The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a good size. Lots of restaurants right next to the hotel to eat at. Good breakfast in the mornings, basic choices like pastries, salami and ham, cheese, boiled eggs, cereal, yoghurt and some jams. Amazing coffee! Public transport to main destinations like Naples and Sorrento are only a few minutes walk away. We traveled with my 7 month old and asked for a cot from the hotel, they confirmed it at the time of reservation and also double checked before our arrival. Overall great experience :)

A few more healthier breakfast options would be great.

The main reason for choosing this hotel was location. We came to Naples to see Herculaneum. This hotel is literally right across (a small) road to the heritage site - 1 minute walk to the gate. It was well-priced, very convenient and whilst I was expecting the room to be simple - there was a nice common area. Restaurants are in walking distance, and we ate well.

Public transport can take a while to get there, and taxi's are a bit on the pricey side. To get to Naples or the airport, expect to pay around 40 - 60 Euros. Also, recommend you walk up the stairs, rather than take the lift.

Walk across the street and you're at The Herculaneum archaeological site. Perfect location. Host was extremely polite and helpful at our late check in and made us feel very welcome. Family room was a little basic but had everything we needed and a comfy bed! Breakfast was superb. Really nice selection of pastries, cereals and a good cappuccino! Host also let us store bags in a secure cupboard for as long as we wanted to visit the archaeological site

The room didn't match the photos advertising the property. The rooms look lovely with blue and white striped decor/bedding and the family room needs that upgrade to reflect the rest of the property However we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Herculaneum

Great location, right outside Ercolano scavi, which is a must-see. Rooms were lovely and clean and bathroom and showers were great. Breakfast was a seemingly standard Italian buffet that we adapted to. We had nice balconies.

The reception area was a little off-putting at first, but not really a criticism, as this is a hotel located in a very urban area. Although there was a terrace, it would have been nice if there was an active bar area to socialise in.

Perfect location, the ruins of Herculaneum are just across the street. The rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly and supportive. (There was a technical problem in one of our rooms, and they immediately moved us to another room.) Breakfast is OK, and the view on the sea from the breakfast room is adding a great start to the day. The small terrace with the “lemon garden decoration” is a great place to finish the day with a glass of prosecco. Pappamonte restaurant is on the corner with great food and very friendly service.

The parking is a bit far (5 minutes walk), but it’s not a very big problem.

whilst the hotel was old, it didn’t detract from it at all. we chose it because it was across the road from the Herculaneum historical site. the receptionist was lovely, the breakfast filled us up for the day. we were there on New Year’s Day and the town was exceptionally quiet, so much so that we found it difficult to find somewhere to eat at night. parking was a bit tricky and we got a fine by not understanding the rules.

Amazing little hotel just outside the ruins of Herculaneum. We arrived a few hours before check in time and Nicko was super accommodating and let us check in early. The ruins were literally only a few steps away. The hotel and room were very comfortable. The breakfast and espresso were great and we enjoyed the view of the sea while we ate in themorning. My partner and I stayed only one night. We liked it so much that we wished we had booked another night there. Absolutely charming place and Nicko was the perfect host (and very handsome, I might add!) Thank you for the great memories!

The staff were friendly and very helpful. All of them. Without exaggeration. The hotel is just across the archeological site. Easy to reach downhill from the Circumvesuviana train station. The breakfast is great. You can even order freshly baked sfogliatelle! What most people do not know is that the hotel is on the famous Miglio d'oro road jam packed with majestic villas, some in appalling condition, some beautifully restored. Do your research, take a nice walk and visit the ones that are open. A lot of the villas are a short walk away from the hotel, as is the Reggia Portici, a treat in itself with its garden and botanical garden. And if you do decide to venture beyond the Scavi south-bound, definitely go to Bar Fiorillo (on Corso Vittorio Emanuelle 1, which is actually a stretch of the famous road) and ask for the orange flavoured coffee---if you want a real treat. It was an unexpected and re-energizingly nice surprise for us.

It's the eateries available generally in Ercolano/Portici that we had most problems with during our stay. The place is not ready in this sense to host tourists--maybe the day-trippers who will be on a sandwich diet are set and safe. A useful tip for the desperate ones: avoid Pappamonte, however inviting in terms of location. Instead, walk up the street towards the Ercolano Scavi station and get any of the tasty pizzas at the no-frills yet rather romantically named Luna Caprese pizzeria. Much better choice for any time of the day. If you stay for longer, plan your lunches and dinners carefully and in time.

This was our first night in Italy - Ercolano, The room was perfect :-) The staff were very helpful and also surprised us with a bottle of bubbly as it was our honeymoon. Also a perfect base to see Herculaneum site and close to the train station to get to Pompeii too. Breakfast was now looking back the best of our stay and the coffee was amazing! We also loved the pizza from across the road it was called Ro.Vi makes the best pizzas ever!.

The staff and in particular the manager were very welcoming. The hotel is right opposite the entrance to Herculaneum so ideal if your visiting the ruins. Mount Vesuvius is behind the hotel and the location is very atmospheric. One ofour rooms even had a balcony overlooking Herculenium. We had wine on the roof Terrace and dinner in the restaurant opposite. When we were there there was a massive storm in the middle of the night which was spectacular once we had established that it wasn't Vesuvius erupting! The rooms are clean and the beds very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
