DOGANA RESORT

Very nice hotel just half an hour north of Bari. Perfect place to stay for anyone looking to visit less popular parts of beautiful Italian coast. This is one of the best hotels in Molfetta, the staff is absolutely superb, the restaurant is top class and the view from our balcony was unforgettable. As a foreign tourist in Italy you might feel ignored or let down sometimes, especially if you visit popular tourist destinations. In Dogana Resort in Molfetta you will feel most welcome as their customer service is at highest level. We hope to visit Puglia again in future.

The only thing the did not have sufficient amount of storage at the rooms: no wardrobe for clothing, no shelves, no chest of drawers - making a bit difficult and messy looking after unpacking. Anyway, there is one rail for hangers and they supplied more hangers if needed.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dogana Resort, and I can confidently say that it was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the resort's stunning location, right on the port and overlooking the magnificent sea. The proximity to the sea provided great views, and I was lucky enough to have a sea view room, which only enhanced the overall experience. Waking up to the sight of the sparkling waters and watching the sunset from my room was truly a treat for the senses. Dogana Resort truly has it all. From its spacious and impeccably clean rooms, to the exceptional staff who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay, every aspect of this resort is top-notch. The rich and delicious breakfast a la carte, the remarkable dinner offerings, and the resort's prime location by the sea all contribute to an unparalleled experience. Whether you're seeking relaxation, adventure, or simply a luxurious retreat, Dogana Resort is the perfect destination. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Perfect spot , easy to get to , felt very welcoming and nice inside. The area felt safe outside for night walks. The returning fishing boats with daily catches close by to see daily life and interactions was genuinely authentic. I wish we could have stayed longer as this location has lots to offer. The hotel restaurant was excellent and you should eat here. The rooftop to the sitting and bar area has a great view in this 4 story building over the little Harbor area. Some really good hang out spots in the hotel. The room was excellent beds where comfortable and good night sleep was easy. Wifi is excellent, the room was quiet with no noisy neighbors sounds. Valet services are on the ball and parking and car scheduled return gets top stars they provide excellent service. I would stay here again in a minute.

That I didn't stay longer. Nothing to complain about here.

The property is immaculate. The hotel is a renovated monastery and it’s absolutely breathtaking. Its very well-maintained and cleaned impeccably. It’s very quiet as well. You barely here the other guests. There us a nice rooftop bar as well as a nice lounger to sit and do work. The staff are wonderful! Breakfast is elegant and delicious—you have many options to choose from. The chef is fantastic! the food is certainly on a Michelin level in quality and presentation. The concierge is wonderful and the restaurant staff know food and wine so you get an education and a wonderful dinner. Simone, Giacomo, and Stella are fantastic and such gems.

The spa was closed even though it was advertised as open. The bar was also closed in the day after breakfast and didn’t reopen until 6:30pm. If you wanted a snack or lunch it was unavailable in the hotel. The hotel is pricey even though many of amenities such as spa, rooftop bar, and restaurant bar. I think they should have offered something because of inconvenience to the guest. If you rely on taxi for transportation they will try to rip you off so rent a car if you stay here, it will be way cheaper in the long run. The train station to Bari and other cities is about a 15 min walk down a nice area with plenty of shops and restaurants.

We (a family with 2 kids) had an apartment with a sea view and it was really worth it! The view was just incredible. The staff was great and helpful, above all the man working in the evening - Fabrizio (I think) was very polite and willing to answer all our questions. The continental breakfast was served in the restaurant and was also great, very tasty, and varied. The minibar was included (prosecco, coke, Fanta, water)and refilled every day. We also used the service of parking (20 EUR/day) - we handed over the car keys at the reception, left the car in front of the hotel, and somebody has taken the car into a parking house and brought it back to the agreed time. Driving in narrow streets and looking for parking is for strong nerves and it needs a lot of time. We stayed at the Dogana Resort in November, the weather was just fine, the only problem was that it was dark very early so we could not enjoy a long day sightseeing - there is so much to see in Puglia. But during the summer it must be very hot here. We will definitely come back again to this region and into Dogan Resort of course:-)

Nothing at all

The medieval architecture, white stone, elegance and the historical significance of the property is awe-inspiring and takes one back in time to when the Italians were the leaders in European artisan style, excellence and beauty. Near the beach, restaurants and a quaint church, we were able to enjoy a variety of cuisine and we saw two weddings at the chapel adjacent to the hotel.

Because of a mobility impairment, I had some challenges with the marble stones which pave the streets. Also, I had an accessible hotel room which I think these rooms should be on the first floor in case of emergency. While waiting for the elevator one morning, the electricity went out for about ten minutes. I was on the third floor and am unable to safely ambulate the stairs. Fortunately, the electricity returned and I could take the lift. This gave me a little anxiety because I didn’t know if I would get stuck on it.

We loved it all. After all, it was our second time that we visited the place in 4 months even if it took us over 1.000 km driving to get there. We love Puglia, and Molfetta is a perfect starting point to explore, Dogana resort is absolutely charming and Molfetta Port area is giving you an authentic experience as there are no other hotels or big tourist attractions in the area...

Excellent location in a beautiful building overlooking the water. The room was fresh and very clean. The breakfast was cooked to order with good coffee. Lovely rooftop bar. Overall a very good experience.

Parking is a bit tricky but free if you can get a space; otherwise there are pay lots or valet. Nespresso machine in the lobby was nice, but it would be better to have one in each room.

Beautiful view from rooftop bar area. Friendly and professional staff. Very clean and sophisticated ambiance. Fantastic selection of Regional wines. The food was out of this world and the chef paired my wine perfectly. Will definitely return. Unfortunately there is no pool but considering the location, it wasn't needed. No parking but a valet parking service is provided by the hotel.

A great location in an authentic Puglian seaside town. Professional and friendly staff with a special mention to Fabrizio for his very good restaurant suggestions. A room with a view of the harbor is the way to go and the roof top bar was ideal for an evening drink.

Would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in our room.
