Hôtel Bonne Nouvelle

Staff were very helpful - both on reception and the cleaning staff were happy to help and very positive. Gives it a nice feeling. Although the hotel is on a not particularly attractive side street it's actually just minutes from good Metro links and nice restaurants and bars.

Very well located in Paris, close to several metro stations. 24h reception, nice staff, comfortable stay.

Not soundproof, we could hear everything from outside and from the other rooms.

The elevator is SUPER narrow and only goes up to the 4th floor (I think there are 6 floors in total). It didn't really bother us too much, but just a word of warning I guess! Other than that, everything was great :)

Room was really lovely. Wasn’t expecting to have AC which came in handy as it was north of 30 degrees during our stay in Paris. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a pretty nice view out onto the street from the 5th floor. There are two metro stations located within walking distance which was a big plus. Would definitely recommend this hotel for those planning to visit Paris.

Lift only goes up to the 4th floor which meant we still had to get up a flight of stairs to get to our room. The lift itself was very small and narrow (max capacity of 3 people) which meant we had to take multiple trips to get our luggage down to check out. Breakfast was pretty underwhelming for €14 pp so we ending up going out for breakfast instead on our second and third days.

Excellent little hotel, quite close to the main attractions. Everything was clean and tidy, so we had a very nice stay.

This is not the hotel’s fault, but Paris has become super expensive. Immorally expensive. And nobody seems to react… We paid around 150 euro a night and you can consider this was a bargain in Paris. The room is nice, true, but it’s really, really small. No breakfast was included. The lift was for one person, two very thin/small people. We all need to think and reconsider what kind of cities we want and how we make them financially accessible to most people. If prices keep going up, travelling (and living in these cities!) will only be for rich people in the future.

The rooms were bigger than I expected. All facilities such and the bathroom and shower were new and modern. There was a coffee machine and hot water in the rooms. Although the floor space was small when 2 suitcases were laid out, there was ample storage space with a small cupboard, desk and chair. The shower pressure was strong and water was warm.

There was an AC machine in the room but we weren’t sure how to get it working (we didn’t need it too much so didn’t ask), this meant we slept with the window open but it can be a little loud in the morning as voices travel a bit.

Perfect location. Many eateries nearby. The wonderful smell of croissants from the kitchen every morning. The reception was very helpful. They helped to make dinner reservation for a restaurant nearby too. The bed was extremely comfortable. Our light gone off but the reception got it fixed right away.

Having to walk uphill to reach the hotel with three pieces of luggage was quite tiring. The room is quite small, which is typical in Paris. Had to move around the armchair to make more space for two check-in luggage. It was a bit noisy on the late Saturday night. The pillows were too soft.

in a relatively mixed area, reasonably quiet but some lively bars and restaurants just around the corner so good mix of both worlds. Bed was very comfortable and a pleasure to sleep in.

The shower stall was a little difficult to get into due to the toilet overhanging the stall door, also the shower on off handle was often knocked when getting in and out as the opening to the stall was extremely narrow. Ok for slimmer and younger people but larger people and those a little bit older might struggle to get in and out of.

Personnel was very helpful, kind and eager to assist on all matters. The value for money was excellent considering the hotel's location (central), amenities, comfort in the room (bed quality, room temperature, wifi availability) and cleaning services. 100% recommended!

The room could have been differently organized to accomodate luggage for 2 people more conviniently. The elevator only goes up to the 4th floor, from the 6 floors in total. Apart from these 2 really minor issues, the hotel is still a great choice and it's highly recommended based on our stay.

A well located basic hotel in a quiet road just a couple of stops on the Metro from Gare du Nord . The room was clean with a comfortable double bed and decent shower room . It is a fairly small room but you know that when you book and I just needed a place to sleep . Very friendly staff with baggage storing facilities . I liked the area , close to some nice bars , restaurants and the metro . I would stay here again for sure .

A small point but I would of liked a chair of some sort in the room
