotel rooms). The staff was super hospitable, notably Dragan at the Front Desk and Alexandre at breakfast. The breakfast buffet has everything you need and the outdoor space at the property was a surprise bonus. Great location and fairly priced - I highly recommend staying here.

Excellent location, just a couple of minutes from the train station, walking distance to the old town and beach. The place is very comfortable and clean, we had new towels every day and we loved the coffee station in the lounge. Great staff, very polite and helpful !

Staff were very friendly and helpful Very well located for the train station. 10 min walk to restaurants and beaches. Felt very safe walking at night.

Only issue was: no air conditioning but it was March and we were able to open windows. I was told the hotel was unable to have both ac and heating facilities at the same time. So ac should be functional in the summer months.

This is an attractive and comfortable hotel that is centrally located being within walking distance of several places of interest, restaurants and shopping facilities. The staff was very warm, welcoming and helpful.

Sound insulation was very poor particularly between floors which proved quite disturbing as the movement of persons on the floor above us was as audible as if they were walking/pulling luggage right next to us.

Staff really friendly and very helpful on good places to visit etc.. Nice, clearn room with a balcony - shower was fantastic. When we had specified a twin room (they didnt get the message via Booking.com) they immediately changed the double room to twin. Good breakfast choices aswell.

Nothing - the hotel was really good and staff excellent. They didnt receive our request for a twin room via Booking.com and had us for a double (i was with my mum) so they immediately had the housekeeper sort the beds out. They could not have been more helpful.

I loved all everything about the hotel…

Booking.com said there was parking yet there was none I had to park on the street booking.com said you price match , I tried reaching you to no prevail , I paid $1300. Had I paid the hotel directly it would have cost for the same exact booking $1000. Disappointing !

The hotel is located near the train station and has a 24h front desk, which was very convenient for us as we arrived late and departed very early. The location is also good for discovering the city.

The air system in the room was making some noise, which could be a bit annoying. Given the season of the year we were traveling, we didn’t mind using the balcony door for the fresh air instead.
