Hotel Alloggio Del Conte

Excellent value for the price. This is not a fancy hotel, but for 50 USD I was very happy. Close to the port and Duomo subway, close to Porta Noiana train stop. Friendly and helpful owner, always on site, so he can keep your bags Excellent bed, aircon, towels. Bathroom might use some updating. Not too nosy from the street (although some fireworks did start nearby triggering all the dogs). The street felt safe at night, although a bit dirty when stores are open, daytime.

The noise from inside. This is one floor of a building, divided into rooms. You can hear everything happening at the reception, the door slamming when other guests arrive or leave. Earplugs needed. The streets looks dirty in the daytime, but surprisingly calm at night.

The host is great guy, very helpful, very polite and speaks English. The hotel itself is in good location, near the central train station, it's right over a good general store. The rooms are fairly clean, everything in the room works /TV, AC, hot water, WiFi, etc/. The owner shows you all the good spots to visit in the city, all the best restaurants to eat, how to get there and other useful information . The cleaned our room every day, fresh towels were provided.

The bathrooms can use a bit of an update, and a little more cleaning.

For the price of the hotel, it was great. The hosts could not do enough to help and were clearly knowledgable about the area and gave plenty of recommendations for things to do, see and places to eat. The room was comfortable and clean whilst being away from any main streets so noise really wasn't an issue. The hotel is walkable to the main part of the city aswell as the spanish quarter so once we were there, there was no reason to use any other mode of transport other than walking.

From the outside the hotel looks a little dated, however don't be fooled by this when you see the photos. As most other people have suggested stay away from central train station at night (the hosts will tell you this also) and follow the directions given by the host to get to the hotel as they will provide better directions as oppose to Apple maps.

I liked that the staff was very open in many ways. Just as I arrived they offered help with locating all things I wanted to see on a printed map they provided. They were not mad when I asked them to repeat certain things.They were very patient with my italian, didn't rush me and helped me whenever I asked for help with my grammar. I see their behaviour as a mix of great italian virtues, but to someone unfamiliar - they were kind, open and treating you like a family. And just as a good family - if we encountered slight problems, we turned them into jokes so that we wouldn't feel uncomfortable at all. The staff would always make sure I didn't feel out of place. And then - we resolved issues in seconds. The room was very nice and clean. Was cleaned each day after 11. The reception also had some travel guidance things, as well as some italian/english books to read. The location is fantastic to all who want to be close to Centrale station. It is a very convenient place, in 20 minutes you can be on the station to catch a train, metro or a bus (to the airport for example). Also, if anybody is into that - the hotel is located just by the mercato, so you can see alot of fish and vegetables. Just downstairs, there is also a supermarket and around are also some nice caffe's. Very nice and well organized place.

I found it weird that I wasn't given a remote control to the air conditioning. I noticed it was turned on each day while I was gone, probably during cleaning, because the air was much better when I was back in the evening. But not sure why couldn't I myself decide about it. Maybe it has sense and I'm just not aware. Anyway, not a huge problem bc I didn't feel the heat at all. Just curious why it was planned this way.

The location is superb - close to the old city, very close to the main train station and suburban trains to Pompeii/Sorrento, and also close to the ferry port. The owners/staff, a kind and decent local couple, were available when needed for check-in and provided helpful sightseeing advice and map. They also provided an extra blanket when I asked for one.

The mattress was a bit old for the first 2 nights of my stay - I could feel the springs underneath my back. It costs 5 euro per day to store bags here - signage in the hotel only mentions 5 euro (without mention of per day), so beware if planning to leave luggage for an extended period.

It was close to the Port, I only needed to stay for a night I came from Canada later in the evening and the reception was open for my arrival. The man was very friendly and figured out my ferry time and called me a taxi in the morning and waited with me until it arrived. I loved this place. Make sure the taxi driver knows where he is going. Mine got lost and tried to get me to book else where. He said it was a rough part of town. This was not rough looking to me. Where the lost taxi driver took me earlier was. 25 euros from airport not 40 like my cab driver tried.

A practical, very clean and nice place. The price was great for a single traveller.

Location was just five minutes from the airport bus stop at Piazza Garibaldi (itself just a ten minute ride from the airport) The staff were honestly amongst the best hotel staff I have encountered on my travels. Upon check in I was provided with a map with some of the most in-depth information about the city and local area, really felt like they wanted my stay to be exceptional, and it worked!

This is one of the few hotels I have stayed in where there is honestly nothing I would have changed

the hotel was very nicee !! the staff very helpful ! it had stairs but the owner helped us with the suitcases ! they charge 5e the air-conditioning but we didn't need it!!! It is close to the train station and the Centre but we were 2 girls and unfortunately we were very scared !! thank you so much the hotel was perfect but the city center of Naples i wouldn't recommend to anybody

It was close to everything we needed but we didn't feel safe in Naples generally

The hosts were very welcoming and kind. Antonio gave us a map of Naples and marked the best places to go, the best restaurants, etc. Emily took great care for us and our room. They made our stay in Naples unique and made us feel special. They even gave us a table and two chairs so we can enjoy the sunny weather on the terrace. I had great time there and I hope I could go again. Naples may seem a little unorganized and/or not safe at first sight. But from my stay I am convinced this is a beautiful city with warm people, who are kind, supporting and have a strong sense of community. The location was more than perfect for us - we could reach the train station for 10 minutes, so we could easily go to the airport, Vesuvius, Pompeii, the train museum. The hotel is on a walking distance from Castel Nuovo, Castel d'Ovo, the Royal Palace of Naples, the Bourbon tunnel and if you're okay with longer walks, even the catacombs and Castel San'Elmo. Visiting the tunnel and the catacombs gave me the best proofs how great are the people of Naples. It was nice that we could talk about Naples with our hosts. I've read a review that their English is not very good. Well, mine neither, not my Italian, and yet we understood each other and we had nice time. I would strongly recommend this place. You can enjoy the spirit of Naples, the warmth of the locals and to be close to everything.

I can't think of downsides. I don't think you could find better value for the money.

Nice hosts, comfy bed, cleaning and changing towels everyday, espresso from the host. Nice atmosphere of old and dirty Naples, I really liked it. It maybe looks scary, but I haven’t any problem even at night. Very tasty pizza nearby (dont wait in the line to da Michele, go to „Pizzeria passionamij”), market on the ground floor. No problem with late check-out.

Little bit old furnishing of the room, water pressure and you hear every room and corridor. But it’s old building, so thats normal.
