Muir Lodge Motel

I really like this place. It feels safe, comfortable, and clean. I also like the location. I prefer the rooms with the bathtub. I like nice aesthetics -- this place is tastefully decorated and has a peaceful and calm vibe. Close to good places to hike and my commute into Albany was easy from this place. This hotel is my first preference when I need a place to stay in the area.

I left my outlet for my curling iron (it turns the curling iron off automatically). When I called they could not locate it. I also have accidentally left my electric tea kettle another visit and they held onto it. I was just bummed to lose my outlet--I've had for years and it never stops working. I've stayed a few times and the sinks tend to drain slowly as did one of the showers.

I loved the quaint old style motel charm. was blown away when I entered into a very modern well appointed room.very smart design. loved that there were two reclining chairs and a very comfortable desk chair and that the plugs on both sides of the bed were equipped with usb connections. large mini fridge/freezer& microwave. They are on a busy street in the old part of town which is a plus for me. the double pane windows and double set of blinds help with the street noise and they even supply ear plugs!!

The room was excellent. Everything was nice and clean and matched the pictures we saw. My boyfriend wasn't too sure about this place until we opened our room. He was shocked by just how nice it was. I'd totally stay here again and downtown Martinez is a super cute area.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable to me and you're pretty close to a road with a lot of car noise, but they supply earplugs.

I’ve been booking hotel rooms in Martinez and Concord since 2016, so I have 4 that I tend to choose from. The Muir Lodge is at the top of my list for cleanliness, modern interior style, bed, and location (highways and downtowns). They refurbished their rooms some years back; I’d have to ask exactly when but the interior style still makes me feel good every time I open the a door to stay here. The elegance and style mixed into the simplicity of a room - just works.

It is a nice classic style motor hotel. There is a parking space right in front of your room. The rooms look like they have been recently remodeled and are very nice. The beds were really comfortable and they put lots of pillows on the bed. There is a mini fridge with a freezer compartment and there is a microwave. They also provide a hair dryer and a iron and ironing board. They provide complimentary ear plugs but we didn't need them. The rooms seem well insulated and you hear the occasional car go by but it was not too bad.

I really did not find anything to be bad. I think I would be nitpicking because everything can't be perfect right?The only negative is when other guests come out into the parking lot early in the morning and have loud conversations but you can't blame the hotel for that.

The rolls were delicious.

Alhambra street is busy and noisy. But I have to say, while there was automobile noise from the street, it wasn’t bothersome. The double roll-down blinds really helped with excessive light and noise too. The A/C worked well, helping to create a cool environment for resting.

Great location, polite staff, clean and comfortable.

A group a couple doors down were having a BBQ right out front of their room. They politely invited us, but we were heading in for the evening. Not a true "negative", but did feel kind of cornered to accept that there would be a loud-ish bbq going for a while.

The rooms were recently remodeled from the looks. It was comfortable and thoughtful placements and appointments, like the microwave, refrigerator and freezer. Clean linens, impeccably clean tile floors and the perfect amount of hangers. We were in room #1, it’s a one double bed and simple layout with all the necessities. We had parking in front most times and the handicap space was almost always open if the parking in front wasn’t. It was surprising a quiet room despite being next to the reception and ice machine. Also, the management were quite thoughtful to not let street riff raff in. The exterior was clean. This was an outstanding stay.

Great comfortable clean motel. Room was updated and the bed was really comfortable. Great motel experience. Brought back great memories.

The room ac was either on or off the fan didn’t keep running and it woke me a few times. This is not a big deal but i always like to give some areas for improvement. I would stay here again!!!!!

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the rooms are very nice inside. Close to the freeway and in a convenient location. Room had bottled water and ear plugs, that was a first

Ice machine was a little slow. Small pool
