Hotel Capri

Great hotel for the money, I think the rooms could do with a little updating but the downstairs of the hotel and breakfast area is really lovely. Staff are super welcoming

Breakfast was lovely, the staff are super and on hand if you need anything, great continental range of food to help yourself, or the chef can come out and make you an omelette or fresh pancakes! Hotel staff in general are amazing, friendly, helpful and always smiling! Rooms are a good size, modern, nice walk in shower and big bed with mini fridge, pool was great too, perfect for a swim after a walk around the town- as close to town centre with great restaurants.

For us the beds weren’t comfortable, but that’s personal preference. Apart from that everything else was very good!

- breakfast: lots of options, there was even a pancake machine - location: super close from bus and train station, short walk from city center - pool: it was all we needed after walking under the really hot august summer

- service was not really friendly - hotel bar closed too soon, even the pool service (it closed at 18:00, but we had sun until 20:00) - room was too small for 3 people (would have been fine for 2)

Hotel Capri is in a great location, 5 minutes walk from the Circumvesuviana station, 10 minutes from the old town with several good restaurants and bars nearby. Staff were friendly and really helpful. The breakfast was good with a good choice of hot food, freshly cooked on request, cold meats and cheeses, fruit, cakes and pastries. The pool was nice with comfortable loungers and deck chairs and you could find sun and a shady corner, when needed. La Cantinaccia del Popolo restaurant was only 5 minutes away and was as good as we had expected from other travellers reviews. They usually let people in at 6.45pm, but you really need to be there 40 minutes before to guarantee getting in for the first sitting

The aircon had a mind of its own and was almost impossible to set correctly. At night we had to turn it off on the main circuit breaker to ensure it did not come on, and sometimes it would not come on when we needed it. Very strange. The only other small complaint was the toaster at breakfast which was incredibly slow and difficult to use

Beautiful new property in the heart of Sorrento, great location to walk to all the main sites and to the ferry port to do day trips to the various islands; rooms were beautiful, new and clean; staff were lovely and super helpful always. The breakfast offered in the hotel was also fantastic the lemon lollies offered at the hotel reception desk were a super nice touch. Hotel is across the road from Franco’s pizza which is a super popular pizza place in Sorrento so be sure to check this out for dinner one night!

Rooms were a little smaller vs. what we were expecting from the pictures we saw when we booked. We also had issues with our shower, it seems the design of it meant every time we had a shower water would leak all over the bathroom floor. The housekeeper lady was kind enough to give us extra towels for the floor so that when we experienced this issue we were able to dry the floor properly

The hotel is absolutely beautiful inside and the room is of a good size. It was very clean and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful in answering all the queries we had. You’re allowed to leave the luggage in the hotel after the check-in for storage. The location is also very convenient and close to a train station, bus stop, shops, restaurants etc.

We had the room facing the busy street (second floor), so it was quite noisy late in the evening/night. It didn’t bother us too much, but if you’re sensitive to the sounds from the street, you might want to ask a room facing back-garden.

Our room (Junior suite) was tastefully decorated with an extremely comfortable bed and pillows. The balcony was large and had a nice area to lounge in the sun or enjoy a drink or meal. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a good assortment of breakfast options for various tastes. The rail and bus station was in close proximity to the hotel which was very convenient for travelling from/ to Naples and to take the bus to Positano and Amalfi. The ferry port is also within a 10 minute walking distance which is convenient to take to the island of Capri or around the Amalfi coast. It is more expensive but worth taking for the beautiful scenery. The town of Sorrento has many great restaurants and is also within walking distance. Thank you for a great stay.

There was just one thing which we did make reception aware of, it was that the air-con that dripped into the small corridor connected to the bathroom and made a puddle which I didn’t see at night and slipped. If they repair the air-con and the switch then there would be nothing to fault.

The breakfast was delicious, with lots of variety. The buffet was kept well stocked by the team and they were quick to offer to make coffee for us. The hotels location was very central and close to everything. Our room on the first night was not made up as per our request that was confirmed by the hotel upon booking but was quickly sorted.

There were a couple of maintenance deficiencies in our room, the DND light would not stay on etc but overall good. I would book again.

The hotel is amazing, the staff is lovely, the breakfast is absolutely perfect, with a huge range of cales and sweets, and fruit. the pool area is very nice, with a bar service open throughout the day. Located close to the old town area with all the streets and shops and restaurants, but just outside of that area so you don’t hear the noise during the nught. We would definitely choose this hotel again.

The bathroom could use a bit of rework, some of the fixtures were chipped away in the shower, and the drain was sometimes clogged, with the water level going up fast.

The room was comfortable and cool. No problem with the a/c! The entire staff was friendly and personable. Breakfast exceeded our expectations with a variety of hot and cold, sweet and savoury options. It was wonderful to relax by the pool and take a refreshing dip after a hot day of walking/sightseeing.

Although the garden/lemon grove was lovely, it did come with mosquito type bugs which always find me, though didn’t bother my husband.
