Hyatt Place Emeryville/San Francisco Bay Area

Clean, comfortable rooms. Pet friendly. Has a nice little doggy potty area. Good location. (Much better than many surrounding areas.) Great staff. We love being able to fit our family of 5 plus our fur baby all in 1 room with 2 queens and a large couch/sitting area wl a sofa bed. Good shopping just out the door of the hotel. Walking distance to AMC, Trader Joes, and much more. Decent breakfast.

Parking is tough, not uncommon in the area. At least there is a parking garage close to the hotel. No pool or hot tub. I miss the former chef! Breakfast is Ok, but not like before. On one side of the hotel you hear the train (tracks are right next to it.)

Location

Staff would not allow us to check in 1 hour before the scheduled time without paying an extra fee. A room was ready but desk clerk wanted to charge us the extra fee. This would have been fine, but the next day I heard another clerk give a guest an early check in with no fee charged.

Central location meant we could easily access all of the Bay Area. The area around the hotel is really nice, especially the Bay Street outdoor mall that has loads of shopping. The parking rates were reasonable, with plenty of parking for guests. The included breakfast was great, with something for everyone. Definitely enjoyed staying so close to restaurants in Oakland and Berkeley.

There were a few times where we smelled marijuana smoke in the hallways. The extra parking is in a garage that is about a 5min walk away, which can be a nuisance. Other stores like Trader Joe's and Ross are across a busy street which is not very pedestrian friendly. We weren't told that we had to explicitly request room cleaning, but we didn't stay long enough for that to be a problem.

Breakfast was good. Proportional nutrition. Fresh fruit available, good protein. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The room we had comes with futon which came in handily. Very satisfied with the overall service.

Area felt safe. Hotel was well maintained and had a nice interior. The room was very clean and nice looking. We got a room with view towards San Francisco, but only on second floor so the view was limited. Breakfast was a typical American hotel breakfast including sugary cereals, yoghurt, bagels, scrambled and cooked eggs, meat and beverages.

Not close to any rail station. So getting to San Francisco other than by own car or taxi was not convenient. The breakfast experience included a lot of unnecessary plastic waste.

THE ROOM WAS VERY SPACIOUS AS WE NEEDED. THERE WAS A VIEW OF THE CITY FROM OUR ROOM. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND BRIGHT. THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND THE BATHROOM WAS SPACIOUS. I LOVED THAT THE LITTLE ROBOT WOULD BRING US TOWELS WHEN WE CALLED. THAT WAS SO COOL. THE BREAKFAST WAS AWESOME AND THE LADY WHO PUTS OUT THE FOOD KEPT IT HOT AND FRESH. THE FOOD TASTED REALLY GOOD. SHE WAS VERY NICE.

I WOULD HAVE LIKED MY ROOM TO BE CLEANED AT LEAST ONE TIME DURING MY STAY BUT THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. NOT SURE WHY. THE REFRIGERATOR WASN'T ON HIGH WHEN WE ENTERED THE ROOM AND OUR FIRST NIGHT OF FOOD WE ORDERED SPOILED IN IT BECAUSE OF THAT SO WE COULDN'T EAT IT THE NEXT DAY. WE DID TURN THE SETTING UP THE NEXT MORNING WHEN WE NOTICED AND IT WORKED WELL. IT TOOK SOME GETTING USE TO CALLING EVERY MORNING FOR TOWELS.

We spent two nights here and don't have any complaints. The room size was good, it had a large fridge and also had a safe. We also had a seating area and couch pulled out to become a third bed for the room. Breakfast was okay, there was bagels to toast, cereals and also some hot food. My husband follows a dairy free and gluten free diet and he was catered for. The best bit of the stay though, was ordering room Service and it being delivered by Emery the robot!

I loved the clean and well-appointed room as well as the well-stocked breakfast area. the man that was working a night shift brought a microwave up to my room as he saw I had a young daughter and I was coming downstairs to microwave her food after hours. very kind. the front desk was not super useful as far as directions to get to/from the parking lot as I had no idea the Parking garage was not attached to the hotel and we were basically wheeling all our luggage onto a sketchy looking street (not super sketchy, but it was not well lit at night). otherwise, such comfy beds, ample space. I'll stay here again if I man vacationing in SF.

The hotel is clean and located in an area where you can access the freeway easily.

They are still functioning like we are in high covid times. Limited staff. Bar area is non-existent. Should be a full menu and bar available during the day and evening. Seems that this hotel only staffs for the front desk and for the buffet breakfast. Parking should be free. If parking is not available near the hotel, you have to park at the mall parking lot. Why am I paying for that?

Parking was not great . I was alone husband in the hospital in Oakland. Had to park on 2nd floor of parking garage next-door couldn’t figure out how to get down and had walk down the driveway. unsafe for anyone alone. Ice Machines only on a couple of floors if you need ice you got to go to a different floor.
