Hotel Punta Negra

The saltwater swimming pools were very nice and the area well looked after. Staff were excellent. Very good breakfast. It's a very nice hotel. The balcony protects the room from strong sunshine which keeps the room cool.

There is an impression that there is a beach available from the photographs. When I checked my paperwork before travel it mentioned that the beach wasn't open until 15th June but I presumed that was just lifeguard cover not that the beach was a construction site. The beach wasn't available for most of our visit as it was being worked on by the local council and they didn't have it ready on the date mentioned by the hotel. If we didn't have a car to go to other beaches, we would have been very disappointed. Once the council finished work, the beach did look like the photos and was available for use.

Location, cleanliness, sea view.

No complimentary warer upon arrival, no tea or coffee in the room (had to speak to administrator and explain that its a basic necessity), lack of food option for breakfast (except bakery), small selection of fruit for breakfast (no watermelon, no melon despite it was a season).

Hotel was great. Lovely staff, great food, happy with room and swimming pool. Unfortunately the beach was unusable and was in the process of being cleared of seaweed and washed up sea plants. It would be better if it had been cleaned before tourists arrive.

The pool area and the garden are the best things about the hotel. The pools are filled with sea water (no chlorine) and one of them is a infinity with view to the sea. Some people were complaining about the bad sewer smell around the pool area, but we didn’t feel it that much, it comes and goes and it’s not that bad. There is also a beach that is partly private and partly free where the sunbeds and umbrellas are free for the hotel guest. However expect to find algae on it that give the impression of being dirty. Staff is very kind and helpfull and the barrista makes very good cocktails. There is enough parking for everyone. Beakfast food was good but you get the same menu everyday (prosciutto, mozzarela, salami, breads, fruits, and a variety of pastries and sweets)

We chose a room with park view, however we got a room facing an inner terrace. Saw other rooms and it’s worth paying extra for a sea view. As mentioned the beach area was not really well maintened.

Fantastic heated pools incl. infinity sea view and friendly pool guard. Large parking in a pine wood. View to the Alghero. Large bathroom.

Small room for 3 persons. Why you push all breakfast guests in a small crowded and busy area instead of using full size of terrace? No gaming tools nor facilities (no playground, no toys). Load music from outside village in the night until 5 a.m. (both thursday and friday). Rooms are overall average (cons idering high price) and whole residential building should be renovated.

The hotel is in a stunning location with beautiful views across the bay. Our son and his wife were married there yesterday evening and the wedding was perfect. Francesco and his staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the wine flowed all night, a great time was had by all the guests. Today we relaxed by the beautiful salt water pool and lunched on the terrace, the perfect end to the weekend. Thank you Francesco and team!

The hotel is only 5 minutes on foot from Fertilia town. The staff is super polite and professional. Especially the Reception and Front Office staff. There is direct access to the beach with free sunbeds for the guests. Don't be put off by the mild smell of rotten eggs at the beach, as you may read in some reviews. It's just dying algae and it's actually good for you and therapeutic. The pools are great, especially the Infinity pool. The view is amazing. The rooms are clean and the chambermaids work really really hard. Breakfast is superb with some options you rarely find in hotels. We also booked the half-board supplement and the dinner was amazing. It's not a buffet, but much much better. You get an A-la-carte menu and you can select 1 of each from Appetizer, First dish, Second dish, Side dish, Dessert. It's like a proper fine dining restaurant. Overall it's the best hotel we stayed in Italy and would happily return.

The maître d'hôtel seems a bit aggressive and abrupt, rushing when writing down the order and missing stuff from the order almost every time. I understand they are busy, but don't show the customer that. Also I didn't like that some parents were taking their infants into the adults pools. How can you control 1 to 4 year old infants not to pee in the pool, which they most certainly do? We always left the pool and went to the beach when the infants came.

Great view, friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Pool area had enough space, good shade from the hot sun and it was suitable for small children. A lot of parking space, less than 10 min drive from airport and approx. 15 min drive to Alghero. There is nothing close by though so you need a car if you want to see around easily.

The beach was not very comfortable but better than nothing.

The beds were very comfortable and proximity to the sea was excellent offering beautiful views from the bar and restaurant. parking was free and easy. The pools and private beach were very nice and use of loungers/umbrellas was free. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming, both professional and friendly. The Wi-Fi was excellent throughout the hotel. Food was very good quality and there was a range of good options at breakfast. It felt a real treat to stay here. Although published check-in (4pm) and checkout (10am) times were respectively quite late and early, we were able to get our room before lunchtime and to extend our time before leaving. The staff were super accommodating.

Service at dinner was exceptionally slow. The restaurant prices are pretty high, but the views from there are lovely. While one beach towel per guest is free each day, there’s a charge if you want another (eg if your towel is wet).
