Hotel Flora

Brilliant location; staff very friendly; room spotlessly clean; the shower was wonderful...about as big as my entire bathroom at home!; this is a small, cosy hotel, bursting with character and a perfect place to explore Cagliari (i.e. this is not a hotel where you can sit around all day, but why would you when you're visiting a city?)... this is a lovely, almost boutique hotel, wonderfully clean, friendly staff, conveniently located for everything you might want to do in Cagliari. Oh and they serve traditional Sardinian foods too in their restaurant....it's a small restaurant...'intimate' I would call it. I had asked for a quiet room and that's exactly what they provided.

Hmm.....nope, nothing that springs to mind.

This very friendly hotel is in a great central location for walking round the marina and the old city. There are a plethora of restaurants on the doorstep including their very own hotel restaurant which I understand is very good (although we didn't eat there). The airport is only about 10 mins away by taxi and the central station is only a 5 min walk. The hotel is on a pedestrianised street so be aware that you may have to walk a couple of mins to the junction with your luggage. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean with tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The breakfast buffet was fine with a range of hot food, local pastries, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cheese/hams etc. The staff are polite and friendly

I found the corner shower in the ensuite a little on the tight side - it only opened about a foot - I'm not especially big but even I had to get in sideways.

Very good hotel, great, professional, staff, also in terms of clothing (black suits). Professional reception service and a Gentleman preparing breakfast (10/10). Very nice interiors with beautiful stylized decorations.

However, some amenities had to be asked for. Slippers, kettle, tea, were provided only at my request. Ironing board in a room did not exist. At first, the personnel tried to move to a worse room, what of course I refused. Breakfast is also worth expanding (only one kind of plain cheese, few cold cuts), albeit a great Italian breakfast was always served, including coffee.

Francesca on the front desk was very cheerful and helpful, such a friendly face to see! In fact all the staff at reception and the waiters cleaners etc were lovely. I loved all the interesting antiques around and it is a lovely building. Our room was clean and comfortable and the shower was good! The breakfast had a lovely garden area and was plentiful although it wasn't inclusive. There is a restaurant too but we didn't get to eat there, I am sure it would be of a high quality though! Thank you all!

Perfect location once we found it, Great welcome from Francesca (excellent directions to car park, which were preciously followed!!!). Fascinating hotel full of interesting furniture and artifacts which gave it a unique ambiance. It was a pleasure to eat in such a lovely dinning room, the food was excellent. We were fortunate to be in Cagliari for the May 1st to 4th Feast of Saint Efisio being the greatest festival of Sardinia.

The directions provided by Booking.com were inaccurate due to major roadworks and changes to overall traffic flow.

Nice location, just near the railway station. Hydro-massage shower was amazing. Great staff hospitality even when I was way to early to check-in.

Breakfast was OK in a sense that it wasn't buffet. One has to select in advance the breakfast options in which eggs are not included. One has to pay to get those. Else OK

All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. They receptionists were extremely willing to ensure that we enjoyed our stay at the hotel and spoke English really well which was helpful if we had any queries or questions.

We were expecting to have a buffet breakfast to choose from every day. We completed a form when we arrived and gave our choice of breakfast (continental) which we thought was only for the first morning of our stay but this was served to us every day. The fresh fruit and bread was very tasty.

Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Staff were always courteous and helpful. The hotel displays some interesting collections of toys and of antiques- the art nouveau glass was very impressive. The hotel’s restaurant was also very good for dinner, both for quality and value.

Breakfast there is expensive, but there are cafes nearby that offer a good alternative.

The hotel is centrally located close to the sea and the railway & bus stations and a stone's throw from a pleasant square where the main post office is located. There are some excellent restaurants further up the street. Room 301 with its private terrace was beautiful - I had slight problems with the shower controls but these were quickly sorted. I was prevented from flying back to the UK and the reception staff found me a room for a further three nights and helped me complete the paperwork needed at the airport. They really went the extra mile and I cannot thank them enough.

There were no instructions on how to find Sky on the TV so I had a very limited choice of channels. Also I had dinner in the restaurant on my first evening and it was disappointing.

We stayed in this hotel for the last night of our ten day stay in Sardinia, as we returned our rental car to Cagliary after travelling around the island. This hotel is ideally located for the airport - you can walk down to the train station in about 5 minutes, the ticket to the airport costs €1.40 and takes 6 minutes. The location is also ideal for going out, situated right in the centre of the city with all its shops, bars, restaurants and bustling nightlife. However, up on the (top) 5th floor you don't hear a thing! Our room was of a good size with a very high ceiling, which made it lovely and airy. The mini bar with drinks and snacks was a bonus.

The only negative thing I can think of was that the air con was a little slow, it took a good while to cool down the room temperature when getting in at night time
