Protea Hotel by Marriott Entebbe

We arrived on a Sat afternoon. There was the free shuttle service to and from the airport. The hotel is right by lake shore and the view was great. In the hotel there were families enjoying the weekend by the pool side. The vibe of the hotel was quite relaxing and peaceful. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were good. Facilities were nice and well maintained. The hotel is also right next to a public beach where locals were partying, but we did not go to the beach because of the crowd.

Overall not much to complain about. The rooms are well maintained but felt a little worn out. But it was very acceptable and we enjoyed our stay. While free shuttle service was provided, the 2-3 mins ride from the airport to the hotel became over 30 mins due to heavy traffic getting out of the airport. Not the fault of the hotel though. The driver Saddiq did kept us engaged and interested by introducing Uganda and Entebbe to us while were stuck in traffic. That was very nice of him.

Great location for me as I needed to be close to the airport and the UN base. hotel is secure and comfortable.

The hotel phone doesn’t go through if you call before arriving at the hotel. All communication is by email . They can do better by fixing their phone listed on the website

The Executive suite I slept in with the view of the lake. The friendly and professional staff. Breakfast is super. One can easily have that for the entire day.

The fish wasn't good. It had a bad smell.

The bugs at evening, mosquito in the room. The gym equipment is a little old and out-dated. And they need to be cleaned properly, some handle are sticky.

Wifi in the rooms furthest away from the dining room is terrible. Rest of the resort is very good.

We made two stops at this hotel on our way in and out of Entebbe. The hotel was operating under COVID protocols that made us very comfortable during our stay. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to anticipate our needs. Both rooms were lovely and had a small, private outside space with Lake Victoria views. Hats off to Marriott for going the extra mile to keep guest and staff safe.

The room was clean, the food is fresh, my requests were taken care of, the pool and gym are really great

Coffee wasn’t ready at breakfast time both mornings. The room was for 2 people, yet towels/cups/coffee/tea, etc were laid for 1.

ordering off the menu took almost an hour to get means (Everyday). which was irritating for lunch when we only had an hour lunch break in our conference

we enjoyed our stay at Protea very much even though it was for one night. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a gorgeous view of Lake Victoria. the shuttle service was prompt to pick us up from the airport and although we were delayed to exit the airport due to the Covid testing process, the driver was polite and understanding.
