Metro Plaza Hotel

The location is fabulous. I was coming in to Union station with the purpose of going to dodger stadium so the location was perfect. It was also good value for money. The bed was super comfy and the shower was good too.

I wouldn’t say I didn’t like it but you must bear in mind that its a budget hotel. The decor is a bit tired and because of construction work there’s no breakfast on offer. This wasn’t a major problem though with Phillips’s restaurant on the next corner.

Location is in the middle of the city, close to union station, chinatown and downtown area. Very good location.

The location was great, the rooms were modern (they are in the process of renovating and we got a recently renovated room), and the service was great. Housekeeping was nothing special, but the front desk staff were very nice and helpful, even late at night. Free mini fridge, free wifi, free cable TV - an excellent value all around. Because it is within walking distance of Union Station, it also has super easy access to a bunch of busses, the subway, light rail, Amtrak, MetroLink, and FlyAway, so it's easy to get around the city.

The view isn't great, but for a low-rise hotel outside DTLA, it's about what you would expect. The wifi is also on the slow side (but it's not annoyingly slow). The free shampoo/conditioner bottles aren't worth your time to try and use them, but there's a convenience store just outside that you can get some decent toiletries from. The hot water takes a few minutes to come on in the shower, but since SoCal water is just warm to begin with, I never bothered waiting - a "cold" shower is more lukewarm here.

The location was great as it is walking distance to Union station which was why we chose it in the first place. Although the facilities are old, the staff was polite and helpful. We love it that they have an ice, hot and cold water dispenser at the lift lobby on the 4th floor where we stayed. The hot water was really hot! However, they have put up notices that they are doing some renovation over the next couple of months as the place really needs it. There is a great dining place about 5 minutes' walk away called Philippe which serves great and reasonably priced food and their pork chops are fantastic.

Old furniture and facilities

Excellent location, ideal for exploring LA via the Metro line or by local bus/Uber. Room was very clean and had everything we needed.

The hotel is old which is fine. It was so close to the train station which is what we needed. The room was VERY CLEAN!! The bathroom was spotless. The bed and pillows were comfy and the a/c while a bit noisy worked great! The view LOL well we got there @ night so we didnt care. We walked to the train station the next morning @ 5:30 am. I would recommend this hotel as being clean, nice desk clerks and being so close to LA Union Station!

We were tired after a long train trip and we just were happy to have a clean hotel room near the train station. I really can't say anything bad about the room or the people during check in/out.

Loved the renovated rooms and coffee in lobby. Good to have a fridge in the room. Great location to Chinatown, new Buffalo Wild Wings and Union Station with Dodger Express Bus and LAX Airport Bus. Will always stay here again when attending Los Angeles Dodgers games.

Terrible water pressure and NO hot water in shower. Room was located next to housekeeping room, which was a little noisy in the morning. No microwave in room. Still alot of homeless around, but area seem to be in the process of gentrifying.

The room was comfortable, quiet, and adequately equipped. The location is very good benefiting from the walking distance to Union Station (metro and trains), This is crucial for someone who does not have a private car during the stay in the city. Union Station also has the only bar you can drink a beer after six pm... The Mexican Pueblo Square nearby also adds to the location. Unfortunately, everything closes between 5-6 pm except weekends. Check the CVS pharmacy on the back side of the block. It is open 24h and has a lot of foodstuffs. I emphasized on the location because it is probably the great comparative advantage of the hotel

I wish the sale machines in the hotel functioned

Was in town for a dodger night game so decided to get a room, I was skeptical about the area but it has really been cleaned up since our last visit precovid. Once we park our vehicle we like to start our vacation and don’t plan on driving again till we leave. This hotel is walking distance conveniently located across from Olivera st. restaurants and shopping. The main reason we chose this hotel was for the walking distance to union stations Dodgers express bus pick up (highly recommend) because we did not want to mess with the uber chaos and long waiting. The hotel room and bathroom was clean and very spacious just very outdated Not sure about the carpet though it definitely needs to be replaced. Front desk staff was friendly and informative. Parking was only $5.00 for the night on site in attached garage. The Valet did wave us off at first saying small cars only because we have a big truck but I got out and explained we were staying at the hotel and he immediately welcomed us in making sure we had a safe spot to park. We will stay again.

All the carpet needs to be replaced.

Thank you so much to let me stay with you because my flight was delayed for 26 hours from New York and I couldn't show up on the first day but I kept in contact with the staffs about my delayed flight. If you're not allow me to stay with you since the second night I had nowhere to sleep. Staffs is very kind. Room is clean and bed also comfortable. The room size is huge, lot of space. I will stay here again next year. Thanks again.
