We had a booked a duplex room and a regular room. We particularly liked the duplex - very modern, with a sofa and coffee making equipment downstairs, a little balcony facing right on Via Etnea, and a modern upstairs. A really nice room. Staff were also really good to us. The manager personally looked after us and enquired after us when there had been an issue with the sofa bed on the first day.

The duplex entitled us to breakfast on the 7th floor. This was great for views of Mt Etna each breakfast, but the breakfast selection for such an otherwise good hotel was woeful. Very underwhelming. And occupants of regular rooms even needed to pay extra for this simple breakfast!

We liked the large room we had... The staff were lovely helpful and friendly, Restaurant Rosella, Daniela Reception, Ricardo, Fransceco and Rita but all were great and can't remember all their names. The breakfast was good. The location was brilliant and the rooftop restaurant outlook was amazing looking at Etna. Went on trips to Mount Etna and Syracusa/Ortigia/Noto which I can recommend. Plenty of restaurants and bars which were nearby.

The only one thing was nowhere to sit outside. We went to the park which was nearby.

UNA Palace Hotel has a fantastic central location which felt safe and felt accessible to many food places /bars and shops. The customer service was incredible, we were offered a free upgrade and felt really looked after. There is a concierge valet service available where you can leave your car so there are no parking worries. They can also arranger taxi services and airport transfers. Our room was fantastic with a balcony onto the highstreet and was incredibly clean and well kept. The rooftop terrace bar is a fantastic feature where you can enjoy the views of Mount Etna and Catania. The staff are very accomodating and arranged for us to visit the terrace earlier than the opening time so that we could see it before our flight. It was a great location to reach neighbouring towns and sites and we definitely plan on coming back!

Really nice hotel. Exceptional staff on the front desk very welcoming especially the blonde lady who mapped out every sight worth visiting in Catania. She was very informative & really helpful. Great breakfast with so much choice in a really lovely dining room. Rooftop terrace beautiful at night for drinks.

Nothing to dislike

The hotel was very comfortable and situated within easy walking distance to many of the beautiful attractions the city has to offer. We were very grateful for the complimentary welcome drink on the rooftop terrace when we arrived with views to Mt Etna in the distance. We paid extra for the Sicilian breakfast which was served on the rooftop terrace and it did not disappoint. We were treated to an array of delicious dishes very beautifully presented and it was so lovely just to be sitting on the rooftop terrace eating breakfast with views of majestic Mt Etna.

The property was central to the city. To be honest, the biggest value to this hotel is the staff. They were all amazing. I would definitely rebook here at this hotel but not due to facilities, but due to the staff. Virgilio was truely amazing at resolving the issues we had.

The cleaners always left our door open in the mornings after cleaning. We would come back through the day and they were never locked. We had multiple issues with plumbing in multiple rooms. The pillows are old and need replacement asap. They are so old they don’t shop your head. You padding is split and your head is on the mattress. The usb points in our first room were also broken.

Breakfast was a good selection to choose from and of good quality. Location of hotel was central making it easy to get around the city and area from. Staff friendly and helpful.

Noise first thing in the morning from the road - we had a room at the front.

The hotel went over and above our expectations and gave us a wonderful warm welcome. Rita and the team at the front desk were exceptional. The parking is convenient- you can pull up outside the hotel and they will valet for you. We have a welcome glass of Prosecco and they honored our special occasion with a bottle in the room later. We had a fantastic room with a balcony. Air conditioning was good and overall a very pleasant nights sleep. Breakfast on the top floor was very nice and service was excellent. Our only complaint was that we just spent one night - next time we will stay for longer! Thank you!

Liked everything.

This location is very central and convenient. The breakfast was exceptional and varied - loved the ricotta cheese. The center of the night life is just a street away which my adult kids loved. Restaurants offer interesting twists on standard Sicilian food. We felt safe in this city and enjoyed exploring and visiting sites. Staff was exceptionally helpful - in particular Ricardo who helped us change a complicated booking in Palermo and gave fabulous advice about where to visit for the best experience possible.

Catania is a bit dirtier than I expected - dog poo is not cleaned up after and refuse bins are too small and trash is overflowing.

Excellent city center hotel on Via Etnea with a rooftop bar and restaurant and great view of Mount Etna over the rooftops of Catania. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast room on the first floor was busy but the staff were efficient and friendly. Front desk staff assisted us with late checkout on one of our rooms which was very much appreciated as we had a late flight home.

Choices at breakfast bar were fairly limited given the size of the hotel and the number of guests. Discovered that breakfast could have been requested in the rooftop bar are and but wasn't offered this option at check in.
