An incredibly unique, stunning and peaceful place with super kind and helpful staff. The building is beautifully renovated with a good balance of comfort and authenticity, breakfast and wine were lovely. Once open, the new pool will be a great addition, completing a fantastic view from the back of the property that isn't done justice by the photos. We were also very pleased with the surroundings - nice restaurants and cafes, lots of history, great tennis facilities, and the San Filippo thermal baths are a must. We had an amazing time and would love to be back:)

The outdoor and interior design of the property exceed the expectations and is way above what you can see in the pictures. There are small details in every corner and everything is made with quality materials and consistent with the historical background of the place. I loved every single thing, amazing dinner and breakfast, heated pool facing a typical Tuscan landscape, relaxing areas in the garden. I wish I could have stayed more to enjoy the facilitates and good energy that surrounds the place. I will definitely come back here.

It's impossible not to fall in love with this place! Everything is perfect here: + very kind and helpful people + comfortable and cozy room + excellent dinner in gorgeous hall + wine cellar and tasting room + and of course, the ancient monastery itself with its rooms and many details that can be looked endlessly We really TRAVEL A LOT and are always looking for some unusual places to stay, but this hotel is definitely one of the best in our lives! Don't think, just book!

We wanted to stay here forever, but had to go 🥲

We were at Convento San Bartolomeo for three nights as a base for a tour in Val d'Orcia Tuscany. We didn’t know the structure before and we reserved it almost blindly. We were positively surprised to find a wonderful location in a wonderful place. The location is an old monastery of around XIV century completely refurbished with all modern comfort but at the same time keeping intact the atmosphere of the old monastery, with a nice peaceful cloister, garden and fruit garden. Further, the owners are very kind people that are ready to help you for any problem or suggestion. They invited us to make a tour of the monastery explaining the history, the problems in the restoration and showing us old frescos present in various rooms. The breakfast was excellent and complete, more than the usual Italian breakfast. The Convento San Bartolomeo is perhaps a bit far from the most famous places in Val d'Orcia (like Pienza or Montepulciano) but we could easily reach all those places. With the absolute advantage to return in the afternoon in a very quite village, away from the confusion and the noise of more touristic places, but nevertheless with beautiful villages around to visit and good restaurants at a very good price. For us was an excellent discovery and we enjoyed our three days there. We definitely suggest Convento San Bartolomeo to people that want to visit that area of Italy.

Amazing property located in the heart of Val D’ Orcia… u feel breathless as soon as you step in. The property belongs to the same family for the past 2 centuries, well maintain with a kiosk and a garden .we had an aperitivo served immediately after arrival in the kiosk ( very much appreciated). Staff was professional and dedicated . The property is located 15 min driving near Bagni San Filippo ( really worth to visit).

There are no complaints at all.. really recommend also for just a visit .::

We rented a car at the Rome airport and this was our first destination/place to stay in Tuscany. It is well situated in a wonderfully old and restore convent. The room was immaculate and large (a suite which was the old Convent library). Laura and Marissa (owner) were incredibly gracious to us and so helpful figuring out our itinerary for two days. We were able to access Assisi and Perugia from this location, as well as Montepulciano, Santa Fiore, La Foce and various other towns and sites in the Val d'Orcia vicinity. While we did a lot of driving, this location was lovely and rich in beauty and history and we looked forward to being there and returning to the Convent. Breakfast was magnificent and and generous with everything you could want from a continental breakfast (including eggs). It was great!

Hard to improve...rich in history and graciousness.

It's hard to describe how beautiful and peaceful this hotel is. Everything is well restored and taken care of. Staff are lovely and so hospitable. The hotel is just beautiful. Highly recommend. We are at the restaurant both nights. The food was delicious and served in such beautiful surroundings. The pool and views from the gardens are exceptional.

There was nothing I didn't like.

A magical stay at a historic hotel. Every detail was perfect. The staff was very helpful and gracious and looked after us as if we were family. Breakfast and dinner were great. The new pool is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the views. This is a hotel experience that everyone should book! Many thanks to everyone at the Convento!

It was perfect

Gorgeous view, gardens, and decor. Exceptionally clean and comfortable. Welcoming, kind host, Laura. Lovely typical Italian breakfast served in the courtyard under a beautiful tree. A short walk to town center and a short drive to natural hot springs and wineries. I was traveling alone and it was very peaceful. I can imagine it would also be an excellent place for couples, weddings, or group yoga retreat.

This property was gorgeous with amazing historic value. The rooms and view were beautiful. The food was incredible. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, even taking us on an amazing tour of the property and explaining the historic significance. Definitely not to be missed!

There was absolutely nothing we didn’t like. We were overwhelmed in a very positive way.
