HOTEL LEGASTA KYOTO HIGASHIYAMA SANJO

The staff was very nice and welcoming. The hotel is on the opposite side of the metro and in walking distance to Kiyomizu-dera, Gion and the Yasaka Shrine. You can get coffee and juice in the entrance hall and store your luggage before checking in and out.

The room wasn't properly cleaned when we arrived and is was offered just on cleaning during our stay. Unfortunately the cleaning wasn't good. Just the trash was emptied and the towels were changed. No new sheets, dust everywhere and the trash was emptied but no new trash bag. Also there are just a limited option of restaurants in the area.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. Not only it was quite stylish inside bridging slick modern design with traditional Japanese aesthetic but the room was spacious, the bed comfortable, it was clean, quiet and not too busy! I would definitely stay there again since I am visiting Kyoto yearly. Location is also very good. Despite the lack of a washing machine, there is one outside one minute away on foot. Staff were very polite too! Keep it coming.

Amazing little hotel nearby two metro stations with different lines and in an area fully serviced with konbinis, supermarket, little restaurants and bars and overall very close to central areas of Sanjo and Gion. I really, really enjoyed my stay, especially after visiting Tokyo and Osaka where I had very tiny hotel rooms: my room at Legasta Hotel was huge, with two large single beds, spacious, separate bathroom with walk-in shower ( rare! ) and toilet, perfectly heated, wooden floors.... I relaxed there the most out of the 4 hotels I stayed at in the same trip. Staff speaks english very well, and they are all very nice and friendly: they helped me sort out a last second luggage shipping request and were pivotal in making it happen when i needed to. I recommend this hotel to everyone who need a stress-free stay in Kyoto!

The hotel is fantastic, it seems all new or recently renovated. The room was really comfortable, with a soft and thick futon and a brutalism-inspired decor that we personally love. It was perfectly clean. A lot of small and useful tools were offered for free and there is coffee milk and orange juice at the reception available for breakfast. The location is at walking distance from the city center and there are nice small restaurants and bakeries in the area. The price was really great for the service provided. We arrived in the evening and we could check in around 10 pm which is an additional perk.

we loved the tradition style of the room and especially the location as it was right opposite the metro station and on a fab bus route that went right to the famous Gion geisha district etc and lots of convenience stores around for good bits ( also check out a small shop opposite that sells second hand kimonos etc . I personally bought lots for very little money all of excellent quality ).

Although they call this property a hotel they’re wasn’t the hotel facilities ie complimentary bottled water in the room ( which in Japan is very normal ) no coffee machine , or no breakfast offered , or no washing machines (which again is very normal in Japan )but if you just want a lovely room in a fab area then choose this new hotel .

Everything. From the welcoming staff to the the vibe of the place. The room was excellent, beautiful, quiet, comfortable. Location was perfect for what I needed. The quick on the go coffee set up in the lobby is an amazing touch. The staff was also kind enough to welcome our guests as they waited for me in the lobby and they complimented the place too. Will come back!

Not enough towels for a four days stay. I don't mind the cleaning services being once every four days for the entirety of the room but I wish it had at least as many towels as nights we were staying. Especially with the heat outside, keeping showers to the minimum was simply just an option. . The coffee machine in the lobby was a great touch but I failed to have a good coffee every time I tried it. Left almost of my attempted cups on the counter without drinking them except one out of despair.

This was the perfect hotel for this trip. The staff was wonderful and very understanding of our needs. The room was spacious, with wonderful tatami floor, beautiful window, and beautiful bathroom. The location was wonderful!! Super easy access from the metro, easy to find and very well located. A quiet neighborhood but quite close to the main areas of the city. It was the perfect stay!

It would have been helpful to have some kind of laundry service or washing machine close by, as well as some sort of breakfast or possibility to find something extra in the reception.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed. I was most impressed with the room architecture. Slick aesthetic combined with more traditional Japanese values. Give credit to whom desined the rooms! Very comfortable. The sleep I had there was awesome. I liked the layout of the bathroom and plenty of room for the luggage. Also, nice and quiet and not overcrowded with tourist noobs and soundproof too. Staff were very friendly particularly Tanaka and the other lady that helped us check in. Cool location too.

Nothing really. It was a flawless stay. It was so good I wanted to stay even more on my new years stay but they are booked out!

Lovely modern hotel with Japanese touches close to public transport. Was a treat to have complementary coffee and orange juice in the morning. The room was spacious and the facilities were top notch considering the price. Friendly staff.

Do not recommend that you order the continental breakfast. The yogurt was tasty but the bread and pastries were stale and served without any butter or jam. You also had to fetch your breakfast box in the lobby and eat in your room.
