Peninsula Motel

Location was great. Just a short walk to the main shopping area and marina. The room we received (6) was more spacious than expected. Entered into the main dining/living area which had dining table and chairs, sofa, coffee table, and a single bed under the tv. There were also two private bedrooms - one with a double bed, the other with two singles. Both had ample sized wardrobes, a desk area with mirror, suitcase racks and pedestal fans. Kitchen was well appointed with full size fridge and stove, and all cutlery and plates you could need. Bathroom had shower and basin, with toilet through a separate door. Fred was very friendly and helpful.

The rooms were all a little outdated but that wasn't a major issue for us.

Large clean family room. Beach towels and shovels provided for hot water beach! Proper stove, microwave etc.

Room was very hot. No Aircon but some fans were provided (although cables too short to be able to face them towards the bed). Didn't like the unexpected 3.5% extra fee for using a credit card to pay... I looked back and it's mentioned on Booking.com but as a tiny footnote, it wasn't at all obvious.

I loved how Fred looked after me, my friend and my family as we stayed for one night. Me and my friend attended the Whitianga Marathon. Me and my friend had to eave early in the morning to get to the start line. My partner and kids stayed while we were running. When I saw my parnter after the Marathon she said that Fred was really nice and polite. He was really helpful and generous aswell. We got a cot for our baby boy who is 3 months old and I asked if we could come back for a shower after the Marathon and I said we won't be back until after normal check out time and Fred said he will sort something out for us which he did. We come back and had a shower, this really helped us as me and my friend handed out the trophies and prizes to the winners of the Whitianga Marathon Event at their prizegiving. We went feeling well rested and feeling fresh. We can't wait to visit again, definitely recommend this place. It's also such a good price.

We booked a family room which was upgraded to an apartment with 3 rooms,2 bathrooms and a drawing room with a kitchen.Beds were comfortable and bathrooms and kitchen had everything needed for a comfortable stay

We reached there quite late and spent 20-30 min in figuring out the reception area and then someone to talk to.But then everything was sorted out and so no complains

Can't get a much more central location than this, excellent spot to start the day. Had the weather been better, we would've gone to the local area for food, been on the Banana Boat and travelling Circus rides at the time. It was warm during the rainy night and morning, and the bed had electric blankets if necessary. The free wifi was easy to connect to. Microwave and full oven+stovetop were available to use. The hot water in the shower was no trouble. We had a booking for 3, one bed in a room and the other in the lounge, both were comfy. It's not modern, but it's all clean and in well-maintained condition for a very fair price.

The powerpoints by the beds weren't easy to access for charging phones etc. There wasn't one by the lounge room bed, and one in the bedroom was behind a bedside table which would then get in the way of the door if you weren't careful. Very minor issue, nice to have but not necessary.

Nice and cozy. Spacious, comfy beds. Group of friends just out of Auckland for the day and we decided to stay here the night. Was only $70 split between the 4 of us and we all enjoyed ourselves even though it was a short time. Fred was great, he had our room ready for us before we arrived and he checked up on us to see if we settled in okay when we got there. Will book here again in the future :)

Easy check in, lovely clean room and comfy bed, staff very friendly. Fantastic location for getting into town. Only teeny tiny thing was no dishcloth or tea towel although I didn’t bother to ask either and I’m sure they would have provided if I asked as they were super friendly. Would highly recommend

Just a tea towel and dish cloth not supplied. Also we had three people staying but only two towels provided and half a toilet roll. I think these are tiny details but would have been nice to have provided

Wonderfully clean rooms, spacious and well laid out and super comfy bed. The place was easy to find, staff were amazing. We were also able to bring our small dog, we love it when he's welcome too. :) Thank you, we'll definitely come back!

Nothing - everything was fantastic!

Very handy to everything, including where I was working. Clean and tidy unit with everything we needed. Very comfortable which, given the rain over the weekend, made staying inside better.

Nothing I didn't like. Have stayed here before so knew what to expect. Will stay again in the future, I am sure.

We loved the place .. very clean , warm and cosy .. Fred was great very welcoming and helpful with organising the bbq for us ..it has everything you need from a big screen television to a spa bath etc etc

Everything about this place is great :)
