Room, view, location.

Kyle. He recommended Lone Star as a restaurant because we are American and it was objectively terrible. His other recommendations were generally bad or biased. He said Fergberger had deteriorated and we had just had a lovely meal there. Bella Cucina--ehh not as good as he said. It was odd. It's like he was purposely steering us towards bad restaurants. The negativity was off putting, especially disparaging Auklanders. He also said the yellow jet boats were the best. Maybe they are, maybe it's because the hotel has a discount deal. Coffee was awful. That can't compete with local options at all.

Location is really excellent. It was an extremely comfortable room with many little extras that you don't always get. Great tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Both bedroom and bathroom were a great size. It had lovely double doors out to a little balcony. Manager was very accommodating with storing luggage etc, and helpful recommendations of things to do in Queenstown and where to eat.

Decor was a little dated for my taste but if you like traditional style accommodation this is perfect.

Current couple/managers appear to have recently taken over. Very easy to speak to and communication was good. Room was as described and good views of town, lake and mountains. Very close to centre and walked everywhere we needed to go. Would stay again and recommend

location location location. On a quiet street but only 2 mins away from the centre of town

Was put off a bit before booking by the owner responding (arguing) with feedback guests wrote in their reviews that he disagreed with. We booked anyway and the stay was great so I hope the owner can let people have differing opinions occasionally - great service will win out!

The location is so close to town you do not need the car and with the state of QT parking it is ideal. The room + the view is first class. The cleanliness and warmth of the room especially the bathroom made winter easy. We were made to feel very welcomed and accommodated by the owner especially with our original booking not including breakfast but made it feel like no problem when we had breakfast . I would happily stay here again (and include breakfast).

I didn't personally have the breakfast provided but I did see someone else enjoying the breakfast which looked delicious. The location is perfect if you do not have transportation as it is very close to the town centre.

I enjoyed every aspect of my stay

The location was really central. As long as you are happy waking up a few stairs - it was a 2 minute walk to town. Super central without being in the hustle and bustle. The hosts were very friendly.

For us - there for a few days it was perfect!

We just loved the whole stay there ... So good to enjoy the evenings with a great shared lounge & courtyard, log fire & the best of management company we have ever witnessed Can't wait to return & stay longer !

We love the delightful home breakfast and the homely feel. The latter very rare in similar price range hotels.

Fantastic location close to CBD. Very peaceful and homely. Rooms clean and well serviced. Lovely outdoor area for breakfast in the sun.
