Hotel Dona Leonor

Buffet style continental breakfast, not much choice, but plenty of it and it was fresh, and considering the price of the stay, to get breakfast was a good bonus. The situation of the hotel is great, its close to the centre and the big outdoor daily market The staff were accommodating and gave good advice. Our van was too big for their parking area, but there is plenty of free parking around within a few minutes walk, so not a problem. The city feels really safe. And we had a lovely meze type, Egyptian meal in Cairo Restaurant about 12 minutes walk away. Highly recommended. The hotel is old fashioned in style, so the rooms are small, but are clean. There is also a hotel bar which seemed quite busy but we couldn't hear it in our room, even though our view was over the bar terrace, so did not interfere with our sleep I would recommend staying here for price, situation and it seems like a good old Portuguese family run place, not one of the swanky hotels where you could be anywhere in the world as they are all the same

The location is ideal for walking to all the key government offices, bus & trains stations, pedestrian streets and shopping and the famous fruit and fish markets. The staff are all excellent, the cleaning staff do an excellent job, Telmo and Veronica are real assets to the hotel.

The beds and furniture are all due for replacement. the lounge furniture is old and saggy. The breakfast room chairs could all use some care and be tightened up so they are not wobbly.

Centre of town, quiet and convenient Comfy bed, clean bathroom

No kettle in the room and when I asked, Veronica told me not possible and she suggested I go out and buy one However, Telmo was very helpful. He gave me hot water to take with my medication and for coffee early in the morning before breakfast Staff happy and helpful

Hotel is in a good location, everything within walking distance. The decor and atmosphere are quaint, nostalgic but in a good way, endearing. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, hotel personnel extremely kind and welcoming, the breakfast spread was generous and varied. All in all excellent value for money.

Had to unplug the TV in order to charge our phones as the only other socket wasn't working. No big deal, easy enough to fix.

Awesome location. Walk to everything. Very helpful staff. I personally love the rustic Portuguese interior.

It’s often booked by groups ( sports and pilgrims). The sports groups can be loud however the front desk people are amazing and when I called because it was too loud ( one Saturday), they immediately addressed the situation. The other days were quiet. Nice hotel.

The hotel is right in the center, 2 min away from the coach station and not even a min away from the main square. The staff was lovely. It has also a separate lobby for guests and a dining room. The breakfast was the standard one, with fresh products. The reception was also open at all times. In a nutshell, a cozy and clean old-school place.

They were asking to leave the key at the reception every time you would be out - I feel like they could do without this. Otherwise, no major con.

Breakfast Good, many choices for everyone. Hotel very centro to town ,transport, buses and trains. very friendly staff.

Maby a better shower pipe and head. A card to leave at door handle to give a choice to have towels change or not .Saves water and the planet.

This is a really nice, affordable and central place to stay. The breakfast staff was particularly friendly.

The card key to our room had been broken and taped together, so it was a little hard to use, but the room, itself, was clean and well maintained.

the location is ideal. I was there in the pre-Christmas season so street parking was at a premium, but I was always able to find a place within east walking distance and there is a large off street area to allow unloading right at the hotel entrance.

A bargain in the heart of Caldas. 4 mins walk to bus station. Restaurants nearby. Clean and comfy room. Full sized bath. Free breakfast. Friendly staff, (especially at breakfast). 😊

Bathroom is a little cramped, but does the job. (Included a full sized bathtub and bidet).
