Motel One Hamburg Airport

Beautiful decor, comfortable bed, great music accompanying a great breakfast. Overall good value for money.

Although close enough to the airport to walk, it is longer than advertised (about 25 mins) awkward to do and hard to find, most importantly it involves a long flight of stairs at the end of a pedestrian overbridge - a struggle with luggage. There is, however, a bus stop right behind the hotel connecting to the airport in 5mins. This should be included in the description.

The reception/lounge/breakfast area was very cosy and well designed and resembled a boutique hotel rather than an airport hotel. The staff was super friendly, they had freshly baked gluten free buns for me every morning and just made staying in the lounge a pleasant experience. As a result the lounge/bar was busy and enjoyable in the evening which is a great plus for an airport motel. Rooms were well designed too, bed comfortable and the TV showed a nice fire place whenever we entered. We were truly pleasantly surprised.

No room service. Due to lack of time, Iron with a board was requested in advance and double checked if it will be already available in the room. It was not there. Staff did not bother much to help. Had to bring everything myself from the reception. Not many food options in their local restaurant

Due to a 6 am flight unable to partake breakfast - but saw its set up and it looked like a nice variety. I felt safe, it was not seedy, and the staff was nice and helpful.

Shuttle to/from airport would have been nice - but they had a button to get me a taxi quickly which was great service from the front desk. Of course the taxi drivers do not like the short trip and stretch it as far as they can and are pretty rude … would have preferred to give my money to a shuttle driver instead who are generally much more congenial.

Basically, everything was good, from front desk times to check-in smoothness to cleanliness of the the rooms and support of the staff. Excellent lobby design too, the room was pretty standard - it's an airport hotel.

Breakfast is okay if you like cold salty options in the morning (ham, cheese, bread), otherwise the selection of items offered is quite narrow, one could also say nonexistent (no nutella, no warm food, barely any jams if any at all).

clean, tidy, great rooms, good shower and lovely breakfast. Laura checked my work colleague and myself in very quickly & swiftly and she is a true professional, capable, efficient and knowledgeable of what the company could offer. For sure guest relation manager material. Simon who was on evening duty took care of us well in the evening and the breakfast team managed very well with a nice mix of continental breakfast items. Again very efficient working team. the only disappointment for us was that there was no restaurant. However we went to the Restaurant Alterskrug just up the road and what delicious Wiener schnitzel!!! I do also have to mention the room staff and housekeeping again i repeat myself very efficient. And finally a hotel who uses decent toilet paper. It is these details that are crucial and matter a lot!

It is very close to the airport, very convenient if you need to return a car - especially since there is a gas station less than a minute away. Staff was friendly and checkin easy. The rooms were clean and quiet.

It was hard to find the entrance in the dark and the parking was crowded but we were able to find a spot. My brother said the air didn’t work in his room and so it was warm, but we were only there a few hours so we didn’t bother to ask for help fixing it.

Easy check in. Was able to relax with a light meal and glass of wine before bed. the staff held my luggage for while i headed back to the airport to grab a car.

It would be good if you had an airport shuttle service - I had a difficult time getting a taxi to take me and my luggage for such a short drive. They all told me to walk, but at night with a few bags it was too difficult.

Staff all very friendly and helpful. All questions sent via booking.com were answered very quickly. Close to the airport. Taxi took about 5 mins and was €13. I think it is walkable in 10-15 mintues. Bus then train to get to the city from hotel. (Or you can walk about 10 mintues to train) Nice warm shower. Didn't eat at hotel so can't comment on food/service.

No kettle in room or general tea/coffee making facilities. No luggage holder/stand in room

We really enjoyed our stay here. The Motel One is really close to the airport, so we could walk to the Terminal early in the morning within 10 mins. There are several stores close by (e.g., a Lidl) and also some food options (either in the airport or, e.g., a Burger King was close by). We spent a very comfortable night here and will stay here again on our next visit to Hamburg!
