I did not have breakfast at this hotel, so can't speak on that. The location is great, right in the midst of the hustle and bustling of PDC. We stayed in Ofelia room which overlooked the courtyard. Michelle the front desk person made this trip that much more special. She went above an beyond to make sure we were comfortable. She recommended restaurant and even though it was last minute, she worked to book and get us on to a next day tour. For those departing to countries requiring c19 tests, the hotel is able to set this up for you to get tested onsite. I would stay at Hotel Lunata again

Please offer a Do NOT DISTURB sign. No one knocks on your door to ask if cleaning is needed but when we are leaving our room sometimes we do not remember to tell front desk that we don't want service. If we had a sign we would put it up.

Hotel Lunata was a lovely garden haven on 5th Avenue. when we arrived on the 5th Avenue strip - we were dropped off by the airport transfer just outside of 5th and around the corner from Lunata. To say we were overwhelmed would be a huge understatement - 5th is Las Vegas in Mexico!!! We just weren’t prepared for it. We entered Lunata and were greeted by Michelle - she was just lovely and brought us to our room “Ofelia” overlooking the Garden. Bed - very comfy loved the soft duvet shower - great toilets - great staff - helpful and pleasant, we had some trouble with our WiFi and Ivan, Michelle and another staff member all tried to help resolve the issue as quickly as possible. breakfast - coffee was ok, toast with butter and jam were available and so was cereal and tea. resident cat - very sweet, Maria resident doves - visited us on our balcony occasionally :) location - right on 5th, can be loud at night. we used a white noise app with our Bluetooth speaker and all good air conditioning- great mini-fridge - great water - right outside the room was a water dispenser and water was refreshed our room daily cleanliness- awesome. Thank you Lunata - we won’t be back to 5th Ave but we LOVED staying with you while we were there.

5th Avenue was not for us. Playa del Carmen is very busy. if you’re looking for a crazy time - great! go! If you want to relax, not really the place for it. Lunata does not have a pool - we did miss that feature because the beach was just so packed with people, the beach clubs were expensive and so busy. We took a trip to Puerto Morales- thank you Michelle for suggesting it. A lovely day. if you walk down 5th alllllll the way to Calle 72 Norte and turn right onto the sandy path you will pop out at a great public beach where you can swim all day :)

We loved our stay at Lunata. The whole experience felt very authentic - the building, the rooms, and most of all the staff. They went out of their way to make our vacation as good as possible, with great tips on what to do and where to go. They were also very warm and friendly, and made us feel at home. We appreciated that they provided us with drinking water and beach towels every day. The room was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. The location is great, and near everything.

If you are a light sleeper, the central location at Quinta Avenida may pose as a challenge, since the nightlife is quite loud. However, the staff will provide you with earplugs. For us the noise was not a problem, we slept soundly without earplugs.

Everything! I absolutely *loved* this hotel - I was a bit apprehensive about staying in the middle of party-land, but this is an oasis of calm and comfort! I had a room facing the garden at the back and the auxiliary patio doors kept out the noise at night. Lovely touches in the room - drinking glasses upside down with tissue paper to keep the edges clean, shower curtain finished off with blue ribbon and flower insert, excellent wifi... just a superb room and hotel. You have to carry your cases up the stairs (but staff did insist on offering to bring them up for me) Breakfast is simple (then again I do eat a lot, so it's probably fine for everyone else) Clean bedding, comfy bed, excellent shower and fully stocked with toiletries. Superb staff too! (Thank you all for your kindness)

Possibly a bit more at breakfast - if I *have* to pick out something. But that's all. Everything else was perfect.

The hotel is very beautiful. An old building in the middle of 5th Street, very close to the ADO station and to the ferry terminal, so great location. The personnel at the desk was awesome, very friendly and accommodating. They also provided with tours hints, they are in contact with an agency so they can easly check for availability and book it directly. Very usufull. Free drinking water in the hotel at any time, a/c was great in the room. There aren't a lot of rooms and there's always someone watching the gate at night, so it felt very safe. Thet also serve a little breakfast for free, nothing fancy but very welcome!

Additional cost for the safe. The sink in the bathroom was a little slow and was spilling water on the sink table, which was always wet.

Location is excellent right on 5th Avenue. Like an oasis amongst the chaos. The hotel is beautiful. The staff were lovely. Cleaners left little extra touches like a Happy New Year sign as we were there for 31st Dec. I was very worried about the noise from 5th Ave so I requested a room facing the garden. I can only recommend the hotel based on this experience as the noise wasn’t bad at all. Not sure how it would be if you had a room facing the street though.

Nothing. Maybe that the bell boy leaves at 3:30pm so we had to drag our bags up and down the stairs? But wasn’t a huge issue.

This place is simply beautiful. I will never forget it. It was perfect for what I had planned on. I wanted to explore and not be confined to an all-inclusive resort, to experience the town and all its beauty. This hotel is perfectly located on a strip with everything you need within feet. Restaurants of all kinds and ranges of value, shopping, a block from the beach, literally everything. And it is quaint and lovely, and the staff was very helpful in helping plan faytrips and arrange taxis. The room I was in was ADORABLE with a garden view. I had the delux king room named Ophelia.

There is a dance club nearby that I could hear at night. The staff was kind to send up earplugs but this was really the only issue that I had. Everything else was perfect.

Inclusion of breakfast and helpfulness of Ivan who assisted our arrival expertly well. The central location is amazing and it's just a short walk from Coco Bongo. The parking is extra at $200mxn per day just make sure you tell the carpark attendant where you stay as they have negotiated a discount.

This isn't a dislike it's a tip. If you are planning to sleep before 3am or a light sleeper you will need ear plugs. The property has secondary glazing but it doesn't keep the bass from the local clubs and bars out. The hotel is one of the best I've stayed at in a long time and offers many more facilities for a small property than I'm used to.

Our stay at Hotel Lunata was pleasant and accessible. I would recommend this hotel for budget friendly travel and if you want to be in the hustle and bustle of downtown Playa del Carmen. Michelle at the front desk was extremely patient, understanding, and helpful. She really helped to elevate our experience.

The bed was hard and the nearby nightlife made the hotel loud at night and thus hard to fall asleep. There was a lizard in our room one day and the breakfast was not appetizing.

The design of the hotel is just amazing. The staff was absolutely wonderful. My room had a nice balcony right above Quinta Ave with view of the sea. The location is perfect if you want to be close to the beach on Quinta. Good water pressure and temperature in shower. Fresh water is provided.

The general street noise was not really a problem (there are even earplugs provided in the room) as I was expecting that. However on some weekend nights there is a pounding, droning, booming bass from nearly clubs that literally does not stop until after 5am. In my two week stay I think I only heard it 2 nights, but forget about sleeping those nights. The WiFi was generally good, but there were a few days where it was unavailable or spotty for a few hours.
