The hotel was perfect for our historic stay in this sweet mountain town! Our room was large with all of the charm and character expected for a unique peek into the past with all of the conveniences of modern day. We had a large comfortable bed with pillow and blanket options for every person. The large picturesque windows were filled with a perfect mountain town views ! Very clean. Friendly staff with lots of local information to make our stay full of all of the experiences that only locals know! Exactly what we were hoping for in our small mountain getaway stay!

No suggestions!

Due to the Festival, it was a bit noisier in town than normal. But, the bed was comfortable and cozy. One of the lamps was broken, so the room was slightly darker than usual, but maintenance responded quickly. They have a no contact system with door codes for the main entrance and guest rooms. But staff was very responsive by text. The elevator is antiquated and absolutely gorgeous!!!

Just street noise, but not the hotels fault. Maybe more towels, room was not cleaned for second night stay, even though the clean room placard was placed on the door.

The staff were friendly and attentive, which was impressive as it is all self check-in and out. The rooms are clean and the haunted elevator was a great piece of history. Seriously, the elevator is a big selling point. I love the history of this town and the hotel was a crucial part of Victor's history. The birdcage elevator is the oldest in Colorado and the building has been a bank, boarding house, morgue, and saloon. The rooms are nice and have the modern touches. I was especially happy with the comfy bed.

My only complaint: I really would like a coat rack or hooks in the room. I know closets are unlikely in a historic building, but even just one coat rack would be great.

There was no breakfast

It was very difficult making room reservations. They want to do everything on line When you are traveling in the car, it is very difficult to make reservations online cause you’re in and out of cell areas constantly also I’m in my late 80s and it’s very difficult for me with this computer stuff. I told the young lady that but everybody was very very nice and we would definitely stay there again. B

This is a hidden gem in an old mining town. Great history the hotel is designated a National Historic Hotel. The whole hotel is decorated in period furnishings, included an antique elevator. Also the history of the hotel includes ghost sightings and interesting stories of the huge gold boom in the late 1800’s. This isn’t a glitz, touristy, 5 star hotel, here you will find friendly people, comfortable accommodations and amazing history.

Loved it all. No complaints .

The staff are absolutely incredible! It was incredibly clean. The decor is beautiful.. right on the main street and easy to find

All the people at the bar standing outside until 2 AM very loud and directly below my window. I didn’t get all the sleep I needed. If I ever go again, I will ask for a room on the other side of the building.

Location is great, centrally located. Rooms are very clean, elevator is super cool! Food in bar there in hotel was great but closed Monday. Next door food at 1899 also has fantastic food and opens at 5 am

Info on how to get into hotel. I wasn’t told I would be contacted by text(with door code)- had I known it wouldn’t have been a problem . Worked out fine in the end. Room was fine but I think a little on the pricey side.

The scenic view from the room, large windows and high ceilings, comfortable bed and chairs, temperature of the room, the decor, close distance to Cripple Creek

We did not encounter a staff member in person at all during our stay, thin walls (could hear neighbors on both sides the first night in the middle of the night), very limited hours and food selection at the restaurant

The bed and linens were super comfortable! We loved the lobby area: high ceilings, lobby bar, vintage vibes all made for a welcome retreat. We also loved the huge windows in our room.

The walls are so thin!! We could hear every little thing from the neighbors in all directions. The checking in process is contactless, so, it can be a little confusing. Also, there were no reading lamps on either night stand, or, a headboard for the bed.

A good friend of mine recommended this hotel, and I'm so glad he did! The hotel was built in 1899 and it has a lot of history which I found to be very interesting. There are many pictures of the place from back in the day and stories to be found on the walls in the lobby. The building appeared to have a lot of the original architecture and fixtures, 12 ft ceilings in our room and brick archways over the windows, oversized gold radiators.. I really liked that a lot. You could also open a window if you wanted to. They weren't screwed shut, and the glass was very clean! The hotel and the room were both accessed through a keypad so you didn't have to worry about keeping track of your key while you're out and about and that's a plus! I received the text message several hours before we arrived there with all the information that I would need plus the passcodes. Plenty of parking right out front. Our room was across the hall from the elevator but we never heard it running at all. The elevator itself is the oldest working elevator this side of mississippi. It's Cage's ornamental iron work and it has a dome top. There was a small restaurant and bar on the ground floor and even though there was only one person working there that night, because of covid, it was good food, not a long wait for it, and a nice environment. What was really awesome was when I discovered at 11 pm there was no hot water I sent a text message and got a message back immediately that engineering was on the way. A man showed up in less than 10 minutes and had the problem corrected in less than 20. It was unbelievable. A lot of chain motels and hotels you're lucky if anybody ever comes and adresses a problem like that. But these people were Johnny on the spot! Our room is on the 4th floor and we had amazing views of the mountains. Victor is approximately 3 miles from Cripple Creek and it was so quiet there. None of the hustle and bustle of the casino town.

There was an old fashioned sink directly in the room and it didn't have any counter space around it. It was kind of hard to get to.. they also have a guest book in the lobby that I would have loved to sign and fill out the information but it was full. ☹️
