Hotel Dans Le Coeur Osaka Umeda

The French Modern design is the main thing to comment on the hotel - as it is going for a clean, French inspired Decor. Also, the location is fantastic, just a 10 minute commute from Umeda Station on street level, so easy for Suitcase movement. A bonus is that it (we timed it) took us exactly 7 minutes without stopping from check out to the Airport Bus Station at Umeda - allowing for forward planning for those who must catch early flights. Lastly, hotel is right in the heart of a shopping arcade area with shops, restaurants and bars everywhere!

Only one comment - We entered the hotel initially from the underground complex linking from Umeda Station. Finding it was not the issue but we both had the same thought on what we encountered. A lone staircase leading up to the door reading the Hotels Name. Now, for us with medium sized luggage, we had no issue lugging our suitcases up this staircase. But we thought, "What about people with bigger bags who didn't expect this or someone who uses a Wheelchair?" - They would have to find an alternative convoluted route in order to access the hotel so BE WARNED before you enter through the Underground Arcade. Highly recommend streel level route, flat surfaces all the way and an easy 10 minute walk from Umeda Station.

Location is 7 mins walk to Osaka Station, 1min walk to entry to the Subway, lots of eateries ,

If you are coming to this hotel with many large pieces of luggage, then you’d better take M13 exit for there’s an elevator nearby.

The hotel is in a great location - easy to access via the underground shopping area from Umeda Station. Rooms were lovely although fairly small, staff were great and there was a 7/11 outside the front of the hotel. Lots of shops and restaurants within a short walk from the hotel and easy to get around Osaka from here. We booked 3 hotel rooms and were pleased that they were next to each other. Having a laundry onsite was really helpful too as we were there for a week.

We did go for breakfast at the hotel one morning about 30min before closing but they advised that there was very little left which was a shame. If you are going to eat breakfast there go earlier. Apart from this the hotel was fantastic and I would stay here again.

Great location connected through the underground mall to Osaka station. Very brief one night stay with family to visit Universal Studios and it was perfect. We could walk from the main train station underground and avoid the cold outside, have dinner in the restaurants in the mall just below the hotel and then catch the train the next morning only a short walk away. It was only a couple of stops to the bullet train station when we left also. The room was full of the beds but the bathroom was clean and had a good shower. Plenty of towels and toiletries. We didn't really try any other facilities. Overall, perfect for a brief stop and we would stay again for similar. Would be snug for 4 people for an extended stay.

Great location because very accessible from the train station (and not just from the street). Everything you need for quick fixes such as convenience stores, restaurants, and drug stores are nearby.

Maybe they were just rushing that day but we found dust balls and a very dusty plastic bag underneath our bed (we only found it because we dropped something between our beds) More innovative storage solutions, especially for the triple room. We placed our luggage on top of the bay window which served as our closets.

The front desk is polite and helpful although we have a communication barrier (We speak English but reception can't) but a funny body language to deal with the staff quite a funny experience., 😄

I hope the front desk staff can have an English training course in order to serve the customer else it is a bit hard to communicate although we have installed translator apps

The most I like about is the direct connection to the underground shopping streets that will take you to 6 shopping malls, JR and metro stations. Perfect for rainy days. Also, there is a cafe right next to the hotel main entrance and 7-eleven and Sushiro just around the corner of the hotel. We stayed in a 3 beds room that is pretty big in Japan in my opinion, we can open 2 suitcases at the same time and still have space to move inside the room.

More storage or shelf to put stuff inside the bathroom. The room is a bit dusty. We stayed on 3rd floor and it can be quite noisy as you can hear the cars from the street.

Well located small hotel close to Osaka main train station and downtown. Rooms not huge but adequate and very clean. Good check in. Japanese breakfast was good, not as extensive for continental options. Great location for lively night-time restaurant area right next door, and only a few subway stops to Osaka Castle and galleries. Would have liked to spend a few more nights in Osaka, and would have been happy to stay longer at Hotel Dans Le Coeur.

I received a very warm welcome on arrival which was really appreciated following the ordeal of escaping the train station! The hotel is really well placed near the train station and has direct assess to the Whitny shopping streets below street level which has supermarkets and restaurants. The hotel has vending machines for dinks, self-service laundry machines. Its a great little hotel.

Most reviews comment on how small the rooms are, and this is true, but this is Japan and space is at a premium, for the price you pay the rooms are great and well equipped.
