Honestly I never actually stay at Casa San Juan as when I checked in I was offered a free upgrade to the Hotel Boutique Real San Juan. This said, ALL of the staff were very professional & friendly (front desk, housekeeping, restaurant), and the included breakfast was a great bonus - fresh fruit, yogurt, juice & coffee. These points would apply to both properties. As for the actual room where I stayed, it was spotlessly clean, super comfortable, spacious, airy, well ventilated, and tastefully designed. Overall, absolutely fantastic stay.

The location is ideal for many things! The king room I had was spacious, air conditioning worked great and plenty of hot water. Traveling with a small dog was no problem, and there were no extra charges. Very reasonable price for the size of the room.
The breakfast room is in a separate hotel just around the corner. A small inconvenience.

The front desk staff was exceptional. Breakfast was good, the location was amazing, I got to really walk through Mérida. Loved it!
The room was in a separate venue. Away from the main building When booking.com said that I could upgrade the room, I really thought it would be in the main building.

The original room was very clean with comfortable beds but it had a very musty smell and the hot water didn’t work. It was also quite an odd layout (pictured below), but it was fine if you’re just looking for a place to crash. After I notified the reception about the water and they couldn’t get it to turn hot, they upgraded me to another room in their main hotel. The room there was absolutely wonderful and the staff was very friendly. The location is central and easy to walk downtown and to many attractions.

Breakfast was amazing. I liked the location, a little bit on the outskirts of the city centre, that was 15 minutes walk, didn’t mind.
Well, the smell from the pipes in the bathroom - horrible. The cleanliness also debatable. There was absolutely no toilet paper in the bathroom, asked for it multiple times, at the end just bought some in the shop myself. The stove in the kitchen didn’t work. Well, it was ok for the price, but really the smell from the pipes which was coming to the room was horrible!
