Hilton Garden Inn Kampala

Staff are amazingly friendly and attentive. The hotel is nicely located in Kampala, close to many nice areas at walk distance. The rooms are overall quite comfortable. The breakfast offers many delicious options. The transfer service from the airport is very convenient, especially when landing late at night time.

The showers don't have any curtain or door, so when you shower it splashes the bathroom quite considerably. The faucets from the sinks are rather short and place well behind the basin, so it's a bit awkward to use it (your hands typically end up touching the back part of the basin). It's nice that the rooms have carpets, though they could be cleaned more thoroughly. Couple of times I have found balls of hairs entangled with the carpet fabric.

The hotel is very clean. The room was always cleaned every day and clean bedsheets daily which was very nice. The room size me ‘Queen’ room was just perfect size with mod cons. Bathroom was exquisite, I loved the power shower. Wash toiletries were provided and topped as needed. Complimentary bottled water daily, 2 bottles per day !! Swimming facility was great too. Staff are very friendly, from the secure at the entrance gate and entrance to the hotel. I found the security personnel went over and above their duty to assist me. I wasn’t sure about the transport system but they would happily get a ‘boda boda’ which is motorbike taxi, and ensure I was being over charged! This I thought was just extra care…. well done security team especially the very young man; always smiling and cheerful. Nothing was too difficult when you asked for help.

The room service meals were just a bit disappointing to be honest. Either too salty, not flavourful and my supposed ‘African Chicken stew’ was too full of tiny bits of bones. but this simple dish should have been their unique dish showcasing Uganda. Unfortunately very disappointing 🙁 The swimming pool though aesthetically very nice, but not chlorinated which I think can present a health hazard….the birds were drinking from it..!!!!

The staff certainly make this hotel. I have seldom met such a friendly and professional team in a mainstream hotel chain. The airport transfer service is excellent value for money. Breakfast offered a good selection for all tastes and the room service menu is varied and of very good quality. The hotel is located close to some excellent restaurants, shopping and coffee shops.

My absolute pet hate for any hotel bathroom is the lack of a toilet brush... and there was no toilet brush here. The gym is located in the hotel basement with open vents to the main street. Vehicle exhaust is heavier than air and tastes heavy in the room....

The room was clean and well facilitated with everything a business traveller would need including ironing station and blow drier. I was able to get an early check in set up for me just minutes to arrival, the staff were extremely courteous and readily available to attend to any of my needs. The breakfast was good, I typically enjoy a light breakfast so availability of tea and a range of fruits was perfect for me. The coffee could be upgraded abit, I recommend buying from Great Lakes Coffee Roastery as they have some of the best coffee blends in Uganda. Check out was smooth and I think I may have found the perfect hotel for all my future business travel to Uganda.

A very good, convenient. hotel. Everything was as you would expect. Despite its name it is not set in lush grounds but the pool is pleasant and there is outside seating. Staff delightful. Close to Acacia Mall and the Museum.

If you arrive close to the conclusion of breakfast ( we had had a late arrival the previous night) the selection available is somewhat diminished.

Room was modern, spacious and comfortable, plenty of hot water for a shower and fresh towels, large safe for a lap top. Stayed for a second night and breakfast on both days was both plentiful and provided multiple options, also we were not rushed even though we exceeded the advertised time scale. At check in I was charged foe breakfasts even though they were included in my booking. Once pointed out, I emailed the manager who rectified the error immediately. All staff were particularly helpful and friendly but special mention to Bettina on reception who helped me with the above error.

Food on our second evening took some time to arrive, even though the restaurant was not particularly busy, whereas on our first evening it was very efficient. Likewise there only appeared to one bar man serving two bars on different floors on the second night.

The accommodation is located near the Acacia Mall, just a few mins walk and there are lots of eateries and entertainment nearby. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and the staff were friendly, polite, professional and helpful. The Uganda Museum is a few mins walk away too. We loved the location for sure. We went on the roof terrace and the veiw of the surroundings was so beautiful.

I don't recall anything negative about the hotel during our stay, we only have happy memories.

The hotel and the rooms are very comfortable. Music is lovely in the lobby. The staff were very helpful, welcoming and friendly. They have nice food options for lunch and dinner. Their alcohol selection is also great. The pool was nice and relaxing.

The breakfast wasn't too great for the price, there weren't many options available (67,000 shillings if it's not included in your room booking). On my last two nights, I didn't get the coffee bags in my room from room service.

the administration is not on the same level I should have been paying with my card and there was an issue to withdraw the amount so the reception insisted to pay in cash in advance I gave them the money cash then to try to withdraw again tomorrow, however they refused to try gain and give the cash back

Never tried their Breakfast as I normally skip to lunch. I did have dinner on every stay and each time it was excellent! - The Chef called my room later to ask how my dinner was - Nice touch!

This hotel is perfect for someone in town for business quick in and out and it ticks all the boxes of expectations for this purpose and so there isn't really much that I or others may not like except for the parking which is extremely tight - I drive an LC so every time I stay here, I get a dent from other cars the morning after as a souvenir
