La Valise Tulum

Very clean and very private. Service is wonderful.

The breakfast is very limited and when the hotel offers it as included in the tariff, there are big limitations and any thing that you want to add or change, the hotel will charge it to your room. This is not only a bad and disgusting practice but also is from a cheap hotel. When you pay around 1.000 dollars per night, you hope that if you change the flavor of the juice or you add an egg to your plate, it doesn’t involves an additional cost for you as guest.

Room was designed with a lot of details and very comfortable - but a bit dark. Location at the beach was great, with sufficient day beds for all guests. Staff was attentive, and generally very nice.

Value for money is not as expected. Breakfast is included, but selection is restricted to one item per person and everything on top will cost. Room was quite noisy as we heard the generator from another, close hotel - the staff told us all they can do is give us earplugs. Laundry service had to be sent back as shirts were not pressed, and one t-shirt was destroyed afterwards. All in all - while it is a nice hotel, the high expectations based on the extremely high price could not be matched.

How small and intimate the hotel is. JP and the gentleman serving at the restaurant were very friendly and welcoming.

I don't need a text message to remind me of the check-out time (claiming it's due to covid cleaning)- Especially at a 5-star hotel price. Felt tacky. Didn't feel that wow welcome vibe when we checked in. Given price, the hotel should also have toothpaste if a guest forgets to pack it. $700+ night without amenities just isn't worth it.

Thank you to the amazing La Valise hotel, we had such a wonderful time. The entire hotel was so relaxing and beautiful, located at a great spot along the beach - close to lots of amazing restaurants but also quiet and relaxed. It’s simply stunning! The everything from the atmosphere, decor and food was really outstanding. We enjoyed the breakfast everyday with a beach view. What really sets this hotel apart is the 5-star service and care from all staff, where you receive a unique experience at a truly boutique hotel. Any request you have is followed up via What’s App, making it so easy to arrange anything you need. We even extended our stay to downtown Tulum and La Valise kept our airport transfer and checked on the day to make sure our pick up was smooth. First class service! Thank you again La Valise and everyone who liked after us so well, for an incredible time which includes seeing a turtle on beach under the full moon! Thank you thank you! We hope to come back soon, we loved it!

Wonderful,unique place.The privacy element is amazing and the no music policy in common areas was our favourite.It is a Hollywood-star type of hotel,you shoot a text if you need something and it magically appears within minutes. We both had to work with my husband and they organised a table outside of our room,it was perfect.The internet is also lightning fast great for Zoom and film editing,uploading. The service is outstanding and the staff is superb and very amicable.We also stayed at Casa Malca right after which was a mediocre experience (for the same value) compared to La Valise.Highly recommended!

A mini fridge in the room would be a blessing.

The staff absolutely made this hotel, front desk team Daniel, Christopher, Angel, breakfast legend Davide and pool assistance from Guillermo. They were knowledgable, kind and able to help, even book our dinners. Location wise, the hotel is towards the end of the hotel road which meant it was quiet from music noise in the evenings, the downside is you may have to taxi out to dinners if you are going further, but we tried to walk (there is lots of selection close by still). The room suggested it didn't have a private pool but it has a private plunge pool which was fab, and the deck was spacious for yoga and reading. It was beautifully cleaned (kudos to the cleaners) and a great temperature. The breakfasts were delicious and worth including and the free bikes an extra perk to get around locally. Access to the beach was lovely (though windy) so the pool area was perfect. Would absolutely stay here again, and looking forward to trying another La Valise in Mexico soon!

We absolutely loved our stay. My husband and I went for our honeymoon. We booked a trip to Tulum a little last minute because our prior plans fell through, and la valise was amazing - from booking all the way until checkout. They’re super communicative - anytime we had a question or needed something, from coffee delivered to the room in the morning to a shuttle back to Cancun airport - they replied within MINUTES to our request on WhatsApp. They also found out it was our honeymoon at check-in and delivered Prosecco and rose petals to the room as a surprise. Really, exceptional exceptional service. And the property is BEAUTIFUL!! We had a jungle suite (the one with a roll out bed to the balcony and private terrace) and it was SO QUIET and beautifully furnished. I was worried about bugs, with the outdoor shower / bathroom, but it wasn’t a problem at all. They must treat the property. They also provide bug spray with the shampoo, lotions, etc, which is a nice touch! All the restaurants are within walking distance, about 10-15 minutes on foot, but the property is its own little oasis. Oh and the breakfast is INSANE - it’s included, and that includes a juice, a coffee (but think: latté, americano, etc), fruit with yogurt and granola AND a main course that you select from the menu (French toast, chilaquiles, eggs and bacon, etc). Portions are enormous, and my husband eats A LOT. We only ate lunch everyday because we ALSO loved that menu :)) Thank you again, la valise!!! We will be back ❤️

Truly nothing!

We loved everything about this property. It was so relaxing and peaceful. The food was impeccable (especially the French toast). The staff was so friendly and if you needed anything, then they were there for you. One day we had to leave before breakfast for an excursion and they made us a to-go box of food. The room (on the jungle side) was perfect. We had so much privacy and everything was clean. The pool was also so serene. The spa was also heavenly. We had the best massages of our lives there.

The stuff was just great !!! Everybody who works there was extremely nice and helpful ! The room with ocean view you can open the whole door is so nice !!! Wind and coffee almost on the beach but in bed ❤️that. They have small pool you can chill at with living room area. Close to all other restaurants and party but far enough to have quit night. Coming back !

This is nothing the hotel can do better but the beach in Tulum is just not pretty because of the amount of sea wied on the beach make it almost impossible to swim or go in the ocean. It’s not the type of vacation you enjoy pretty ocean . But this problem has every each hotel in Tulum.

Hands down, La Valise is just one of my favorite places in the world, and my partner and I travelled to many. We came here already 2 years ago and just love it everytime. The setting right on the beach is just phenomenal. Even though Tululm has become pretty crowded, you don't sense it here. It rather feels like you're in your little private oasis. The hotel itself is super special: the part on the beach feels like someones private house with an open living room to the ocean and the new part in the jungle is very well thought out and has a special vibe. They improved the breakfast a lot compared to two years ago, now they offer a wide range of healthy options and super nice smoothies. And the best part: The people!! The staff are so incredibly attentive, supportive, personal and care a lot for you. And we always meet incredible people there. So yah, after two times I know it's not been the last time we've been to La Valise. It has a truly special place in our heart.
