The Sunset Inn

Common areas and room were clean. Appliances worked well. Comfortable sleeping accommodations. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Everything worked great.

Bathroom floor was a little sticky, so I used bath floor mat to stand upon. Breakfast was disappointing. Appreciated waffles, but they were stored in steamer pan, making them soggy. OJ was diluted, and one batch tasted sour. Muffins were absent. OJ and milk were in pitchers that fell apart when tipped to pour out the final serving, which then spilled the poured cup all over. Generally, it seemed that breakfast was stocked to a 30% level, which left my whole party disappointed. Other than breakfast, this motel did a pretty good job.

The breakfast was one of the best free breakfasts that I have had at a hotel. Great variety and great taste. Manager was very nice and personable. Room was very clean. Exceed expectations especially for the price. I would definitely recommend!

This quaint motel has large rooms, and what they may lack in frills is completely compensated for with the wonderful staff. Every single person working in this establishment seems to really care about their job. It almost seems like a family operation, but I think it is just a family of people who want to give their visitors the best experience possible.

The only issue I ran into was needing my key card recharged a couple times during my stay. They were more than helpful and very apologetic for the inconvenience, which it was not really at all. I don't foresee this being a problem much in the future. The motel was making equipment and software upgrades in an effort to make the Sunset Inn a better experience for their visitors.

Very helpful and personable staff at front desk. Size of the room was huge! Great value with kids. Liked that there were 2 sinks. Clean guest laundry facility too.

Didn't like seeing domesticated cats in hallways hanging around hotel being fed and petted by various guests. Not sure if they are tied to the hotel but water and food dishes by the back door didn't seem favorable to a guest having them. I am deathly allergic to them...enough said! The cook was upset because I changed the channel from the weather station to news when other guests wanted to watch the news as well. I also had permission from the hotel manager on duty. There was a clear chip on the cook's shoulder with guests and how food was served after that. Great food though! In retrospect, everyone has a bad day including myself.

Handicap room was clean and comfortable, breakfast offerings had a great selection. I did not have an animal with me, but obviously popular with traveling pet owners. I liked it was walking distance to a pub/restaurant, but I did not make it there, will definitely go next time I stay, I will be back!

originally was sent to upstairs room, upon entering it was evident that the room was overlooked and not cleaned after last guest, bed unmade and towels on floor in bath...but I was then given the hadicap room was good but no tub. Not a big problem, but for the desk it was busy 6pm.

breakfast was very good. Get there early while the eggs are still fresh. Potatoes were delicious So a little salty. Sausage was nice. Waffles were freshly made. Excellent. I liked the coffee. I also liked that it was new construction and not a funky refurbish The room was very serviceable. We brought our own coffee mugs. A bed light for reading might be helpful for some. no street noise. staff was great and we liked the cats. this is not a chain, and we enjoyed the local character

The room was very warm during our winter stay. We turned the thermostat down to 61 and it was still hot. We probably would have done fine to turn off the temp entirely for sleeping.

Good rates, quiet location, clean and secure. Mindy was exceptional, made our stay better and easy. And a good breakfast! We have stayed there before and will again.

The woman who checked us in, before Mindy came on duty, was completely unable or untrained. She made mistakes, had to ask my husband for credit card and driver's license a couple of times as she didn't process correctly. And she didn't run the card! Mindy had to straighten her mess ups. She needs training or be replaced

What a pleasant surprise - so much better than overpriced chains! Quiet - even the heater/cooler didn't make the noise that usually keeps us awake at night in the fancy chains. Good mattress. Clean! wonderful bathroom. Carpet clean and nice.

Light blocking curtains on the window. Rack to keep suitcase off floor would be nice. A little stand for each side of the bed to put stuff at night instead of on the floor would be appreciated. More hooks.

Breakfast fantastic! Rooms were decent. Nothing fancy but i don't need fancy. Exactly what i like for a vacation hotel. Would rather spend money on adventures, not lodging. And for 100 bucks, i felt safe.

They have a cat that goes in the building. (I saw in breakfast room when we checked in) I am allergic to cats, so would have been nice to know that before. Since we were only there one night and stayed in our room most of time, no big deal.

I'll admit I was skeptical when I saw the name "sunset inn." where I'm from, a name like that would be the seediest dirtiest smoke-smelling roach motel. This was absolutely not that. The staff was super kind and helpful. I had a problem with the wifi and the night receptionist was able to help me with it. Breakfast was great and went beyond what I expected. Actual hot food! Last inn I stayed at, breakfast was a cold pop tart and a juice box. The room was very clean with a good amount of storage options as well as a fridge. What wowed me was the AC was already at a comfy temp (68). I like it colder so I set it as cold as it goes, but it's nice on a hot day to check into a nice precooled room. The price was great too, I've paid much more for much less. I don't make the drive up to Alamosa often, but next time I do, I know where I'm staying
