Hotel Il Duca barbablu

The hotel was perfect in every aspect. Is located right in the middle of an old citadel so driving towards it gets you through the Imperial Gate (Porta Imperiale), and the building is from 1700's so is an historically protected building. Rooms were equipped with AC so returning to a 20 something degrees room after a full day in the heat was amazing. Hotel seems to have been recently renovated so everything felt fresh and clean. The restaurant served a consistent variety of Italian dishes (some with different names then expected) and at least the ones we tried were top quality. Staff was really friendly and helpful and constantly tried to make our stay there more than comfortable. I highly recommend the place to anyone who wants to spend some quiet days in Lombardy.

Being located a bit far from the main highways of Lombardy the access is via two main local roads which are not in their best shape. So after driving on highways you have to bear approximately 20-30 minutes on not so good roads.

You must stay here. What a memorable one night stay. Right in the heart of Sabbioneta Newly opened. Modernised tasteful design of restaurant bar and dining area and upstairs rooms Room super comfy. Super clean. Wifi fast and stable. Very quiet and peaceful Met several staff members. All warm and welcoming. A particular thanks to the very professional kind young woman who moved me to the quiet side as they were having a well deserved celebration in the inner courtyard. I was very grateful Breakfast. Lovely ambience. Great expresso. Fresh cut apple appreciated. Such good value for money. I would very highly recommend this property

We had a very good short stay in this B&B. Our room was new and much bigger than expected.

You have to choose what you want for breakfast on the evening before. A buffet - even if small- would be preferable.

a really great place in a fantastic city! great, friendly staff. We had a new, big, room. Nice bathroom! Everything tidy! excellent. I would recommend it to everybody.

A newly renovated hotel with a restaurant that serves amazing pizza. Complimentary water & great wifi and staff were always available for whatever you needed.

nice room nice restaurant but too noisy to sleep

too much noise from the restaurant / not sound proof at all on top some noisy people coming in at 4 am very annoying, need to remind people how to behave

New renovated hotel located in a country side location. If you get lost in that area this hotel is the only option.

Rooms are not soundproof and we could hear the noise from the restaurant till 23:30. After closing at 22:00 the emoloyees did more noise than the guests till 23:30. If you plan to sleep after 23:30 is ok. Food from restaurant is average.
