We loved the Red Dave Athens, it was a great concept, well used space in the rooms, the bathroom was cleaver (thou could be more aligned with safety in mind i.e. slippery floor throughout once you've showered). The room was a bit cramped, (might have been the room we choose) but very well thought-out. The bed very comfortable, pillows, it was a good night sleep. The neighborhood is quite honestly a bit "seedy" but we're from NYC, there is however a Police station directly across the street from the hotel, (so you're safe). The roof top was a great chill spot spectacular views, perhaps a little tiki bar setup on the roof would save on consistently running downstairs for another drink. We had the breakfast plan, food was good (no eggs, not sure it was just the time we were there or not) but there's good breakfast supply, would recommend the breakfast plan. There's a little side bar table area to people watch, plan your day, just chill, while still on the Hotel property. The neighborhood is convenient after all is said, there's food shops, restaurants, shops, etc., it is safe to walk about, of course there's the unfortunate souls living on the streets on your path to the hotel, depending on your path, welcome to the world The Dave Red Athens, served its purpose for us, location, food, convenient, we felt safe walking about, Staff was great/help, always willing to help. We loved it!

small bed (round), location was not the best, known for it’s drugs and alcohol area in Athens.. not very comfortable

Very good value for money. Small but stylish and clean rooms with balcony. Seems to be frequented rather by young and modern/hip guests. Staff was friendly, early check-in was made possible.

The rooms are quite small and barely leave room to store luggage. Stayed in the area a few years ago and either forgot how rough it was or things changed since then. Didn’t really feel comfortable walking around with a little child in the area as you see a lot of drug addicts lying on the street. Police station right opposite to the hotel gives some comfort but having been to almost all countries in Europe I at least don’t remember seeing such a rough neighborhood (reminded me of some downtown areas in the US).

Very nice and stylish boutique hotel that is fun and comfortable. Very convenient to the train line to the airport and Acropolis .

The hotel is across the street from a police station which sounds fine except that groups of friends and family gather every morning awaiting the release of people who have been incarcerated overnight. People are released at noontime. In addition nearby groups of people are living on the streets. In our short stay of two nights we saw two people actively injecting drugs. We have lived in NYC for decades and we were not fearful for ourselves or our property. However these were very sad sights but very memorable. The police are active. We as well saw under cover cops strip search men on the sidewalk with their pants down to the thighs. All this adds a contemporary perspective in contrast to ancient Athens.

Cute boutique hotel with comfortable beds, friendly staff and in easy walking to distance to everything. Good value for what it is. Less then 10 minutes to Manastraki district. Neighborhood was quiet and felt safe.

Very small room with no place for luggage but was well designed otherwise. We paid a bit more to have a balcony which was nice but the hotel keeps bright lights on all the balconies and unfortunately the black out curtain doesn't contain the light. Asked front desk to shut off the lights but was told they stay on all night.

I love the hotel, the aesthetic is so cinematic I feel I am in a different universe. Definitely, my favorite place to stay in Athens.

The only reason I didnt give a 10 was because not all red led strips were functioning in the room and it was one of the main reasons I wanted to stay there. Also the thermostat was a bit weird it wouldn't stay above 22 degrees Celsius.However those were minor things for me since everything else is great, staff super helpful and pleasant, the room and hotel are very clean, the matress and pillows are amazing.

- staff amazing, caring and helpful, beginning with the receptionists to cleaners, super positive people open to chatting and sharing tips about bars, nightclubs, restaurants and attractions. -room clean with a smashing atmosphere, red lights, old fashioned phone and gramophone, after a few drinks this room brought me to 70'. -breakfast tasty, vegan, vegetarian, everyone could find something nice to eat. I tried the juice they offered and it was a cure for a hangover. You could also enjoy your food on the balcony. -roof top spectacular, relaxing jacuzzi as well as clean. I've been traveling solo for the first time and I really felt confident and safe during my stay, The staff advised me what part of the city to avoid to keep myself safe. I loved this place with all my heart.

I spent a delightful stay at the Dave Red Hotel in Athens with my partner in the beginning of December. The hotel was very nice, with comfortable rooms, a modern design, and clean amenities. We were particularly impressed with the breakfast, which was small but delicious and featured high-quality ingredients. The hotel staff was also generally polite and helpful. Overall, we had a very positive experience at the Dave Red Hotel and would recommend it to others.

The hotel is located near a metro station, which makes it easy to get around Athens. However, the area around the hotel is not the safest at night. I wouldn't recommend walking carefree alone after a certain time. Some of the staff, particularly the receptionists, seemed a bit distant. It would be nice if they could be more welcoming and approachable.

Cool, new, good-looking, funny, retro meets modern -kind of place. Easy to find. Easy access from the airport. Shops nearby. Wifi was perfect.

Sound proofing (you can hear everything from the hall. (For me) too enthusiastic cleaning :), it's of course a good thing sometimes, but I had some remote work to do. The neighborhood is somehow restless (drug using, sleeping on the street) but safe and manageable even as a solo female traveller.

The staff, amenities, and location make it a top choice for any traveler.

Despite the hotel's prime location in front of a police station, I found the area to be unsafe at night.
