Hotel Mansion Iturbe

This gem of a boutique hotel is right on the main plaza but, once the windows are closed, any noise is blocked out, resulting in a delicious night's sleep in the comfortable bed. Our room was tastefully decorated, with all the modern amenities one needs but still in keeping with the colonial vibe. Step outside the hotel doorway and you have a choice of many restaurants, cafes and street vendors for your dining pleasure. Or stay inside your room and stand on the balcony while watching the activity in the plaza. I highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is perfectly located on the main square. It’s a very characterful building, with a lovely courtyard area where they serve food and drink, a sun terrace at the back and a library. We were also able to park outside the front door, which was very useful. The staff were very friendly and they did some laundry for us, which was very useful.

Our room was at the front on the square and as a result was very noisy, both at night (until around midnight) and from about 6am. Earplugs were very much required. Ask for a room away from the front.

This hotel is FABULOUS!!!. Hotel Mansión Iturbe is a magnificent colonial mansion, located in the heart of one of Mexico's most beautiful cities. It is is filled with authentic antique furniture, beautiful plants and artworks and offers unusually large rooms with all the amenities of a superb hotel. The rooms, wide balconies, central courtyard and entrance are immaculate. Staying here is an artistic experience.

Nothing. Everything was beyond my expectations.

Excellent hotel with a great staff. The place is amazingly beautiful. The rooms are huge. Beds comfortable. I have never been to a hotel where everything was spotlessly clean. The tile floors in the hallway shined. The floors in our room were impeccably clean. I should know, I go barefoot or wear white socks when indoors. The Mexican old world decor was eye-popping.

This is a fantastic hotel. The beds were comfortable, the balcony was fun to do some people watching, the staff was friendly. Most importantly, the place is gorgeous! The floors and ceilings are even works of art. The headboard in our room was hand carved. The hotel is like something you see in movies. I usually don't comment on showers in foreign countries, but the shower was exceptionally nice with great water pressure.

There was nothing NOT to like.

We had a lovely room overlooking the main square, with a nice bathroom - good shower and nice toiletries supplied. A bonus was the pod coffee maker, but no real milk or fridge. Wifi worked well for us. Our two nights there were enjoyed, the staff were polite and helpful despite the language barrier on our part. Parking was easy - just a 5 minute walk away, nice to be able to leave the car and explore this interesting place on foot. It was nice to sleep in on a morning as the shutters kept the morning light at bay. Heating or air con was available but not needed, we could open the windows for fresh air.

Our room was spacious and lovely - and had a window that could be opened for fresh air. (something I always need). The internet was very good and the location couldn't have been better. We could hear the church bells ringing but not much else. I'd stay here again!

Comfortable beds. Very big room with a balcony and French doors we were able to open to get fresh air. The casa itself is a beautiful and authentically Mexican colonial building. The location was fantastic and the main entrance was right off the zacalo. We were worried it might be noisy but once inside the doors it was incredibly quiet. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Wish they’d had coffee available in the morning but there is a great café two doorways away

Excellent restaurant in the hotel, great restaurants in the proximity of the hotel and the location for seeing the town was fantastic. The staff and service were the very best, staff went above and beyond for any need.

Although the parking was a long way off we appreciated the security of the location and the effect was minimized by the temporary parking in front of the hotel for unloading and loading our luggage. We used the vehicle for trips around the lakeside area but when in town left it in the parking. My wife and I are fit but due to the distance anyone who has mobility issues would need a cab to get there.

Everything, absolutely lovely. Cosy, historical, tasteful, clean, spacious.

Please, stop serving Nescafé in the restaurant... Mexico is a big producer of real coffee. And it would be nice to add shower gel to the provided toiletries.
