Hilton Noumea La Promenade Residences

Well maintained, great location, great staff, spacious self-contained rooms with vast ocean views. Daily housekeeping. Easy parking onsite. Good shops in the hotel and near to excellent patisserie (L’Atelier Gourmand). Easy walk to Lemon Bay. Anse Vata beach is beautiful.

Slightly dated bathrooms, no fixed shower in ensuite

Great sized and mostly well appointed apartment with sea views from a surprisingly spacious balcony. AirCon in bedroom and living area, TV in both. Fully resourced kitchen means you don't have to rely on eating out all the time, especially considering the horrific prices in NC. Immediate access to Anse Vata & easy walk to Baie de Citrons, so lots of eateries/bars etc close by for when you want to empty your wallet. Good breakfasts and facilities with friendly helpful staff. Good shops all within easy walk including a couple of good minimarkets, with two good boulangerie/patisserie an easy stroll away. Bus stop right outside the Hilton if you want to go and explore on the great busses in Noumea - highly recommended with info systems to tell you where you are/what stops are coming next if you're not familiar with Noumea. You're no more than 2 bus rides from pretty well anywhere in Noumea. Hilton apartments are a competitive option that likely aren't as expensive as you think. An unexpected bonus - no mozzies when we were there!

Bathroom quite dated (felt like 70s/80s and needs a do-up) but functional. The rest of the apartment much better appointed, though not as flash as some of the newer Hiltons. Considering price though, a spacious apartment that is roomy and far better value than your normal hotel room.

Excellent location on Anse Vata beach - walk to cafes/bars/restaurants and the aquarium. Also short walk to convenience store and bakery which sold vey tasty food. We had a spacious 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets with large balcony overlooking pool area, park and Anse Vata beach - amazing views!!!!!!! Excellent service at the reception desk!! Also we had the pool to ourselves most of the time which was lovely!

Only downside was the cleaner/house keeper came in to our room to clean at 8.45am one morning while we were all still asleep in bed! I think they shouldn't come till at least 10am when people are most likely to be awake and out and about.

Great location, Anse Vata bay is a great area and its very easy to navigate to, plus Citrons bay around the point has some great eateries and within easy walking distance. Had a great family room with breakfast included and we slept well and started the day well, and ended it even better as we were blessed with some beautiful sunsets on the balcony. Will definitely stay if we're fortunate to be in Noumea again.

No bar on the premises, but L'Etrave was nearby and they were always open when I felt like a beer. The gym was a bit hard to find, and its easy to mistake the women only exercise areas by the pool as the Gym, would be nice to access a Gym in the pool area.

Whilst the hotel isn’t new, it was very well kept and did not feel tired. We had a nice 3 bedroom apartment on Level 6 which I suspect was recently refreshed. Furniture was nice and fresh. Very well appointed room. Immaculate presentation, clean and fresh. Quiet, air con was fine etc. All perfect really. Massive too. Breakfast was great, decent selection and generous. Location is probably the best in Noumea. Staff were friendly, professional, helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again (and we are discerning travellers).

Nothing - was great value for money.

The staff were exceptional. Friendly and helpful, always happy to help by calling taxis, offering directions / advice and calling people on our behalf when we didn't speak French. Our room was large and had a great kitchen living balcony area which made our stay very comfortable.

Beds were pretty average in comfort. Twin share meant we ended up with two singles which wasn't great for adults, king singles would have been ideal. Lighting is awful! There's no centre light in either the bedroom or living. It meant relying on torches to see properly when needing to do stuff, look through bags etc in the evening or early morning. Breakfast was great, lots of variety and well stocked whenever we came down, be it early or late.

Excellent breakfast! I loved having a one bedroom apartment at The Hilton so I could also self-cater as food is often very expensive at cafes. It was very good VALUE for money and a short walk to the beach, i.e. just across the road! I almost booked again for next year! Will definitely love to come back for location and value for money. Staff were so amazing! They were very helpful even when my French was very basic! English speaking staff on site too.

The bathroom tiles seemed to be a bit yellow and some of the tiles seem a bit dated. But having a BATH in the apartment was awesome - rare to find in some hotels!

Location was excellent,above some lovely shops and restaurants.View from apartment beautiful.Fully self contained so a chance to catch up on laundry after visits to some islands.Pool was heated.

Bed was on castors and not attached to the wall so every time we sat on it to watch TV it moved away from the wall.At this time of year (winter)there was no sun on the pool area at all.Locaton on 3rd floor two floors up from pool was noisy when pool was being used (may be an issue when full of children!)

We were a family of 3 generations, 5 in total staying in one of the 3 Bedroom Apartments. The first thing we noticed was the view, which was perfect. Being a 3 Bedroom we were on the end so had views out of 3 sides. The apartment was large and comfortable for a group of 5, all bedrooms were a good size, main with its own shower/bath and toilet. All found the beds very comfortable, and we made breakfast and lunch at the apartment and went out to the many restaurants in easy walking distance, several right in front of the Hotel. Breakfast was had on the deck looking out over the beach. We were concerned about air-conditioning having read several reviews, but were pleased to find we had units in all bedrooms and living area, so apartment was cool the entire stay. The units were new, and worked perfectly. Any criticisms would be nit picking being an older building, but for the price, location and amenities it would be hard to beat in Noumea. The other thing that has changed is that there is free wi-fi of 30GB per day for up to 6 devices. When we come back we will have no hesitation in returning to the Hilton. Other benefits was the local bus stops out front, Mary D pick for excursions to Amedee (recommended) picks up and drops off at reception, there is a very good Supermarket a 20 minute walk and an excellent Bakery and Butchers 5 minutes up the same road.

We had the 10th (top floor) which meant we had smaller balconies than the lower levels, so would probably look to book a lower floor for the larger balcony. The only channels on TV where French, but the language here is French. However, they are Smart TV's so could be connected to the wi-fi to pick up the likes of YouTube, or Netflix if you have an account.

The apartment was generously sized, well equipped and offered excellent views of Anse Varta Bay. Furniture in the apartment was comfortable, the master bedroom was large, with an ensuite. The second bathroom was adequate. The kitchen and laundry with washing machine/dryer was very useful. The pool was well maintained. There was a good variety of shops on the ground floor promenade around the three apartment blocks.

Maintenance during our 11 day stay meant there was only one lift operating in our apartment block. The reception staff were friendly, but had limited knowledge of tour options around Noumea. Housekeeping staff were friendly and cleaned thoroughly, but some daystowell re-supply was a bit hit and miss. A call to reception rectified oversight.
