Hotel Podgorica

The hotel is in a beautiful spot, on the river's bank — a lovely view from the restaurant. Sound isolation is good; the bed is comfortable. The shower has several different modes. Breakfast was not very diverse, but tasty. Personnel at the reception kindly helped us with a taxi to the airport.

The furniture is old and sometimes broken. The toilet's door can't be opened completely because the bathroom is so small that the door is impossible to open because of the toilet itself. When we arrived, we had only one robe instead of two and no hand soap. Our main complaint, however, is the small metallic lamps over the bed. My friend used one of them in the evening, and when she wanted to change the lamp's position, she burnt her hand badly in two places - they are super hot and unsafe to use!

My second stay at this hotel, the staff are very good, friendly and helpful. My particular thanks to the delightful lady on reception who speaks French, she was particularly helpful, always with a happy "bonjour", "bonsoir" or "bon nuit" The room light and airy a nice private balcony overlooking the gardens, the river and the old fortifications on the opposite bank. Pleasantly peaceful and relaxing.

Nit picking would be to note that the hotel accommodation could do with a bit of new carpeting in the accommodation corridors just to bring it up to that next level of a higher standard. Having a sink plug for the washbasin, I personally would like, I am a wet shaver in the mornings and like to be able to soak my shaving brush to help lathering my face.

As always, I love this hotel when in Podgorica. You can look at my older reviews. I prefer a room with a balcony. What was great is, that we almost missed the breakfast, since we had some work in the morning, but when we arrived, the staff, that allready removed most of the breakfast, kindly assisted us, got us some additional bread etc. I now slept in a few Podgorica hotels, but still my favorite.

I would say noise from the nearby arena, but we had a free great concert of Zucherro and if you come during concerts and approach the arena from the hotel, you can really see and hear perfectly.

I love this hotel. I always stay here when I am in Podgorica. The staff are fabulously kind and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is an incredible spread. I love having dinner on the huge terrace overlooking the Moraca River. The waiters are well informed and able to advise about wines and food choices. The chef is brilliant! I love the architecture and design of the building; long and low along the riverbank, using natural local materials. Svetlana Kane Radevic has made a beautiful, entirely original, very elegant and functional hotel.

Location- close to almost everything. 20min to the airport by taxi (€15), 20 walk from the main railway station and it is just Infront of the river. There are lots of nice caffes and restaurants nearby.

There is no coffee machine or a kettle for tea. There is a small gym but A/C unit was not working while outside temperature was +36C.

Parking right in front of the hotel on a great location. Room had a riverside view. As always very kind and helpfull staff and great breakfast. When in Pogorica we usually stay here, close to everything and still very quiet. We always try to get a room with a balcony, great, when the weather is nice.

Some rooms will eventually need some renovation, expecially most of the bathrooms, but we still feel very cosy everytime we come to this hotel.

I had a room with nice view to the river. I liked that the air condition was automatically stopped when opening the balcony door and starting when closing it. Staff is very quiet, you don't hear them when cleaning other rooms.

Service in the restaurant can be improved. A bit more attention to the clients is always nice. As we were staying 4 nights, the breakfast becomes boring. In a country with excellent cheese, is place for more variety.

View of the river was lovely. Room was large and attractive. Restaurant terrace is beautiful and the waiter was very helpful and pleasant. I quite liked the architecture although might be too 'brutalist' for some if you're fussy like that! Place felt clean and comfy! Bed was really comfy.

Not the end of the world but was a bit disappointed to be told we would have to pay 2.50 for a lemon at the end of the meal when my pregnant wife had a craving for one. Also, some smiles (1 even) at the reception would have been nice as never felt particularly welcome. Everyone loves a good smile! Bath didn't fill and there was no shower - it's OK I think hygiene is overrated... It was nice place though. Oh, should mention... it is next to the national outdoor music venue so we had a free Serb pop concert blasting until about 1 am. I quite liked this but for those who want to sleep don't choose a Saturday night when the Balkans' finest artists are smashing out the hits!

We flew into Podgorica from the US and decided to spend two days here before traveling on down to the Montenegrin coast. The Hotel Podgorica has a great location overlooking the river and the old Turkish walls, and is ideally situated for visiting all parts of the city. It's an easy walk to the city center, cafes and restaurants, the main cathedral and shopping districts. There is also a lovely nearby walking path along the river which we enjoyed in the early morning. We happened to be staying there on the weekend of the Salon Vina (wine fair), a lovely wine-and-cheese event featuring many artisanal wine producers in the region, displaying and offering samples of their wares on the beautiful outdoor terrace at sunset. That was a real bonus!

We were never able to connect to the hotel's WiFi, even though we had the password and were assured that was functioning. They insisted that it was because my devices weren't set up properly. I've never had this problem in other hotels.
