Hotel Frances

Absolutely perfect location! We enjoyed all the major sites just steps away from the hotel. The hotel is so beautiful. The staff was charming and very helpful. Clean, Fresh and filter water always available to us. We didn't speak Spanish but they were very patient with us. We wanted for nothing. We will be staying here next trip!

The rooms are sparse but very clean. We had a charming view so we would leave our balcony doors open at night to keep us cool. No a/C in the hotel but no problem at all because it was cool at night that way. Beds were a bit stiff but after a day of walking everywhere it was a good sleep.

First they gave us a room where the bedsheed was not completly clean. As it was very late at night to change it , they gave us a new room which was even better, because it had more space. The room was very quiete which is very rare in most hotels we were. Valet parking was good. The staff was very helpfull. As the hotel is very ol ( which i like ) there were a few things missing: There are no lamps on both sides of the beds for reading. In the bathroom there is nothing to hang the towls nor any hook to hang some cloth.

Staying in an old hotel in a wonderful location was fun! The front staff was helpful and the cleaning staff were attentive. We enjoyed having a room with doors that opened to a small balcony.

The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the bathroom was tiny. It was hard to take a shower without getting the whole room wet. But we always had the option of moving to a bigger room. The rooftop was good but there weren’t any comfortable chairs to sit on.

The ambiance of this historical hotel in the heart of the city. Beautiful details, wooden and marble staircases, exquisite chandelier and fountain in the lobby. Spacious suite with the entire facility large, open and gracious. All staff were accommodating and very pleasant. Our maid went out of her way to try to fix the soap dispenser which was then replaced in a timely manner, she made such effort by towel arrangement, extra towels for use of jacuzzi and as so happy and pleasant. Parking attendant very thoroughly went over the entire vehicle even tough we took a video for ease of words. Vehicle was delivered at time requested by such a professional and pleasant valet attendant

Restaurant hours and fare could have been better and the hotel bar was only open Friday night.

The hotel was in an absolutely perfect location, had loads of historic charm (loved the old photographs of the city that adorned the walls of the common areas), and I appreciated the helpful friendly staff. I will be back !! Leonard Heim . .

The location is very centralized and in walking distance to iconic buildings and plazas.

Although it is a very beautiful hotel, built in 1610, there could be some upgrades that could help beautify the main lobby. Furnature is old and dusty, chandeliers need maintenance, features in bedrooms could be upgraded for comfort.

The hotel is very well situated in the downtown Guadalajara, close to almost everything, great restaurants near by, transportation to almost anywhere in the city, the supermarket just a few blocks away and the cathedral of Guadalajara and Teatro Degollado around the corner, also a lot of nice place to visit within a walking distance, overall a great place to stay, we will definitely use it again in a next trip to Guadalajara.

Nothing, everything was as expected or even better.

Could not ask for a better location. A half of a block off the main plaza and near the cathedral. Beautiful old hotel. Very clean.

It is noisy, the walls are thin and the floor boards creek. It is nothing the hotel can do to remedy it as the hotel is so old. Just be prepared. Our bed also was very noisy and creeked if you moved or rolled over.

The charm of a building from 1610 cannot be overstated! and the rooftop had one of the best views in town. I loved everything about this quaint and charming hotel. oh, and they had valet parking included in the rate. In addition, the had hot and cold purified water. that was greatly appreciated!

I liked it all.

The room is in good condition and it was a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is fine and the air-conditioning works well. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. The old time elevator is an additional part of the fun.

I did not have any problems or complaints.
