Hotel Apolo

Great breakfast, wonderful location. Pool was small but peaceful and clean, lots of sunbeds. Spacious rooms and nice bathroom. Hotel was very clean and wonderful staff. Touristic train outside the hotel takes you to the beach for only 1.20€ per person each way.

The staff at reception did not inform us much of what was going around, such as festivities in nearby Montegordo town. They misinformed us about a Saturday market in a nearby town which was wrong. They did not supply us with towels for the beach saying it was only for the hotel pool. A receptionist informed us they would provide us at the beach as a section is part of the hotel with sunbeds and bar/restaurant. We paid for the sunbeds and asked for towels, to our disappointment they said they never gave out towels there. Again misinformed by reception.

The Hotel was the perfect location..just a short stroll away to the shops and restaurants. The swimming pool was ideal... not too busy..some days we had it to ourselves. The breakfast was amazing.. read some bad reviews about the Coffee.. but for me I have no idea why... beautiful selection of fresh fruit every morning. The staff were very friendly and so helpful...I have to say it was the most relaxing two weeks I ever had - we are heading back in September for a week... that's how much we loved it.

The room was a good size with a very comfortable bed. We liked the fact that it had a fridge, safe and effective AC. The staff was friendly and helpful. And we really enjoyed the full English breakfast offered in the morning.

Any negatives were tied to the bathroom. The setup with only half a shower door made showering awkward if trying to keep the floor dry. Also, there were very few places to place or hang clothes or wet towels - a shelf on the wall above the toilet could provide an easy spot to do both. Also, the hanging bar at the end of the shower wall was not fully secured so that should be an easy fix.

We were impressed with the hotel from the moment we arrived. It was exceptionally clean and the staff at reception were very welcoming. Room was excellent and tea and coffee facilities and water much appreciated. Bathroom well stocked with toiletries and towels were soft and fluffy. Breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choice and all items were speedily replaced when necessary.. The overall cleanliness of all areas was impressive.

There was nothing to fault. The hotel definitely deserves a higher star rating

Just had the pleasure of staying here and I can't tell you how much we enjoyed it. We arrived a little before check in and we're allowed straight to our room . The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, next morning we had an unexpected pleasant experience regarding the breakfast buffet. There was a great choice from "appetizing* continental breakfast options, fruit and cereal and I can personally recommend the scrambled eggs bacon choice.. Did I mention the value for money to stay.

Early morning traffic noise but I guess you cannot change that

The staff were very friendly and helpful, advised me of the best restaurants in town, and easily accommodated my request to have an earlier than normal breakfast. The facilities were clean, and I couldn't fault anything with the room. I was travelling with my bicycle and the staff showed me to the secure bike storage where I was able to keep it throughout my stay.

The kitchen staff weren't quite ready when I turned up for breakfast, and were still setting things out, but they were happy to bring me anything extra that hadn't been put out yet.

The Hotel Apolo has the perfect location for exploring Vila Real. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, breakfast was outstanding and the staff friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay at the Apolo again.

HVAC unit didn't work our first night and couldn't be repaired so we were moved into a different and nicer room. The door lock system in the new room had problems and we had to be let into our room several times by the staff.

The room was bright, clean and well serviced. The staff on reception spoke good English, were polite and very helpful. We had originally planned to stay for one night but stayed for a second. Very close to the centre with a good selection of shops and restaurants. Well organised car parking.

Breakfast was included but was a little basic although offering a reasonably good selection. Coffee was from a machine, drinkable but only just.

Updated and very clean hotel. Wonderful staff who assisted us with all of our tourist needs. Quiet and safe area. Clean room with very comfortable beds. quiet AC, and balcony. Great location in the center of town. Walking distance to ferry to Spain. Walking distance to marina and all restaurants and shops. And about 30 minutes beautiful walk along pine forest to Monte Gordo beach.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the hotel or the town.

The room was a very good size and I really liked the special touch of the welcome letter, bottle of water and tea and coffee facilities. The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel was extremely clean. We also loved the breakfast. Freshly made scrambled eggs, an amazing selection of fruit, cheeses and fresh bread. Excellent location for the local bars, restaurants and the ferry to Spain.
