The location is excellent, near a riverside park. Note that the local fire station is just behind the building, but there was no serious activity there except for some fire truck testing done around 9 am. The apartment has a dated charm and the bed was very comfortable (not too hard or soft). I had to use the A/C at night, but the noise was more like white noise and did not bother me, even though I am very sensitive to these issues.

My only minor complaint is that the floors did not seem particularly clean when I had to wipe off some food from the living room floor with a wet paper towel. It would be nice if it was mopped more regularly.

This is the most romantic, clean, fully furnished with a full kitchen with more amenities than anyone could ever need. The room was above our expectations by far and the local restaurants are amazing. The linens were super clean and fresh smelling, the pillows were fluffy and soft and the beds were soooo comfortable, I could have stayed indefinitely. Our privacy was respected as we never saw a staff member during our stay. Our two Jack Russell service dogs were welcomed with opened arms. This is our first choice for lodging in Kernville. I give them a 100 out of 10.

There wasn't a thing that we didn't live

Unbelievably good value and such a beautiful house. We had the entire top floor which was furnished beautifully with a complete kitchen with everything you needed to eat like kings. The bedrooms are large and the beds comfortable and in the front room you’re lulled to sleep by the murmur of the river flowing over the rocks. We couldn’t believe that we got a whole house top that can accommodate 8 friends or family for less than the price of an indifferent average motel room. Did we mention the beautiful balcony that runs the width of the house? Take the love of your life for a stay there and have the most romantic evening ever by candlelight to the sound of rippling water and sweet nothings. The house has a Maytag laundry as well so we left there with our suitcases full of clean clothes. The folk running the house were just the best, super friendly with great information on the locality and also how to get up to the Giant Sequioas via the old Sierra Highway. The trees opposite the house on the river reverberate with birdsong, Black Phoebe’s, Cedar Waxwings, California Quail - so many beautiful species to see along with the Murder of Ravens! Sooo, do you think we liked it there?

Lovely, spacious, quirky apartment. Great for the 5 of us...plenty of space for a few more. Brilliant to have 2 bathrooms. Nice kitchen and breakfast bar, also good size dinning table and great lounge area. Whole place felt really homely...much nicer than many of the bland 'IKEA.. ised' apartments we have stayed in. Large balcony was a slice of heaven to sit out on late at night and 1st thing in the morning...listening to the sound of the river rushing by. During the day it was noisy outside yet somehow still felt peaceful inside. O nly stayed 1 night, wished we could have stayed more.

We love the adorable decor, the clean and cozy atmosphere, the family-friendly outdoor areas. It is just a charming place with everything you need to enjoy the little village of Kernville, the river rushing outside, and the park out front. The room had a faux fireplace with heat, a fully stocked kitchen, everything we needed for the trundle bed/sofa, a heat and a/c unit, privacy, and comfortable furnishings. Just perfect for a little family. Can't wait to stay here again.

For the price, there's nothing I would change. We kept the screen doors closed for a cross-breeze (there's an A/C unit but we didn't need to use it) but I failed to notice a small gap under the back door. A little roach crawled in from outside without me realizing it...might be worth it to patch or replace the threshold barrier for that door. The coffee maker was missing the coffee pot -- when I called the office, they were really kind and even offered to reimburse me if I purchased my own coffee at the shop nearby! They said they'd look for the coffee pot. When we got back from spending time on the river, there was a lovely new coffee maker outside our door. We absolutely love the Riverfront Lodge and will be back again.

The location was perfect, very central to Kernville, and beautiful because it’s right by the river. The room itself was great! It was very spacious with a fully equipped kitchen and super comfy big bed. The heater was working well and kept the room really warm. Plus, the check in and check out were easy!

The only thing that I thought could be improved was the shower. The shower door was difficult to close and the water pressure was weak.

Perfect place to go in the Sequoia National Park. Great host. Easy non-personal check-in. Fully equipped and big apartment.

No numbers on the doors to find the booked apartment. The insulation and the closing of the door was bad, so the room was a bit cold. We could only heat up the area around the bed.

LOVED the location! It was located across the street from the Kern River - beautiful! AND, it was walking distance to the restaurants, antique shops, etc. The lodge is old and rustic but the carpet was fairly new and very clean! We were in the Pinecone Suite. It had a full kitchen with all of the supplies, a living area with TV and a bed area. The bed was VERY comfortable!

The bathroom was very very small but we can live with that. The second night we turned the heater up before we went to bed to warm the room and then we turned it way low to 65 because it was VERY loud the night before. The futon in the living room needs a new mattress - its seen its last leg. But other than that, we will stay there again!

The location, right across the street from the Kern River was excellent. Businesses were within walking distance for all needs. Quaint rooms, spotless rooms.

Never met any staff, which was okay. Being 6'7, the bed was too small but the couch sufficed. Bathroom was a bit small for me, shower too short. Probably would return but request a room with 2 beds.

Location could not be beat, it was everything wrong expected and more, beds were super comfortable, and honestly we couldn't believe it when we came in, way more than expected for the price. We come up to Kernville a few times a year, will definitely be staying here every time so long as it isn't booked.
