HOTEL HILLARYS Shinsaibashi

Incredibly close to the local train station (literally on the same street as one of the exits). A 10 minute walk to Dotonburi. This hotel is right in the action, with nightclubs, bars and pubs lining the streets. Unlike in Tokyo, people walk where ever they want here as the area is made up of narrow one way streets. The hotel had good facilities and was clean. Expected that it would be small, but I appreciated that there was a separate vanity and mirror outside of the bathroom (i believe we paid for the deluxe rooom and it seemed worth it). We didnt have any breakfast there, but in hindsight this would have made things a bit easier given that most places dont open until late morning.

Loved the hotel and location.

The only critique was they Didn’t have extra pillows when asked which would have made the stay better

Location is great with good access to subway, shopping and Dotonbori. Room clean with decent facilities. Did not use private shower but looked fine. I used the rooftop bathhouse. Staff friendly and professional.

Can hear other guests from inside my room. Storage for my luggage within my room was little difficult due to available space without impeding the walkway. Suggest maybe some drying mats or towels between entry/exit of the bathhouse and the changeroom. The floor got quite wet especially during busy periods where multiple guests come and go. Disparity between advertised booking prices on the app and when checking in - in person. If there is a 'different' price for foreigners that should show or be made abundantly clear at time of booking. Otherwise, this leaves both the guest and the hotel staff having to awkwardly explain that additional charges need to be paid.

Great location, very helpful staff who were happy to book restaurants on our behalf, there’s coffee/tea/freshly baked bread from midday until late, there are coin laundry machines, rooms are clean, has what we needed. I guess only thing is the room is a bit small, but it’s pretty normal for Japan hotel rooms in this price range

Great location close to shopping area and public transport. Room was comfy and well designed, with everything you need. From 3 pm to 6 pm they offer small breads and coffee which was very good. It was a really good stay.

Room was a bit small.We tried the breakfast for our last morning, it was ok. Mainly Japanese food (rice, chicken, miso soup, etc) so not really my taste as I like toast and eggs. Rooftop was closed so we couldn’t go.

It’s in a great location if you like nightlife. There are an incredible number of restaurants, clubs, and bars within walking distance. There’s even a restaurant right next door and an Australian Pub directly across the street if you don’t want to walk for more than a minute. The front desk staff was friendly, and the lobby was clean. The room (two single beds) was wide by Japanese standards, and the bathroom was small but easy to use.

The nearest train station was by no means unwalkable, but it felt a bit far. My group was made of pretty slow walkers, so it took us about 15 minutes.

Location was incredible - we walked a lot to see a heap of attractions and found some amazing eateries along our way. Breakfast was so handy to have. Staff were so helpful and lovely 🥰

Mattress was a bit firm and pillows weren’t great - had to ask for 3 extra pillows to get some volume but if you’re not a pillow snob you’ll be sweet! Pretty standard shower/toilet situation for Japan - not a lot of room but that’s expected!

Theamenities and staff were great. I asked for extra pillows and received them in no time at all. The bathing area was clean and relaxing, we went every night. They also had a Yakult or ice pop outside of the Onsen depending on the time you went. The hotel location was perfect. It was close to everything we wanted to go to trains, restaurants, and night life. Would recommend to anyone!

Nothing really! If I had to choose something the room was smaller than we expected. But we really didn’t need much space.

Very comfortable stay. The room size was decent and very clean. Breakfast was very no frills, nice to try at least once. The location is pretty good, walking distance to two stations and the Shinsaibashi area is one of my fav to stay around. The staff were helpful and cheery :)

None. It's very popular so I guess book early in order not to be disappointed?
