Hotel Art Resort Galleria Umberto

The best of everything was that the hotel is located in the middle of the city centre close to all shops and restaurants, walking distance to almost everything.

To much noise in the hotel. The rooms are bad isolated you can hear almost everything all from people walking talking and from the breakfast and lobby. But otherwise very nice hotel

Liked the place where it is. Close to everything. Also interior is good and etc. In general good and nice hotel.

Hotel is in 3rd and 4th floor. Also at night some homeless people sleeping in gallery and gates are closed. You should call reception to get in, so this is not comfortable and sometimes a bit scary when reception not answering quickly as you would expect. Also elevator to pay 0.10€ per lift not very convenient. But in general hotel is good, what I have mentioned here are the minor things visitors should know in advance. It’s Naples :)

The location is excellent, in Galleria Umberto, just in front of San Carlo Opera House and Piazza del Plebiscito, and very close to the city center. I went to the Opera and it was crossing the street. The staff is super helpful and speaks English. The room is nice and spacious, with balcony, Kitchenet and a new bathroom.

it is in a 4th floor but with elevator so you need patience to wait for it. but it is also an opportunity to exercise and take the staircase, which I did. unfortunately the area at night is fool of garbage and homeless people that get together in the area, so it does not feel so safe at night.

Great location for central Naples. Can get to many sights within a few miles (relative easy flat walking). Our first trip to Naples and Amalfi area. We love artistic-oriented hotels/B&Bs near the heart/hub of cities and this fit well. seemed very safe & accommodating. Was kept quite clean. Would definitely consider again if returning to Naples. Elevator was slightly odd but added to European charm and authenticity.

Could've provided chilled bottled water without charge, and better in-room morning coffee service; was just pot to boil water and instant coffee packets.

The location is perfect: right next via Toledo in the Spanish Quartier and very close to bus station. There are lots of great restaurants and shops near by and tourist attractions. The interior is very clean and nicely decorated with modern art pices and also some vintage ones. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

You could let guests know that the elevator requires 10 cents coin to function at certain hours so the first time they arrive they won’t have to climb the stairs with the bags. Also they charge for the minibar.

Incredible location! Right in the heart of Napoli, 10-15 mins drive from airport (book via hotel, it's 35 euros! On the way to the hotel we got scammed by men who weren't legitimate taxi drivers for 130 euros!!), 10mins walk from the port, 2-3mins walk to bars and restaurants and shops. A wonderful room looking out at the theatre, and a view of the port in the distance. The room had very high ceilings and was really spacious. Sabrina on the desk is so lovely and friendly and welcoming and helpful! She was the best member of staff we met.

You have to pay 10cents to use the elevator at certain times of the day and night. I think this is for the hotels security but it's not ideal fishing out 10cents every time you want to get up to your room. The room also doesn't have an iron; reception will bring you one if you ask, but they didn't bring an ironing board.

We had the Junior Suite, so was a good size and the air conditioning excellent. There was some double doors like a balcony, but not, but could sit looking out as if it were. We had tea making facilities and a tiny fridge which was good. We also had a bit of a view, but the hotel looks directly across to the Teatro Carlo in this direction. Location was very good, and could walk most places, if not, not far to the metro, and very convenient funicular around the corner to Sant Elmo.

Unfortunately the double glazing was not sufficient for blocking out the traffic noise (which was bearable) But whilst we were staying in July, there was a music festival in the park opposite where extremely loud music was played until 1am for three nights (Fri, Sat, Sun). Luckily we had earplugs.

Amazingly helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was extraordinarily good for Italy, if a little heavy on tempting sweets. But still plenty of healthy choices. Breakfast room staff very friendly and attentive. Perfect location for walking around the old part of the city -- yet not as crowded as the real heart of the old town. A few steps from Teatro San Carlo, which was perfect because I came for the opera. About the art part -- quirky decor transforms quite basic rooms into something special. Very good value for the money.

Make sure to bring a lot of 10-cent (Euro cents of course) coins. The hotel is right inside the Galleria and has the quirkiest lift I've ever seen. When the concierge/porter/security guard is on duty downstairs, you need to pay 10 cents to make the lift work. When that person is not there, the lift works like any other. No one in the hotel could explain to me the connection between 10-cent charge and the person sitting in a booth ignoring every visitor and chatting with friends. They all just shrugged their shoulders and said it's a mystery. The hotel is on a high floor so most will likely need the lift.

The hotel was beautiful as expected. The personal was very friendly and very helpful. the room were very clean as was the daily service The breakfast was very good and varied. The airco was very good (important when is it is >30oC outside) Very near to shopping street, a big further away to Historical center but still at walking distance.

The access is annoying. the hotel is at the 3rd and 4th floor and you need to use a small elevator requiring 10 cent to function (not at all time which makes it even more complicated in the beginning) although the hotel provide you with the necessary change. When we arrived, I had to ask for the change to the (astonished) taxi driver...

Lovely building with fabulous features The mix of old and new worked well. Modern bathroom facilities along with wonderful bedroom traditional replica furniture. Firm bed mattress, air conditioner in the room made for comfort but the traffic noise was disturbing.

Traffic noise at nighttime disrupted my sleep. The location was great and we did book for the location expecting we might suffer traffic noise. Secondary glassing would be an obvious choice but expensive.
