G2 Hotel Myeongdong

About 10min walk to Myeongdong. Located in a neighbourhood with lots of restaurants (you got to go into the side lanes), and cafes. Easy to grab a taxi. You can either wait by the roadside or the hotel can call one for you and it will come in 1-2 minutes. Good that it's away from busy Myeongdong as traffic is bad there. Triple room was the corner room right in front of the lift. Big and spacious for 3 adults and there were 2 wardrobes which is really helpful. Toilet was new and modern. No leaking of water onto the floor when you shower. Room is fairly new with convenient light and aircon switches on the wall and next to the beds. Beds were really comfortable and they gave every person 2 pillows each. Housekeeping was thorough and clean. Did not try the hotel food. Staff was polite and some could speak English really well. Most can understand and speak basic English. We loved the gym! Pls think about adding a universal set for training the upper body.

Shower area should have a grab bar. Need more wall hooks in the toilet. Vanity area had no shelves so it was difficult to keep our toiletries dry. Hotel has 16 floors and we stayed on the 7th floor. Our windows were facing another office building and their windows so we had to keep our curtains closed most of the time, as buildings were so near to each other. Lack of a large supermarket nearby although there were several minimarts nearby selling very basic stuff. We had to walk to Shinsegae for that.

We loved the location, it’s situated away from the busy streets so you can have a nice relaxing stay without the noise, but close enough that you can walk to the best parts of myeongdong wishing a few minutes. The cleanliness of the hotel was incredible for a 3 star hotel, it did feel more like a 4 star, thank you G2 Hotel

Booking.com showed the hotel to be a 4 star hotel when in fact it was a 3 star, regardless it was value for money but I feel booking.com should be more transparent with this. Absolutely nothing the hotel could do about it, I cannot fault the hotel, great stay

Staff were very friendly and helpful round the clock when we needed assistance, and spoke English. Location is near 3 different metro station lines (about 5 to 10mins walk), and walking distance to myeongdong's main streets of shops. Room was very clean, power outlet was international friendly, and they also provided cables with different heads for charging. They also allowed us to check in an hour early.

The toilet was clogged twice during our stay, and we were informed it happens from time to time. The a/c on our last two nights started making noises (water sound) and on the last night it started to smell when the a/c was on, along with the noise coming from it. We ended up switching it off and opening the window for the night. (A/c could have been due for a filter change, possibly?) Despite the above, we liked this place and would consider coming back again :)

Location was very good, about two blocks from subway and bus lines, and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Just off of major streets, there was little street sound with windows closed. Rooms were comfortable, clean, quiet, and well-maintained.

Could be improved with darker curtains and less obtrusive backlighting on switches and controls, which might make sleep difficult for anyone sensitive to light.

Very good location - about a 5-10 mins walk to Myeongdong shopping street. Has a convenience store right downstairs the hotel. Staff were extremely helpful to allow us to check in early + keep our luggages for a few days while we were in Jeju after we checked out.

Went during winter and the hotel has a central heating system that turns on automatically during the night. Can't adjust (only can turn it off) so it's either too hot or too cold. But no big deal as we can open the window for the cool wind to come in (and it has a mosquito net too so no worries about insects flying in!)

Room was big enough, bed was comfortable, toilet is with bidet and with all the toiletries you need(toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner, comb, cotton buds, cotton pad, shower cap) location was not too near but not too far from places we needed to travel to, plenty of convenient shops nearby, nice rooftop garden, reliable area to do laundry in basement too. Staff were overall nice and helpful too. Tips: Take one of the cards at the lobby counter that has the address of hotel in case you need to take taxis. There are only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers which take approx 1.5h and 1h for normal wash.

Like most reviews here, the corridor to rooms is pretty dim.

The location is quite near Myeong-dong area, maybe 5 minute walk to either the train station and to Myeong-dong. The very good thing in this hotel is that you can set the temperature whether you want it warm or cold even during Winter or temps outside are negative. There are occasional noises along the corridors but it hardly affects sleep. The windows are not fully sound proofed but since this is located in a quiet street, there are minimal noises. Tip is to request a room not facing the street. The room is spacious for two large suitcases and the bathrooms are quite big for SK’s standards. There are some good cafe’s nearby and lots of soup and porridge places also, perfect during winter time. They also let us get an additional 1 hour for late check out. Did not try the breakfast/gym/laundry since we only stayed a week. But overall, would be returning back to this hotel again.

It is quite dark in the room, even if all lights are on it’s sometimes hard to pack things at night, but opening the curtains during the day solves this issue.

The hotel was centrally.located, with the convenience of shops and restaurants nearby, and within easy walking distance of 2 train stations so we could access different parts of the city with ease. It was also very clean, and the laundry facilities in the basement was a bonus!

We took 3 rooms, and wanted 2 if them to be adjoining. Unfortunately, the hotel does not have such rooms, and also could not have us all on the same floor....
