Campanile Caldas da Rainha

The beds were comfortable, shower/bathroom was very good with plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly & helpful. Location is excellent, next to a Continente store for needed items and an easy 10-minute walk to the city center.

This hotel is only about two years old, so I was expecting the WiFi to be much faster than the 4 Mbps I measured with Ookla. Our room was small and rather cramped, with no good place to put our suitcase. The "closet" was 4 coat hangars on a half-meter bar, with no other place to put clothes, so we set our suitcase on the floor in a corner of the room.

Brand new hotel, so exceptionally well maintained and clean. Excellent location and so easy to find. Car parking on site with security cameras. Within easy walking of cafes and restaurants (the Delhi Darbar Indian restaurant is a particular favourite of ours) and the park. This part of Caldas is going through a face lift so it´s very attractive here. Good room and bathroom, comfy bed, kettle so you can make your own tea and coffee. New, large supermarket is next door.

No in-house restaurant and no proper bar for a drink in the evenings - although there is a drinks menu at reception, not that this was a real problem as so much is available on the doorstep of the hotel. On a more practical level the room and the bathroom are both ultra minimalistic - in the room there is not a single drawer (so your underwear is on open display!) and in the shower there is not a shelf to put soap, shampoo and conditioner on, so it all goes on the floor.

Breakfast was simple but more than enough. The hotel is very cosy. Very simple but very nice :) The parking is perfect because the car stays in a safe place just behind the building. Decoration was very simple and very much what we wanted. The entrance place is very cosy also. We really liked the small lights to the side of the bed and the protections so you can have a really low light at night.

We loved everything. The only thing I can point out was the control of the big round light at the side. It would've been nice to only control that one and not light up the entire room.

Great value for money hotel, easy 10 min walk to the town, breakfast was decent, rooms modern and clean and comfortable, bathroom shower was big and beautiful powerful shower.

A hairdryer would be good in the bathroom. Our room was roadside facing and you could hear traffic noise from about 6am if you’re a light sleeper. Caldas da Rainha itself wasn’t a very exciting town, in winter (January) nearly all the restaurants were closed or close on Monday & Tuesdays. There were a few nice shopping streets but not much else & a complete travesty that the local council hasn’t renovated a beautiful huge old building in the Park.

I really think this is a nice hotel. Of course it’s not the “boutique old town” style, but a brand new and functional hotel with everything you need for a couple of days in Caldas. It’s situated just outside the city centre, you can easily walk (for example to the highly recommended Pottery Museum). Nice lobby with sofas and some desks for working on your laptop. I also appreciated the free parking and the big supermarket nearby. The staff was super friendly and spoke excellent English, they also have a 24h reception.

I would have liked a fridge and a hair dryer. And yes, the a/c is quite loud. I turned it off by night and it was fine. Also, the floor had some stains, but I didn’t mind that much.

in New Area of Caldas. next to Continente and in walking distance to good coffee shop and local restaurant. Was clean and breakfast was adequate

They were badly understaffed for room cleaning staff. we went on day trip to Peniche. came home at 19h00 to relax and unwind. Our room was still not refreshed for the day. Poor cleaning lady was very apologetic but she was still busy as she was the only person on duty. I did report to management but they just said they were busier than expected. I thought it would have been great if they offered us a complimentary drink but advised that we go out for an hour. it was refreshed on our return 45 min later. I figured it was teething problems as the only recently opened and May not apply once they have settled down to normality.

Was very comfortable, had good matress wich provided a very good nights sleep, shower was so great i wanted to take it home with me.Kids had a good time too.Quiet location but very close to everything you could need .Free parking and staff were very friendly.Didnt try breakfast but it did look very nice too.My family had to wait for me in foyer after check out for an hour and it was very comfortable and accommodating.Really nice staff looking after them wich i would like to thank but we didn’t nite any names down unfortunately.Will definitely comeback again next time i visit Caldas.This Hotel is an asset to this city.I am a hotel manager in the UK and i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this Hotel to my family, friends and colleagues at all.Only one thing that would be beneficial would be a hairdryer in the room.Well done to the Team at the Campanille and thanks for a lovely stay.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

It appeared to be a brand new motel, and right next door was a large grocery store, including a pharmacy. It was located in an area that was not congested with buildings or traffic, so it was easy to find. There was plenty of parking onsite. The room was very clean, and bed very clean and comfortable, as was the bathroom. The breakfast was exceptionally good, and they cooked us fresh scrambled eggs! There was a beautiful view of trees and nature we could see out of the large windows in the breakfast room. I wish we had time to stay longer.

This hotel is super value for money. Everything you need from a breakfast and the staff were so friendly. Always a smiling face when you came back and anything they can help you with they will. Got loads of GF bread and croissants in for my wife when I requested. It’s excellent value and near the park and city centre. We stayed 6 days and we will go back. Highly recommend if you want to get value for your money in a spotless new hotel. Thanks to all the staff

We stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to Óbidos. It has private parking so that is a plus! Also, right next to it there is a big supermarket which is really convenient. We were given a room at the end of the hall as we asked to get a quiet room. However, there was a buzz coming from the electrical cabinet that was right outside the room. We asked if we could get another room and they gave us another one right away - great service! The beds were very comfortable too.

Nothing to complain, this is a great value hotel for your money!
