Hillside Inn Pagosa

This modest hotel is extremely clean and the pool and whirlpool looked inviting, athough we didn’t use it.

The driveway is difficult to find and shared with another hotel and not well maintained. Breakfast was not up to par with other hotels we’ve stayed at on this trip, even the chain hotels off major highways. The tv’s remote control wouldn’t work—a minor thing since it probably just needed new batteries, but a nuisance since it was late at night when we wanted to use it.

Can't verify dog friendly rooms online. Charge for dog not posted online. Was put on hold for over 5 minutes when trying to call and verify dog friendly room & cost, lost connection in mountains. Got a bit of grief from the desk staff about not verifying dog room available in advance, but in the end it did work out.

We booked this hotel because it looked like an affordable alternative to staying at the hot springs, but honestly did not know what to expect. What a pleasant surprise! The rooms were clean and spacious. They looked to be either recently renovated or just really well maintained. I liked that they kept the pet friendly/no pet rooms separate as I have allergies to some pets. Staff were very helpful and friendly. If we had stayed longer we would have tried the pool and hot tub as it looked very inviting.

I can’t think of anything that could have been better. All was fantastic.

We booked a last minute reservation while traveling from Arizona to Colorado. The staff was friendly and professioanl that checked us in. The room and facilities were clean, but outdated. We literally checked in, slept and left the next morning.

For the price of the room, the amentities were more budget - folgers coffee in the room, rough towels and linens and the continential breakfast was disappointing.

The breakfast was well stocked with your typical morning foods (fruit, juices, oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt), they had a pizza maker and microwaves as well as great coffee. Excellent anti-smoking policy and I am happy to say that I didn't have to smell marijuana or cigarettes at all during my stay at this Hotel. The hot-tub was nice and seemed to get a lot of use. Top notch Wi-Fi!

The only thing I didn't like was the screaming kids and lack of parenting of some of the other guests. I'm a parent and I attribute this to lazy people that would rather let their kids act like hooligans than take the time to get them to be quiet. There were lots of "rules" that was a bit off-putting (around pool area and some other specifics), but it was likely why the place was so clean and running well. There were entire families of non-English speaking guests swimming in their street clothes which I found somewhat gross, so maybe another rule about proper-swimwear would help.

The gentleman at the front desk when we arrived was really nice and made us feel welcome. The hotel was nice on the inside the pool was a good size!

My biggest complaint was our bed was horrible. It was hard as a rock and I could feel the imprint of every other person that had slept in the bed before me. Honestly staying in a hotel the biggest thing you do there is sleep so I don't think I would stay here again for fear of getting a bad bed again. I didn't sleep good both nights because of this.

We did not have time to go to the breakfast room, but having a kettle in the room, opposed to a coffee machine meant that I could make myself a cup of tea (bring my own prefered tea bags). My husband went and got coffee from the breakfast room. Unfortunately we did not have time to use any of the other facilities. Loved having a clean spacious bathroom.

Location,staff,comfort and value for money! The place was conveniently located.The beds were extremely comfortable and the space is very neat and spacious. Just what you need after a long drive. Clean and updated bathroom.

The hotel was well kept, the staff was super friendly and accommodating, the room was well-appointed, the pool and hot tub were totally decent, continental breakfast was in ample supply, and it's just a 4 minute drive to downtown and the hot springs.

The room is lit with bright white LEDs, which makes it feel less than cozy.

Basic continental breakfast. They offered mostly cereal a little bit of fruit and bagels. I would have liked some more hot food maybe even some waffles or pancakes. The beds were okay but the mattress were pretty hard.
