Anaheim Maingate Inn

This hotel was truly a great option if you're just planning to spend all of your time at Disney & just need a good spot to sleep. & Also, if you don't mind walking to the park, you can save money on transportation! It took me and my husband about 25 minutes to walk to the park, and the walk is actually quite lovely. It's an easy walk, lined by beautiful palm trees, that is well-lit at night, and even disney music along the way!! I recommend taking a shortcut through the Grand Californian gate to cut over to downtown Disney. Also, there is a bus right outside of the hotel that supposedly has free transportation to Disney, but we didn't use it. The hotel location was in a quiet & safe area, with nearby food and gas. The staff was really nice, and the room was decent. Of course, the room is very outdated but it had all the amenities we needed & wasn't dirty. They were in the process of remodeling actually, so we were surprised by a cute upgraded room with modern decor! Although that might not be the case for everyone. It had a fridge and microwave which was convenient since we brought a lot of food to save $$. The bed was comfy. I highly recommend this location if you are looking to save money so you can spend more at the park!! ;)

My only complaint is that there was no coffee machine, hair dryer, or iron. These are basic things I feel like every hotel room should have.

This hotel is in a great location, very close to Disney. You can walk there, or you can Uber to down town disney for a low price! They are installing new AC's in the units, and everything looked very updated! With in walking distance from two gas stations.

We really loved this hotel, but the water pressure is almost non-existent (if you have thick hair, it will take you a very long time to rinse it) the newer ac units are great and they have air cleaners in them, these cause a purple glow to fill the room at night.

Pros: The location is reasonably walk-in to DL, Very friendly, pleasant, and accommodating staffs. Special thanks to Ms. Auda. Parking was good. Had a Mini fridge + freezer and a Microwave. Fire works could be watched from the balcony or front entrance. Cons: Towels could have been better quality. Sink was leaking and Bathroom tub was slow in draining. Overall: It was a pleasant stay and economical. Reliable and safe. Very pleasing staffs.

it’s in peaceful place, calm and quiet to stay. The hotel is 2km far from downtown. For meals, either I had to go that far or I had to order online. I used the microwave oven efficiently as I had ready to cook packs with me.

they did not keep drinking water. when I asked for it then they told I need to go outside and purchase water bottles. I was totally surprised and asked the hotel receptionist for what could be they doing for drinking water and she said she gets it from her home and everyone else do the same. later the receptionist was very kind and she gave me a big can of bottle.

The reviews are usually bad so I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised! I had a refurbished room and I have no remarks or complaints, it is close to Disney and you can even cut through the parking lot to do the last leg by tram.

The walls are a bit thin so if you have noisy neighbors you will hear it.

It was nice having a microwave since the continental breakfast was not offered, we were able to microwave frozen breakfast sandwiches. The pillows were very comfortable.

The maid service only came if you had your maid service sign on the outside of your room. We weren’t told that so we expected our beds to be made when we got back to the room that night to find that they were not. If I had been told I needed the sign when we got there, I would have put the sign out.

Excellent price for our family of four! The beds were comfortable and the room had everything we needed. The local ART bus stops right outside the hotel and was easy transportation to and from Disneyland.

For a family of four with two teenagers, the room was a little small. It was fine for us since we don't spend much time in the room when traveling, but if you are looking to relax and spend a lot of time there, you may want to look for something larger.

great location with good walking distance to Disney. not much time spent on site but when we were here it was good. a bunch of drunks woke us ip fighting in the night multiple times. the beds are very very firm. hotel was clean. they are mid remodeling but no late or too early construction sounds. bummed out about parking fee

Rooms are old, shower pressure is alright, dusty under the beds but I don’t sleep there so idc much. The a/c unit is very old and I’d suggest making sure it works before you stay there. Ours did but if it didn’t it would be hot. If you’re planning on chilling in your room for hours, go somewhere else. I’d stay again to sleep and shower only. Also!!! Outlets are TRASH!! I believe in you Maingate, fix those outlets!

This is a hotel where you come in having a frugal mentality. If you have dreamt of coming to Disneyland or want to come frequently, but rather use your funds more on Disneyland rather than a hotel, this is the place, it’s a good deal. If you think about it, all you really do is just use the hotel to come to sleep, shower and head out early for an entire day at Disneyland. I would like to mention that I loved Aura the front desk receptionist! She was extremely friendly, patient, and very helpful and mentioned if there was something she could do, she’d be at my service. The hotel may be a bit run down but the room I received (211), was one of the ones with a renovated floor (I don’t like carpet). I really liked the fact that we had cable tv, a refrigerator, microwave, table and chair to eat at. I also liked the option of having a door hanger to request/not request room cleaning. For the days I requested room cleaning, my room was cleaned, no one touched my things and I received new toiletries. I know people rate this hotel 3 stars, but to be honest, I felt safe and Aura made the rating go up higher, so I will give it a 4 Star rating. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would stay here again, Thank You. 🙂

I think for me this is an obstacle at every hotel: having different devices charge in various outlets around the room or only one available outlet. Lucky for me, I like to come prepared with an outlet surge protector on trips so that I can have all my devices charging in one place.
