Tamarack Beach Hotel

we enjoyed all the amenities including breakfast, parking that’s included in the hotel stay, location and the heated pool. the staff made us feel welcome every time we greeted them. we stayed in a balcony room and it was an amazing view and enjoyed hearing the waves crash at night. for a women that forgot her makeup removing wipes, that was a huge plus for me having two make ups next to the toiletries that are included in the room.

The staff was excellent, the room was spacious and very comfortable. Although we were on the 1st floor and was a bit noisy due to cars, the view made up for that. Very good soundproof doors and windows, so street noise was no big deal. Decent breakfast, ADA compliant which is awesome, fulfilled my daughter's handicap needs. Nice REC room, various activities for the guests, great underground parking and good coffee and tea all day long. They provided us with beach chairs, towels and umbrella which made our beach day, right across the street from the resort 100% magnificent. Walking distance to everything, next time we will stay longer!

The pool could have been bigger, lots of guests, but the beach made up for that.

Great property! I will visit again. The amenities were stellar and the location just perfect. Newspaper delivery in the morning was a nice surprise.

Please be more sustainable. The whole breakfast was based on single-use items and pretty much everything was wrapped individually in plastic. This is wasteful and very irresponsible of you. There were two staff members standing in the room so clearly you do have the staff capacity to do this better.

We stayed in a hotel room while my mother was in her time share. The hotel had free breakfast (simple) but it was a nice touch. We spent most of our time in the time share when not outside. Thank God there were amenities in the hotel portion because none were supplied in the time share. The best part of course is the location: it can't get any better than that! Just cross the street and you are on the sand and in the ocean (where we spent some time with our young daughter). You can also take a nice relaxing walk along the sand, getting away from having to walk on the street sidewalk with all the traffic. The overall look and feel of the property is nice but not luxurious. There is a pool and hot tub. Staff is friendly as they should be.

It actually was okay. Even traffic at night was not a bother because basically, after about 9 p.m., traffic really quiets down. Daytime though it is busy.

The hotel is located across from the beach. Easy walking access to all...shopping, resturants and ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by the quaintness of the hotel and ALL they offer. Pool and spa were clean. The beds were comfortable and the staff very attentive! It was a wonderful trip for my friend and I who celebrated her birthday and NEW Lungs!

Excellent location; beautiful view from the room. The room was very nice and roomy. Great balcony with ocean view. Hotel is within walking distance to the Carlsbadvillage, stores and restaurants.

Breakfast was mediocre. The waffles were not good. The rest of the sweets, and cereal, bacon were ok. Coffee could be better.

This was the third time staying here. We love being so close to the beach. The staff is exceptional. We have had the same room three years in a row without requesting, they just wanted us to feel “at home”.

The only thing I did not like was a staff member who pulled up right at the front door of the hotel and checked in for work and left her car there. We were trying to load our car at the same time.

Loved the location, easy to walk right to the beach, lots of great restaurants in walking distance. Rooms were great, clean, and solid AC holding a cool temperature. Easy to get set up with parking under the hotel. Would absolutely stay again when traveling here.

The complimentary breakfast and it’s service was shockingly lackluster for a 3 star hotel where everything else about the hotel was quite great. With only one employee stationed and COVID protocols set in place it was a 45-50 minute ordeal to receive a cup coffee and waffle. It was the first and only time I got breakfast here during the trip. Plan to Uber to a diner.

Accommodations were clean well stocked with necessities. Parking was easily accessed and FREE Close to restaurants and shops.

Toilet. Needs to be changed to "Comfort Height/ Elongated" type to better accommodate seniors.

View from the room was great! Location of the facility made it good for beach and restaurant access. Bedsheet exchange was awesome! The housekeepers really tried to find me some sheets that were soft, not scratchy--and they did! They asked every day if we needed anything or wanted our room cleaned--very nice!!

The breakfast was adequate--rather awkward tho to have a worker pick everything for us. Wish there had been some scrambled eggs. The bacon was very limp and poorly cooked. The orange juice was not good. It would have been nice to have almond milk as a choice. The noise from the highway! Couldn't leave the door open because it was so loud--I realize you have no control over that, but it did impact our vacation some.
