Tairua Shores Motel

Tairua Shores was close to the harbour and had a lovely outdoor setting which overlooked the water and boats. The unit itself was clean and secure. The bed was super comfortable.

I was hesitant to leave the windows open at night due to the unit's proximity to the road. It was quiet hot the night we stayed and as the bedroom had no air conditioning, it was a bit stuffy.

Don’t be put off by the fairly uninviting exposure to the main road. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The cabins look a bit bland from the outside but open the door and it’ ‘Wow!. Very well furnished and equipped, a very comfortable bed, good shower, etc. Even a private garden area to sit in outside. A pleasant 10-15 minute walk along the foreshore gets you into the centre of town.

I thought it was a little overpriced considering how far it was from the centre of town.

Fabulous location almost right on the water. The unit was really big and modern. There was a full kitchen with a dining table which was really handy. The outside area was lovely with a table and bbq. The owner/manager Steven was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The unit was serviced daily by lovely cleaning staff.

Excellent location. The cabin was super cute and well decorated, we loved it! happy it had a hot plate to cook on in the kitchenette. It had a good heater to keep it warm inside (stayed in winter), super close to town. Free parking in front of your cabin. Was a lovely stay, and the perfect base to access attractions nearby in the area like Cathedral Cove and hot water beach. We will stay again!

The cabin would benefit from a good deep clean. we found quite a bit of dust on lower shelves of the side tables and other low use areas.

Wooden blinds in lounge area and bedroom let in too much light so difficult to sleep after sunrise, both windows had provision for a curtain but none present ? Addition of curtains or blackout blinds would be welcomed.

Spacious room with good amenities. Easy parking and close to the town center. We arrived after reception had closed but this was no problem as the property let us know the room number and the key was inside. When leaving you can leave the key in the door or inside. Very straight forward..

All good.

Late booking but staff directed us to an upgraded room which was amazing. View over the sea with setting sun was a bonus. Walk around bay to get our G&T! Spotless and crisp linen. Slept like a log.

The bedroom was a bit warm and the fan in cupboard didn’t work but just a minor thing

We stayed in room one, room was very spacious and great for our family. Location was amazing too. Awesome walking distance to the town centre. Also beautiful little bay to swim at during high tide just across the road.

We found that the room was not cleaned that well. An open packet of patotoe chips left in cupboard, lots of dust and a little bit of rubbish on sides of fridge. When we opened up the sofa bed we found chip crumbs on the bed. Besides these things every thing else was pretty tidy.

Being newly renovated and clean. Good location

No iron as I had washed our clothes on our travels so they needed an iron. TV only 5 or so channels which wasn't the issue. The issue was two didn't have any volume so needed to lip read. Which then meant less channels to choose from. Like every place no where for two suitcases and off the floor.

nice and well-equipped unit in pretty Tairua. great on-site manager. fast wifi. great free parking. kitchenette with full fridge. comfy bed. nice private patio.

The carpet has seen better days. the shower was a bit messy. Everything else was great.
