Mein Haus Bed & Breakfast

Friendly welcome by staff, you are asked what you‘d like for breakfast so it can be individually customized, you get your own Crocks and habe to take off your shoes. Common areas are well equipped, there is a well equipped shared kitchen, snacks and other amenities provided. Breakfast is more than the regular American Breakfast, great coffee, home made variety of bread and smoothies. Room was clean, carpet floor, big bathroom, safe and amenities provided. Bed was comfortable too, enough space to drop off luggage.

To take of your shoes may feel a little awkward in the beginning, but fits well into the theme of Mein Haus, makes you feel at home and as part of a family/community, but may not be for everyone. Felt a little uncomfortable by signs posted at the door to NOT wear a mask inside. Since we didn’t meet anybody else expect the owner and kept our distance it was okay, but I think that’s important to know.

Tamara's breakfasts were awesome! She set the coffee timer for an early hour when we told her we were early risers. The pictures do not do justice - the B&B is extremely roomy and comfortable. Beds and bedding were extremely comfortable. Large bathroom and luxurious shower. We enjoyed watching the Super Bowl in the shared living area and meeting some of the other guests. Separate storage area for ski gear. Love the shoes off policy - keeps the B&B very clean! Separate kitchen area for guests with large refrigerator and cabinet space. Enjoyed the hot tub at the end of ski day! Easy walk to ski shuttle. Tamara and Todd were great hosts. Highly recommend this B&B.

The proprietors were welcoming and hospitable. Location is within walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and grocery store within Avon. Mein Haus is also 50 yards away from the town shuttle pickup point. Even their local post office is within a 5 minute walk.

There was nothing that I did not like about the property or the owners.

Breakfast was good...eggs sausage apple crisp, coffee. Not a real inconvenience, but I was in the other building so had to go next door for breakfast. No problem. I might have enjoyed a piece of toast...with my coffee...they probably had a toaster, but I didn't look or ask.

Nothing, really. Mein Haus was very good value for the Vail valley and I would certainly stay there again. Being an older person, if they have any rooms on the first level, I would request that rather than manage the stairs .

Greeted by an amazing host. House was beautiful and all were so friendly. We had been traveling most of the day even though it was late she allowed us to use the hot tube. We had great conversation during breakfast with homemade sour dough bread. Great time for my first bed and breakfast.

Everything was perfect

The location, breakfast, hot tub we're all superb.

Less involvement with inn keeper and check in process. After a long day of riding and traveling guest just want to go to their room and get some peace and quite. A front desk area where the check in process is faster and more respectful of guest boundaries would be idea.

It’s a home converted into a multi-room B&B or Gästhaus in German. The Amenities are just right: Freshly cooked breakfast every morning, guest kitchen and laundry for your use, jacuzzi, and entertainment area (living room) to watch shows or movies on cable. Feels you are staying at someone’s home like a friend or family’s place and not at a box-chain hotel. The B&B is also close to the Avon-Beaver Creek shuttle routes, so you really do not need to drive to get anywhere. Everything is within a 10-15 minute walk from there. Lastly, the owners are professional yet welcoming at the same time. This will be my go-to whenever I ski Beaver Creek or visit the Vail valley. Vail is only a short drive away, too.

Parking is limited but it is doable. The number of rooms available are not that many. So, you really must plan way ahead if you wish to stay here OR come during the off-ski season.

This is the bed&breakfast experience by the book! The rooms in Mein Haus are cozy and comfortable, each with its own private bathroom (and with additional restrooms in the common areas). From the first welcoming moment, over breakfast and other casual moments, our host Todd was very pleasant to talk to and discuss the area and activities. The house policy is not to wear shoes inside, which may come across as unusual or surprising, but it very much aligns with what I do in my own home, and that made it even more cozy and homelike. (and you get much cleaner indoors as a result)

Tamara's breakfasts were fantastic. I wanted to lick the plate after eating her Eggs Benedict. It was great taking a bath in the large tub after a day of hiking. And this is the only place we have been to that let's you do laundry for free.

Taking our shoes on and off was a small inconvenience especially to go from one building to the other.

Best part of our stay was breakfast and meeting Tamara. Breakfast was very good, and we thought it was a nice touch with the Swedish pancakes.

We were in the side building, not the building where we checked in. It was clean, and felt homey. There were lots of things for sale scattered around, including Mary Kay (?). Our room was clean, bath was well supplied, but the room was very small. Just enough room to move around the bed. Good thing we didn't bring suitcases because there was no place to set them down. Only place to sit was a kitchen chair in the corner. I commented that we had no sofa, and were told "You didn't pay for a sofa". That's fair, I guess, but the picture on the booking page for the price we paid showed a nice big room with sofa. Oh, well, I guess the pictures don't relate to the room category, it was only for one night, and the bed was comfortable.
