While it's an unconventional motel, unlike most "chain" hotels and motels, the staff was very friendly and down to earth homely! It was like you were staying with friends than at a motel.
When I first arrived at the property, I thought I was at the wrong place because there were signs of "Do not enter" and "For Rent" on the doors and windows. When I walked around, I saw the sign that mentioned calling the number and the hosts were there within seconds to show me to the room. Unconventional, but once I knew I wasn't at the wrong place, all was good. And the shower is a little tight.

The staff was excellent! If we needed something and called them they were right there. I did feel safe at this place.
I disliked the stairs. I would have liked to see fresh fruit for breakfast.

The staff was very welcoming and accommodated our late arrival. The decor is kitschy and comfortable. The location is perfect if you are taking the Cumbres-Toltec Steam Train ride to Chama. Keep in mind it is an old building so don’t expect chain hotel amenities. It’s clean, safe and a good value. I would stay here again.

Location to train. Loved all the historic furnishings and artwork above each door. Super clean. Dining across the street made it easy. Staff was super helpful.

From the staff to the visiting dogs, everything was outstanding... The room could not be better, the bed was excellent along with having that historic theme... We will be going back and hopefully with more family... This was and is an Awesome Place... Love it!!!

The staff were very helpful, the room was clean, the room was comfortable, and the experience was good overall. The hotel is also close to a good restaurant and the local grocery store. A good place to stay if passing through.
The door handle and lock were a bit tricky and should probably be replaced.

The Hotel is an older building with character for the age of the building. It is in a good location to the train depot and restaurants. It has some upgrades that enhances the property. The accommodations suited our needs.
The only draw back was the uncomfortableness of the bed.

One night at 2am I awakened to very strong smell of cigar smoke. Oddly it was completely gone later. We had no doors or windows opened. There are rumours of ghostly sightings in this building.
