Le Méridien Nouméa Resort & Spa

We had a fantastic time at Le Meridian. The staff was so friendly and kind, they went out of their limit to make us feel comfortable. The resort’s facilities are well maintained and have great views. The beach is nice, with clear water. Just a few steps from the hotel we ate delicious seafood at Le Roof. And when we wanted something different and less fancy we walked to Anse Vata, a small area full of restaurants and shops that opens 7 days a week. We were concerned about food before going there, a lot of reviews said that the resort’s restaurants were closed and so on. But that was not our case, we always had food and drinks available in and outside the resort. There was a night we wanted something different and special and the resort booked us a table at La Marmite et tire Bouchon, and it was delicious. Important, no matter the weather, do not miss the Tjibaou cultural centre. It’s just magnificent!

All amenities were good - as expected from a major resort - easy access to the beaches and the local restaurants, shops and bars.

Room Service closed at 9pm - which meant no food when we arrived after a long day of international travel. The bar had no other food options - not even peanuts! They should provide a basic after hours Room Service - perhaps a vending machine. The nearby Casino has a full service restaurant - this should be made clear to weary travelers.

The only thing was that the pool was freezing, everyone was complaining about it, we still enjoyed the pool but no where as much as wet would have if it was warmer. because there’s no swimming allowed in the ocean it would make sense to have the pool warmer so everyone can spend more time in the water.

Fantastic rooms. Garden rooms looked over garden and pool very serene. Location was fantastic with plenty of parking and close walk to restaurants and some great beach walks close by.

The hotel pool was closed and there was no swimming allowed in the beaches around Noumea. Very expensive drinks and food. 1 beer & a G&T cost AUD$40

What a great hotel, and it will be even better when the facilities are all open again after the closures and pressures of Covid-19 fade away. Location is fabulous and the amenities are excellent. Beautiful spot to watch the sunset under a palm tree or in the poolside bar and terrace. Helpful and friendly staff and only a short stroll into town.

Even though the restaurants were closed (except for the poolside bar) due to Covid-19 staff shortages and other lock down related pressures, the staff were extremely helpful in suggesting alternatives. Rooms were great but the hot water was a little temperamental.

The room was great - nice and big - with a lovely view. The breakfast was good and we loved the pool. Service was excellent.

Not much we didn't like. Breakfast was a bit expensive and it would be great if there was a barista.

Room was spacious and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to an ocean view room. Buffet breakfast included was more than ample, on a Sat/Sun morning and they have a larger selection than weekday. Creme brûlée and lemon meringue if that takes your fancy for breakfast! Pool (which is massive) was closed first day but took a dip in the ocean and the view from the lounges is beautiful. Don't think the walk to restaurants in Anse Vata is far but we hired a car so never did it. They had plenty on-site parking. Free pool towel and snorkel hire. There's no supermarket close to the resort.

Fabulously comfortable bed and pillows , one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in . Excellent extremely helpful friendly staff. Coristain in the bar was exceptional. He gave us fantastic suggestions for places to eat and visit.

Musty smell in the rooms , understandable after being shut up due to COVID and in a humid environment. Reception area is not inviting looking . No art , flowers music etc . lacking atmosphere as said before in reviews.

Great location and wonderful views. Staff very friendly and helpful. Organised a lovely birthday cake for my husband. Room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Large well equipped gym and really nice pool area and gardens. Lobby, bar, verandah and public areas all lovely. Good buffet breakfast with lots of options.

Evening dining options a bit limited but quality of food and service was good. Bed was comfortable but need more bedding options. We were too hot and had to improvise lighter covers as only quite heavy quilts available. No hand sanitiser in lobby area or restaurants. Would also be good to have some bikes available to hire as right near the start of a great bike track.

The hotel is gorgeous in a beautiful localisation, in front of the turquoise sea, the staff is amazing, super friendly and helpful ( big up to Alan & Jeremy), the pool is amazing and not too busy, breakfast buffet is good with lots of options. Our room was really clean, splendid view, bed really confortable, wifi incredible it even works when you are outside of the hotel until the pool the beach the restaurant around.

- there is no fridge, only a thing which look like a fridge but is isn’t one.. haha they told us that was to keep things fresher than outside but wasn’t a fridge so we couldn’t keep cold water - Unfortunately our phone wasn’t working, we asked them few times to fix it but never happened, so we were not able to call room service, but to be honest it’s a really small complain everything else was perfect.
