Comfort Hotel ERA Kobe Sannomiya

The location was extremely convenient for us. I came with friends/boyfriend, and it was a comfortable distance away from Sannomiya Station. Lots of stores and food options nearby. There is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant right next door. How convenient! Overall, very good hotel for the price. If I ever return to Sannomiya, I will be sure to book again.

The only complaint (which isn’t necessarily a big deal) would be that we asked for an ice pillow multiple times one evening (tooth ache troubles :-() but they were only able to provide us with one single one. Other than that, very accommodating.

Room was big and had enough space to open multiple luggages fully. Even enough space to workout. Breakfast is simple and had a better variety than I initially thought. Cleanliness, Staff, Amenities all great and sufficient. Conveyor sushi next door, a path to Sannomiya JR station has multiple chain restaurants and convenience stores so location is great.

Room wifi can be a bit patchy. Automated Check in machine can be a bit slow. Only two elevators in the building that are constantly in use but that's to be expected for a busy hotel in Kobe. Laundromat has only 3 machines so if you wanna do coin laundry pray that they aren't all in use! But these were just small negatives and the hotel is doing a great job

Our twin room was very spacious with a small dining table and 2 chairs. The room was clean and very well appointed. It was very secure, requiring a card to use the lift. It was very quiet, which was wonderful. It was about 150m from Sannomiya station as well as to access to all the buses in the area. Shops were almost next door. The breakfast was lavish and we really enjoyed the comfort library to have a cuppa or enjoy the relaxed surrounds. Towels can be refreshed daily if you require them. We were able to leave our suitcases in the lobby using a lock you set yourself.

There was very little English spoken by the staff on the day we checked in, and English signage compared to other cities appeared limited, but most of the facilities were self-explanatory.

Comfortable bed, good size bathroom, clear view toward the nearby mountain (our room was on the top floor, it helps) and when opening the window, the noise level from outside was very reasonable, despite being plain centre of Kobe. Arriving late by plane to Kobe (10 PM) we appreciated a lot the proximity with Sannomiya train station, 5 minutes walk. Breakfast buffet very complete, lot of choices, and we liked the fact that later in the day the breakfast place remained opened, with free drinks, to chill down, read a book (it would be nice to have a manga corner with some English ones by the way :)), etc

Ony one small thing: check-in and check-out through machines is not our thing - especially when the staff is also there and helpfull, as always in Japan

It’s located in the center of everything. The hotel even offers humidifier for dry winter, though the humidifier is not that powerful.

The surface of the “night stand”- the holder under reading light was sticky - it didn’t bother me much since I fixed it by covering it with a piece of tissue. There is free coffee/tea in the library. However, it is not available before 10 am for people not buying breakfast there. That means, I had to make my own coffee in my room if I want a coffee early in the morning.

The location was excellent. It was very near Sannomiya station and shopping malls, supermarkets, streets with restaurants, convenient stores, etc. So we had loads of options to dine in or go shopping. We also had a really nice lunch at a grilled restaurant nearby (we got the recommendations from the staff at the hotel). The all-day-available welcome drinks at the hotel were also a plus. Room and bathroom were very clean.

The room was quite small compared to the one we stayed at Kyoto Horikawagojo with the same chain. Could be a tradeoff for the great location. And we couldn't watch Netflix due to the fact that the TV model didn't support it.

Excellent value hotel. Great location close to train station, places to eat and multiple supermarkets (sushi train next door was handy too). Good breakfast buffet and lovely staff who didn't mind us going in to the breakfast room with energetic small children to get coffee at 6am! Were also happy for us to eat breakfast a little early. Room was bigger than expected and good sized beds for sharing with kids. We find the comfort chain consistently great value for money, will stay again.

Located at the beginning of Sannomiya shopping area yet not so busy, allowed me to park my car in front of hotel easy for load/unload luggages. The breakfast is like food party, good vibes. Highly efficient check-in. Shops, restaurants, supermarkets everywhere including restaurants near the train stations. I love to stay here again next time I come Kobe. The twin room we booked is huge and good price. Love Kobe

Favourable location, just a few minute walk to JR station. Quiet room but easily accessible to restaurants and shopping malls.

First time self help check-in. A little difficulty facing the machine to complete the procedure. Expected counter staff to offer more help, but at that moment they were rather busy serving a few customers. Pillows too thin not good for head.

First of all, the location of the hotel is wonderful. A few minutes walk from everywhere I wanted the visit. The port, shopping centers, and gardens. The breakfast is descent enough but always crowded. In conclusion, great hotel with great service, wonderful location and very nice staff!

On "rush" hours, the wait time for elevators can be like 10 minutes... not horrible but can be annoying
