This is a very modern, stylish and clean hotel. Our room was very, very clean, comfortable and quiet (including AC system, neighbors and outside noise). It's not the cheapest option out there, but you get a lot for the price. We'll definitely stay there again.

Parking options are only valet or street parking. Valet was $50+, which feels too high. And street parking is enforced Mon-Sat and it seems like a busy city area, so you're better off using valet, which of course adds to the total price.

no parking available… had to use valet which at $52 day takes the hotel stay from reasonable to pricey….. no vending machines to purchase water, soda or snacks at a reasonable price….. first hotel I’ve ever been to without vending machines ….. the shower glass doesn’t come far enough to keep water from soaking the floor …. no iron in the room … yes it has a steamer but and iron is faster and needed to press shirts for business attire (steamer takes too long)

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Everyone from the valets to security to the front desk were super helpful. My wife used the suite to stay and get ready for our vow renewal at the nearby cathedral, the room had tons of space and natural light for her and her bridesmaids as well as their hair and makeup stylists. Perfect subtle touches included under bed lighting that activates when your feel hit the floor so that you don't need to turn on a lamp to find your way in the dark, a comfy robe, and breakfast. With all of the stress and challenges that come with planning a wedding ceremony and reception, The Kissel Uptown really allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

First off, the staff are so helpful and friendly. I was a guest 7 weeks ago and two of them remembered me. The Kissel is clean and chic. From the moment I walked into the lobby, the music, the fragrant smell and the decor all made me feel excited to be a guest. My room was small but clean and well decorated. I had a King-Terrace Room and I really liked sitting out in the terrace to get some fresh air. If I ever needed to stay overnight in Oakland, I will certainly be staying at the Kissel.

No safe self-parking.

Did not have breakfast but the menu looked good

Had requested a walk in shower with bars and a bench but they did not have after detailed prior notice and they did not have. My godmother is 101 years old and uses a walker. Also after 4 rings phone calls go to voice mail. She did not have time to get to the phone. This is mot good for 101 year old on a walker.

Clean, quiet, stylish. Comfortable bed, nice shower. Good small gym. Easy walk to Lake Merritt, BART, restaurants.

Tried calling restaurant for room service a couple of different times and never got through.

nice size rooms. need key card for elevator. staff was very accommodating (except for one). rooms and bathrooms seemed very clean. the room temperature was very comfortable

bathroom towel hangers didn’t make any sense. rug placement/size with placement of chairs didn’t make sense.

Efficient, good breakfast in lobby restaurant. Pleasant, modern décor and vibe. Very nice, modern, clean hotel.

No room service yet. Would be a nice addition, though there is a restaurant in the hotel and restaurants all around the location.

Breakfast was good in the lobby bar/restaurant. Cute decor.

It was pretty loud. You could hear every door close in the hallway. Would be good for hotel to offer earplugs or have them on hand for guests.

The entire facility was really great, super comfortable and stylist. The staff was great and the location was fantastic for what I was visiting Oakland for.

It's expensive, 1 night and two cocktails was $325.00.
