Great location, nice staff, good buffet breakfast with a beautiful view from the 17th floor.English newspaper provided!

Swimming pool is just for fitness. It is attached to a public club so not exclusively for hotel guests. fee is 3300¥ and also only for adults. It was when I booked with my 3 year old we thought we would be able to swim but was not clear when booking. Booking.com said the facility had a pool but wasn’t clear additional fee required and age restrictions applied. Also coffee at breakfast was average.

Staff were very friendly and responsive, with flexible early check-in accommodated for us. The rooms were comfortable with large beds, and the bathroom was also well equipped. We enjoyed the view of the city and mountains from our hotel. The hotel had many restaurants and shops, including an ATM machine which allowed us to withdraw cash from a foreign account. The laundry service was also exceptional. Very clean. Excellent location with taxis always available. The breakfast indicated allergies (i.e. gluten-free, nuts, etc) for each dish which was very helpful. The soba restaurant in the basement had gluten-free (juwari) soba noodles, but we still needed to bring our own gluten-free sauce. Huge and spacious lobby, good space as a meeting point. Excellent food quality.

We were surprised we had to pay for the gym. We had switched hotels to Okura Hotel for the gym, but then found out that we had to pay an extra fee for use every time (i.e. for each entry) which was not worthwhile for short visits to the gym. Otherwise, due to Corona, there were reduced restaurant opening hours, but this was not just specific to the hotel. We were slightly disappointed that there were no gluten-free dishes available at the lobby restaurant.

This was the best hotel we have stayed in, the staff were amazing. We would highly recommend the Hotel in every category you can come up with. The room was comfortable and spacious, the view was spectacular and the location was perfect. A walk away from the underground, which was easy to navigate, restraints, cafes and fresh fruit and vegies. It is a 15 minute walk to the Nishiki markets which I. Itself was an amazing place.

There was nothing to not like. We would however have loved to try the two restraints which unfortunately due to timing happened to be closed when we visited. But I can assure you we will return to Kyoto and stay at the hotel Okura.

-Massive room & bed -professional & attentive staff -very clean -amazing service -nice bathroom products -Very comfy bed, had a great sleep -incredible location, walking distance to everything -lobby cafe had tasty cream puffs & coffee as well as amazing looking baked sweets -direct access within the building to the subway & mall

-room service food was not super tasty, but definitely not terrible. Just a bit interesting. Ordered French toast which seemed to be a big omelette served with maple syrup. Very eggy and not sweet. Had mixed fruit in the side (cost more as it was its own dish) which was a small serving of not quite ripe fruit for a lot of money. -room service food & restaurants within the building are very expensive in comparison to the local area for the same quality

Breakfast and the location were great! The morning meal is served in two locations depend on your preference for a Japanese style or mixed style buffet. The location is near enough to amenities and attractions, or at least the trains/subways needed to access them. There is even a small kimono rental store next door if you prefer something convenient instead of going all the way to Gion and doing the rentals there. There is also a shuttle service to take you to and from the train station to get to and from Kansai airport. The room we were assigned was spacious and roomy for two people, with space to spare.

Nothing to complain about!

The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, has a way to get to the subway without having to go outside (nice on a rainy day), and had lots of shops underneath. The rooms were spacious compared with most rooms in Japan, and the beds were a little more comfortable than other hotels. The staff was very friendly and easily capable of communicating in English.

Part of the reason I chose this hotel was for the pool, which a lot of hotels in Japan do not have. However, it is not explained on the site that the pool is only for adults (it says the fitness center is, but doesn't say this for the pool). I was very disappointed in this and would have stayed somewhere else, had I known this. Also, it does say that the laundry is an additional charge, but 770yen for one shirt or blouse, 1210yen for one pair of trousers, etc is outrageous. Other hotels that say the same thing (laundry for an additional charge) cost 500 yen for an entire load, from wash to dry. So, I had to go find a coin laundry nearby to do my laundry.

We liked the spacious room, the city view, the amenities, the offered assistance. The western breakfast with fresh baked eggs was a welcome start of the day, even though we tried the Japanese at the Japanese restaurant which was well executed to Japanese standards. The elevator was smooth and fast after starting. The location with own access/exit from the metro mall was something we came to appreciate more and more during our stay. If we visit Kyoto again, we will come back.

There was a small hindrance that occured during the stay, but upon notification the staff reacted swift and adequate. We also received a written reply with taken action, which was appreciated.

The hotel was in the very good location (directly connected to the subway station), so it was pretty easy to get around in Kyoto. The rooms were very spacious with very clean and spacious bathrooms. They also have spectacular breakfasts (you can either choose the buffet (both Japanese and Western) or the Japanese meal at two different restaurants, so you can try both if you are staying there multiple nights. If you are also taking the tour bus by Kyoto Teiki Kanko Bus, this hotel is one of the hotels that they will come and pick you up to take you to the meeting place (Kyoto station), so it is very convenient. Most of all, all of the staff were very professional and extremely polite. They were very helpful to us getting around in Kyoto.

Super clean hotel and located at a subway station so its easy to travel. There is also a shuttle to kyoto train station which was usful for us at checkout. Good breakfast buffet also. Big thank you on the concierge servuce for restaurant recommandations and reservations, we had the best spots recommended.

The rooms are small and not really organised. We were in hotels that were size comparable but had more space due to furniture arrangment. Not ideal when you have 2 big suitcases. One side of the bed is directly againt the wall which makes it jard to get up at night.
